"We should research it anyway. And see what other people do with theirs" she said about making rules. "I wish they came with instructions" Larissa laughed softly. "Maybe for dragons, one rule could be 'no biting' cause that would have to hurt if they have teeth like yours." she cringed just thinking of it. Garnet had several rows of very sharp teeth, and could inject poison from them if she wanted to. Mini Garnets would probably be able to do the same. If they started out with teeth, which they most likely did.

"Oh okay. So we just tell Aria and she does that for us. That makes it a lot easier! Damn, I was thinking we'd have to comb through the whole mansion and fix it all up. I keep forgetting this place is magic. I'd still like to have some kind of barrier on the stairs though, child proof locks on the cupboards and stuff." she shook a finger as she made her point. "That's not too much to ask" she looked around the house "Right, Aria? You can make a gate or barrier to the staircase that adults can get through but tiny dragons and babies can't" She was going to try it out and see what happened.

She heard Garnet's tail swish back and forth and smiled, that was cute. Poff did the same thing when she was thinking. Dragons were similar to cats in a lot of ways. "Yeah but, is there information readily available about them? I'd never heard of that type of dragon till I met you, and that girl at the masquerade selling dragonsbane. Maybe we could ask another, older Sonicwing. Or find some Sonicwings and visit them"

Likely that would involve a trip up into the snow capped mountains, however. And Garnet might have to do that alone because Larissa wasn't fit or experienced in mountain climbing, especially not while knocked up.

"Well, I'm gonna ask around and see what they say!" she decided "I still haven't been to Mia's or Charlotte's house yet. Or Eilene's. But one of them might know of someone with little ones if they don't have younger siblings. I..I think I'm up for the challenge. I mean, how hard could it be? You just feed them and um, play with them. And stop them from eating coins and marbles". She covered a yawn and rubbed at her eyes. "Ugh, I'm getting tired. I might take a soak in the bath and go to bed. We have more classes in the morning. Oh and I have, um, that assignment to work on" she added, to make it sound like she actually had a reason for her shopping trip earlier. She looked at Garnet's hands. She hadn't even bothered to use a knife and fork at dinner. Maybe she would need the gift sooner than Christmas.

She didn't notice the spoon waving because she wasn't looking at the sink area, she was mostly looking off into the distance, thinking. If she was going to become a mother, even if it was magical, she wanted to be prepared. Then she wouldn't be so scared of what was coming. She was scared. She didn't even know how she was going to continue going to school while looking after a baby. Maybe Garnet and her would have to take turns, watch each other's kids while the other went to school. Wait, did they have a daycare centre here? Something to look into.

Garnet was saying something again. That's right, this place had a huge library, well stocked and full of both modern and ancient materials. "Oh yeah, it is! Why didn't I think of that?" she said, hitting her head lightly with her palm. She used her personal computer to look up a lot of stuff but there were lots of useful books in the library. Even spell books and scrolls for people learning them. And some books that seemed more alive than a book should be. She rented out books about crystals all the time.

Larissa looked curious when Garnet said more about visiting her kin. "What?! What would happen if you did try to go into another dragon's territory?" she wondered, though it was a rhetorical question since Garnet probably didn't know.

She nodded "Yeah, I'll just chat to them on the phone or on Skype. They're usually online this time of night" She was set down on her feet and was a little disappointed that their snuggle time was over, but she didn't want to be too needy. Garnet needs her own space as well.

"Huh? Oh. Uhh" Larissa laughed a bit, blushing as she realised her mistake. "Oh silly me. I totally forgot it's the weekend. I was just doing the usual routine. I guess I can sleep in then tomorrow. Yay." she shook her head "Geez, it's happening already. I can't believe how forgetful I am today. Uh, I'll go take a bath. Maybe it'll clear my head" She walked towards the stairs.

Larissa heard the smash and came running back downstairs, nearly tripping in her haste to check on Garnet "Garnet, are you okay? What was that loud smash I just heard?" she asked, concern on her face as she came down and saw ice cream and shards everywhere.

"What happened?" she asked, "It looks like you dropped your ice cream. Are you okay? That red smudge on your hand isn't blood is it?!" she came closer to check but it was probably just a swirl of cherry ice cream.

Poff came sprinting out of the parlor room where she'd been napping and checked to make sure nothing was happening. Monsters weren't invading the house. A window wasn't broken by a giant meteor falling from the sky. Garnet didn't let loose her breath weapon by an accidental sneeze. ..nope, it looks like someone just dropped a bowl of ice cream on the floor. It smelled really weird.

Poff walked over and sniffed a blob of the melting dessert and took a small lick "Blech, what is this stuff?"

Larissa and Poff looked at the mess. It was a big bowl of ice cream once. Poff shook her head, poking her tongue out in distaste. "I don't think I can eat that, whatever it was. Probably for the best you didn't put it in your body" she said to Garnet, wrinkling her nose.

"Oh, good. At least you're not hurt!" Larissa frowned and looked apologetic "I'm sorry, that looks like it was pretty tasty. Mm, smells good too. Did you mix dragonsbane into it? I didn't know we had ice cream or I would have asked for some". She picked up Poff and placed her on a nearby chair "Here Poff, we don't want you getting shards in your paws. Stay out of the way okay? You can go use my laptop if you want to"

Poff's ears perked up and she grinned "Yes! All right I'll be upstairs" the cat called as she streaked off up the stairs towards the bedrooms. It really looked funny when Poff used the computer, especially because she had to type really slowly with her paws. At least the cat would be occupied and out of the way.

Larissa watched Aria clean up the mess and walked over to Garnet in the kitchen, leaning back on the counter. She watched her struggle with the pack of cookies and then get frustrated again when her hands didn't work. Was she going to have trouble doing anything with her hands? She couldn't hold cutlery, then what about her pen for taking notes at class? And typing on her keyboard, and how was she not scratching herself with those claws?

Come to think of it, people use their hands for so much. Larissa hadn't realised how limited Garnet was with her transformation. Until now. "Hey, Garnet, I'll be right back. I just remembered something I wanted to show you" She picked up a wayward cookie off the floor and tossed it in the trash.

Larissa went back upstairs as quickly as she could and came back down with a shiny, gift wrapped box, red with blue ribbon. She handed it to the dragon girl. "Here. Sorry. I was supposed to give this to you at Christmas but I think you need it sooner".

((I just looked up those cookies and discovered they are real. I want some right now! xd ))

Technically, Poff was right. Ice cream is not the healthiest food in the world. Laden with sugar and fat. But Larissa ate sugar and fat all the time so she really had no reason to say it. She thought it smelled bad, though. Anything that smelled like that couldn't be good for a person, in the cat's opinion. She wouldn't have stopped her from eating it though. Poff had her bad points, but she had her good points too. Even if she was a bit arrogant. She was easily distracted at least.

Larissa waited for Garnet to open the box, curious to know what she'd think of it. She smiled "I hope you like it. I had to make a good cover up story to keep it a surprise" She grinned when Garnet opened it and exclaimed over it. "Well, I wanted something personalised and special. So, you'd think of me whenever you wear it" she said bashfully, blushing a bit and shifting her feet. She watched her lift it to her ear and said "I hope it's not too tricky to put on. I forgot to ask the guy at the shop how to put it on...Ohh" She watched the jewellery slither from Garnet's hand and onto her ear, then shrieked softly as it grew thorns and drew blood.

"Oh my gosh, he never said it would do that!" her eyes were wide. Garnet was wiggling her ear easily enough, and it had stopped piercing her ear. She signed and relaxed when Garnet seemed to be okay and even said she liked it. Larissa hugged her "I wanted to help you out. Garnet, it's enchanted, so you can use um...what was it called...telepathy? No, the one where you can move stuff with your mind. Tele...telekinectis? Something like that"

She watched her ears wiggle and chuckled softly, that was cute. She hugged her, then gasped when Garnet picked her up and kissed her. She froze for a moment, unsure what to do, before slowly responding, kissing back a bit awkwardly but with feeling. She smiled widely when Garnet nuzzled her shoulder, leaning into her.

"Well, so long as you're okay. I don't think it uses blood to power itself or anything because I'm sure they would have made me aware of that" she said, concern in her eyes as she looked at Garnet. She then tried to tell her what enchantment it had and messed up the words. "That's it!" she said confidently when Garnet pronounced it. "It's really useful. And just think, when our kids are hatched, or born or whatever, you can feel like you have extra hands. I always heard my mum say she wished that when I was younger" she giggled.

She watched Garnet test her new powers out and grinned at the floating cookie. "Hehe, I'd almost think we had a ghost if I didn't know better. This is gonna be great next Halloween" She pecked her forehead and smiled, making a happy hum "Glad you like it. I don't know all of what you can do yet, so maybe practice moving different things while I go take a bath".

She turned bright red at Garnet's reply. "A bath, together? Uh, well, I guess we could try that and see how it goes" she stammered. "I mean, we're both girls, so it's not like there's anything different" she looked off to one side, her face still hot. She couldn't believe she was agreeing so easily. But it did sound nice. And it might even be fun. She tuned back in to realise Garnet was still speaking and noticed that the other girl had a bit of colour in her face too. She suddenly wanted to laugh a bit, they were both just as awkward as each other but neither of them could help it.

"Oh you don't have to entertain me! I would like to see what else you can do, though" she admitted. Wait, bath toys? Did Garnet still bathe with them? Cute. Larissa remembered having her colour changing mermaid Barbies in the bath, along with bath crayons and My Little Ponies. Those were good times. A small giggle slipped out but she quickly stopped herself. She didn't want Garnet to think she was laughing at her.

She cleared her throat a bit and calmed herself. "I would like to" Larissa said "But only if I get to play with your hair. Oh and, we can bring the cookies as well. They look delicious"

Poff was meanwhile having fun arguing with other familiars online, debating on the best fashions for winter and which grooming parlour was the better one. She was offending quite a few people but they offended her just as easily. Her claws clicked fast as she tapped at the keys with both paws.
