"Maybe I just need to work out more. I'm still pretty scrawny compared to Van." Riley said with a chuckle. "I never really thought about when I wanted to change though....I somehow thought that would wait until at least the wedding, but lord knows how long that could take if we're still helping Mala search for immortality."
"Mhmm." Van said--or rather bubbled, having let the water go past his mouth now, having sunk so far down in relaxation.

Mala, after seeing how low Van let himself sink into the water, didn't see why she shouldn't be able to sink a little bit in as well.

Van grinned before coming back up above water. "I just realized I forgot to something; a minor act of celebration and rebellion if you will." he said getting to his feet briefly. "HEY ATIUS!! I'M IN LOVE WITH A MORTAL, AND I'M MARRYING HER, AND THERE AIN'T JACK YOU CAN DO YOU ABOUT IT!!" he called out to the sky happily. Sure he was temporarily powerless, but he didn't care. Life was back to being perfect again.

Mala sat there still with a smile on her face, even if she did feel shocked and confused about Van's outburst at first. After her brain was able to catch up she put two and two together. "Damn straight!" she exclaimed, bursting up to hug him from behind afterwards.

Angel kissed him. "You are perfect. When you change, you'll be perfect forever as a different species. M'kay?" She nuzzled his chest. "And 'sides, except for the god blood, you're better than Van could ever be. Even without the god blood, yours tastes amazing... I almost get high. I think I'll start storing little bits in case I ever need to remember you... how beautiful you are..." She giggled quietly. "I'm babbling, aren't I?"
