*The building was quiet. Minimal activity seemed the byword when the teams arrived, but considering the time at night, it wasnt suprising.

Ground staff was minimal. The offices deserted. The teams would find access to the warehouses hard - they were securely locked and well protected. But equally... quiet.

The reception area, Iden would find, was populated only by bare security and night reception workers, and little resistance would be offered, save the desk clerks automatic reaction to press the panic button and set the exits and elevators to shut down, though apparently he had not tripped the silent alarm*

First order given on entry to the building was the demand that all hands be in the air. Any noncompliance was met with immediate gunfire. The silenced coughs of the soldier's rifles would harbor no argument. But so long as people cooperated...all would be well. The primary squad formed up to police the ground floor in teams of five, while the hostages were isolated and bound. No access to the outside was permitted; all phones, electronics, and and potential weapons were thoroughly stripped. Once again, resistance was met with merciless gunfire.

On the roof, the second squad landed and began their infiltration from above. The key was lightning speed and efficiency; anything less was wasteful and a risk to the mission.

The recon team was purging the warehouses. As soon as the locks were identified, they skipped trying to pick them and went straight with removing the doors. The charges made only a short pop, and the latch would be fried. Once again, they moved in teams of five, but each man was lethally coordinated with his unit as a greater whole, making for a peak of military efficiency.

*Empty... empty... empty...

The warehouses were conspicuous in that whatever had come in... was not here. Where had it gone? what HAD it been? Interesting questions.

Iden and Alyna would find little resistance. Civvies all, even the security, drawn from local police, werent up to standing against a well executed military operation.
The upper levels of offices would be easy to penetrate - they were empty. Strange how such a international multi-tech operation was so silent... and the computers above held data only on waste disposal - unethical as the mthods may be.

Leaving only... the lower levels, right? At least the human toll was small, so far. Heat warmed the floor beneath Alyna;s feet, a fact she relayed to Iden, barefoot as she chose to be despite her human form. For her part, she was damned glad she hadnt had to translate to keep people alive - they'd been sensible. Long may it continue.*

The squads scoured the warehouses briefly. The resources found were....nonexistant. There just wasn't anything there, which left people to wonder just what had happened. Recon could verify goods moving into the buildings; yet somehow they had been moved out undetected. The first instinct of the soldiers on patrol was to search for hidden access, particularly leading underground. After the last Pentex raid, their penchant for underground dealings was well known.

With them reporting in every contact or finding, there was a multitude of information coming in. None of it was good. Iden scowled, and took five men to the stairs. They were heading down, with him in the lead. Systematically they had cleared the building...there was only one location left. That location was the stairwells and elevators leading into whatever was heating the ground. Once again, the elevator shaft was the point of access.

*The elevator shaft was just that - with the silent alarm sounded, the elevators themselves were not moving. This left a long, dark shaft with several thick cables hanging in it.

If Iden and his team descended.... amazingly, the cables would hold, nothing would start moving, no threat jumped out at them.
There was just teh long, dark shaft. No exits or entrances. No doors. Not for the longest time until it was almost impossible to percieve time.
Then finally, a glimmer of light marking out the square edges of a door way where the elevator would have stopped.*

The demolitions trooper with Iden's team slid down on the rope he was rappelling on. He had the charges, he would blow the door. The others withdrew while the shaped charge was placed. The work took less than a minute, then the man climbed his way up to safety.

The charge blew, sounding a heavy thud against the elevator doors. Then two men were down and trained on the hall, weapons ready for anything. Iden would be the third, appearing straight in the middle while the soldiers covered from the relative safety of the sides of the shaft.

*The door would blow easy enough, but the light on the otherside was BLINDING.
When it cleared...

Priestesses lined the sumptuous hallway, plush in black carpetting and silk drapes, rooms leading off the corridor, filled with beds and the trappings of a truly good night in, and he temptresses themselves, resplendant in their magics and not much else were happily getting to know Iden's men...

One stood at the end of the hallway, smiling gently at Iden as she waved a hand and banished the doorway behind him*

Welcome, our lost brother. Wont you come inside and be well again? We've been waiting...
PostPosted: Tue Sep 29, 2009 12:44 pm

Iden landed in a crouch, and had his weapon up. The sight of what greeted him promptly had him lower it. He hadn't expected so many of them...a few, perhaps, but large numbers like this? It was a bit much. After the last raid, he was unsure...especially when the door to the shaft vanished from his sight. So he did what he felt was appropriate.

Open fire. Kill them all.

Whatever weaknesses his men had for the female anatomy, it was overruled by their training to obey orders as they were given. They knew who these women were. They knew they were bad. When the word was passed down, not one man of the team hesitated to clamp his finger on the trigger. Silvered ammunition would tear the hallway apart and lay everyone and everything in it to waste, were all five to take aim and let fly. Meanwhile...Iden simply crouched and smirked, and eased his eyes shut. His senses were compromised, and he knew it. The mental reboot would see the truth of the matter, one way or another.

.: Very good, Fallen.... what well trained men you have. Willing to shoot at wisps instead of defend you... :.

*Illusion of the strongest sort. ONE Priestess, prewarned by a silent alarm, weaving a spell backed by the Wyrm himself. The hallway was full of wispy shadows which Iden's men fired on obediently, while the real deal stepped out BEHIND Iden, from the shaft which had neither disappeared... or was really more than a floor in depth.
She laid her hand on his shoulder, intending to numb and incapacitate him, which the floor beneath them began to open up....*

:: ********. ::

Bullets stitched the hall as he wheeled around. It was too late to stop her; her fingers brushed his shoulder as he sprayed an arc along the corridor. She would be wounded, likely fatally; at least three rounds would enter her ribcage. But all the same, whatever ill effect she had meant would be suffered, leaving Iden downed.

Cease fire! On me!

Reflex enhanced though the men were, it came down to how quickly the human body could move and finish the job. Of course, the illusions were still in effect, which complicated matters a great deal...

Ouch... so callous little wolf.. but thats why we love you. The clock is ticking. You have 40 minutes... hurry, puppy dog...

*Indeed, supposedly fatally wounded. The priestess grabbed at her perforated abdomen as further fire turned on her from Iden's men as she laughed. She's intended to take him with her to where she now journeyed and leave the ceilican to try and rescue him buuut... this was almost as good.*

Hurry to me, my pet... we long for your touch.

*Then she was gone, into the shadows, though Iden himself was not claimed.
If he looked at his shoulder where she'd touched, under his clothing on his skin sat a dark black dragons head marking, slowly getting clearer as time went on. The Wyrm.
Arcane magic and twisted Wyrm power burrowed into his body, unlike any poison the Ortus would know. Slowly, it would worm through his body and attack that genetic strain he had gained from Roan herself. No matter what he did or how many bodies he went through, the very blood DeSeer ha dthe Garou gene in it.
In 40 minutes... he'd change. Under wyrm tainted circumstances.
The fight was done for now, the hallway clear. But the miniature war was far from over*

This left Iden knelt, with something terrible occuring. The sense of helplessness was fought off almost immediately...he hadn't the luxury available to him. Instead, one of his men lifted him by the shoulder as they tried to take stock of the situation.

Reload, and push forwards. I want that hall secure. Someone plant the first charge. Radio the squads above. Valkyrie in thirty, evac in forty-five. Lets MOVE people!

Even as he gave the order, Iden cursed. He didn't know what it was that was growing on his shoulder, but it was a highly unpleasant creation. The sickening sense of his body being twisted was beyond unpleasant, in a most nauseating sense. But even so, he pressed forward with his troops, and without any word beyond squad commands.

It's my fault... I shoudl have seen her... SMELT her...

*Murmuring under her breath, it was Alyna who took point after the way ahead was cleared and moved down the stairs, covering corners enough to let a single Scorpion pass her before she;d again move to point, so on all the way to the floor below.

Silence. Darkness. Alyna's eyes glowed as she growled at the way ahead, thrusting out an arm to stop the next person following her*

I assume you lot have NV capacity? Corridors' covered in trips... If you dont have the ability to see, wait here. I'll find the control panel at the other end.

*She didnt wait, but instead began weaving with cat like grace through the maze of hazards, even though she stayed human*
PostPosted: Tue Sep 29, 2009 1:24 pm

Iden waved her off as she apologized. He wasn't interested in hearing her failures, as they were identical to his own.

They knew we were coming, it would have happened either way. Just keep moving.

As the corridors grew darker, the men had no difficulty coordinating. Their integral HUD took more than adequate steps to ensure full visibility, particularly when paired with the base optical implants each soldier bore. When Alyna warned the lead gunman, he nodded, and pointed out the wires to the troops around.

Iden, of course, failed to wait. ALyna could weave all she wanted, but her domitor went straight through the hall...as a vapor. He would be there first, and without issue. If there was a control panel, it would be a good idea to find it quickly. Time was ticking away, and while Iden had an idea to slow the process...he didn't trust it.

*And quite so, Iden;s trick woudl slow the issue, but not defeat it entirely. Liek trying to hold back cancer by cutting out the tumor, cells remained and woudl continue the work, slowly eating away at him. He'd gained himself prehaps 10 - 20 minutes, so long as he kept focus on the Discpline.

Alyna ddnt even bother speaking as Iden beat her to the goal, simply raked long claws through the power to the unit, and moved on.
Level after level would greet them in similar manner. Sometimes Priestesss awaited to tug away stragglers and try to tempt them, sometimes unexpected traps would spring. Other times, wild beasts seemed to be roaming the halls and waiting for them. Twice they would be rushed by Abominations weilding machine guns. Time was pressing on*
