"Time to dust off the old Etrian Odyssey 10 skills..." Layla whispers to herself as she starts to draw out a map of the region to help prevent getting lost. She makes sure to make note of interesting landmarks on the wall that could help with navigation, or in the lack of that, she carves symbols on the walls with her swords.

"So either Apollo REALLY sucks at getting spells to work consistantly, or this is magical darkness." The real me shudders internally. Pitch blackness was never my friend.

I dissipate the fire and instead focus on intensifying the orb of light. "It would appear this darkness is indeed magical. Fire not creating light would have absolutely nothing to do with my magical skills." I say stoutly.

"Since this conversation is going no where" Willow walks over to the edge of the darkness and holds one arm out into it. "I think I'll scout ahead, 'Reaper Art - Chamelion Dawn' " waiting for her body to meld with the darkness.

Your light only gives you maybe a yard of light in each direction. Willow:It takes a moment, but you do blend in. Everyone:"So which way first?" Xiao asks.

Willow begins to wonder into the darkness further, being careful for holes and the likes that may be in her way.

I give up on the idea of lighting this place up and dissipate the light spell of well. "It seems I'll be of less help here than I thought..." I say sadly as I follow the group. "I guess this is what I get for only focusing on elemental magic all these years..."

It takes a moment to pull yourself back up, but thankfully the others are far enough behind that you can warn them if you choose to. Layla:You lead the group down the same path as Willow. You hear something like scuffling and grunting ahead, but you can't tell if it was Willow or not.

brushing herself down Willow simply calls "Hole"to the others before continuing on, more carefully this time.
