>OOOOOO WEEEE OOOOOOOOOOOO... WEEEE OOOOO OOOOOOOOOO< A bright, playful, and buzzing voice sang as Argyle and Jekyll made their way up the the floating path. A perky Elgyem hovered just slightly away from their rock, singing a mildly obnoxious tune. Would this be another annoying notch in the young trainer's belt?

Neither the pokemon nor the trainer were pleased with how they seemed to be traveling so far. As much as Alexander had wanted to stay out of the water, the ground beneath the liquid seemed to be firmer than that above it for some reason. They were even in deep enough for some of the smaller water pokemon to start investigating them, apparently, as a small barboach stared and laughed at them. Alexander was a bit put off by the mud fish's laughter, but held his tongue as Glaive started conversing with the newcomer.
Although Glaive wasn't one to turn down a challenge, he also wasn't one to start a fight that need not be fought. He might have to change that tune further down the line, but for now he didn't see any need to waste time with the mud fish. Still, there wasn't any reason to be a complete a** about it.>"As... Pleasent as that might sound, I'm afraid we'll have to make a rain check,"<Glaive said, glancing at the path beyond the barboach briefly.>"See, we've got something we need to look for, and we're in a bit of a rush... So it'd be nice if we could get by and maybe take a more leasurely pace coming back."<
While Glaive tried to convince the mud fish to let the duo pass and continue on, Alexander poked some more at the ground around him with his wooden sword. It wasn't so much an idle movement as it was to help him decide on how best to keep traveling. So far the whole sticking to firmer ground thing wasn't working out well, as it already led him ankle-deep into the disgusting water around him. He was going to need some new shoes and a change of socks when he got back to the academy. If he managed it.

((Not a problem! Though probably won't post much tonight. Posting on my phone takes forever.))
Unfortunately that was a bad answer for the Barboach. The little fish began to screw up it's face and wail. ">Why doesn't anyone want to play with me?!<" The pokemon's long body began thrashing about which brought him closer and closer to Glaive. The Barboach was engaging accidentally to start the battle by Flailing!

Surprisingly rather than annoyance, Argyle would begin whistling along with the Elgyem's tune. He bore no particularly ill will to this Psychic-type; and in truth although the battle with the Ralts had been a....ahem...blast.... he was still wary of them. Jekyll wasn't exactly well suited for fighting a true psychic.
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 5 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. As the fire whizzed passed the Shieldon's head he actually looked a bit disappointed. ">There goes our lighting...here, let me just....coax a bit more out of you!<" He called as he began running forward ">Then we can all revel in...ME!<" Well someone had probably come up with worse reasons to Tackle a Fire-type, but it was doubtful Longwei would be ok with this.

So it was that Argyle was once again merrily skipping through the floating rocks. Except replace the skipping with jumping, and remove the merry entirely. The only one getting a laugh out of this was Jekyll as he told jokes the boy couldn't even understand.
">And so I says to the Squirtle, that's not a berry bush, that's my wife!<"

Sheer luck had the Shieldon barely missing his opponent. Maybe the darkness had made it too hard to see? Maybe it couldn't see through the snow without the Houndour's flames? There were endless possibilities. Instead Longwei charged once more, gathering the fire from within his body. Charging it up, he then tried to spit fire with Ember like the dragon he was named after!

It seemed that of all the things he could have done, Glaive somehow managed to make the barboach start bawling like a baby. That would have been fine, except the fish was also flopping dangerously close to the pawniard, which could mean trouble. The duo hadn't exactly wanted a fight, but they couldn't afford to give the little guy any free hits."Glaive!">"Yeah, I'm aware."<The pawniard had already gotten into a battle-ready stance and was prepared to swat the barboach with a dose of revenge when it got too close.

Programmed to be alert to unusual things and taught to be curious, it wasn't surprising that Alice would turn to the Ledyba with a fire in her eyes. Carefully, she lowered herself into the water, trying not to make too much noise (with Vorpal tightly wrapped around her back). She took several steps through the water, trying to follow at a distance.
Sinking into the water, although Alice made noise it was not enough to spook the Ledyba from a distance. The bug's wings and the rustling of the plants mingled with the swishing and laping sounds of the water. Still as she approached it the bug would move further away, meticulous in it's movements. Every few steps the water was spotted with red...but not the right colour for blood. One had to wonder just what this bug was up to....

Well, it seemed someone had heard Jekyll's joke. The giggle seemingly came out of nowhere... though if they waited a moment, a purple glowing ball manifested right in front of the pair. >Not bad, not baaaaaad, froggy-woggy,< the Ghost-type trilled. >Got anymore funny stuff?< she questioned, bouncing in front of the pair, and didn't seem to be moving any time soon. Would this end in a joke-off, or a battle?

">Ah yes, more light! Be sure to get my good side!<" The Shieldon called out, sliding to a halt and turning his head a little to the side. You'd almost think he was posing for a picture; or even a painting.

Vorpal's cloth tightened around her neck-- not in a threatening way, but in a manner that reminded her to be cautious. Even if the red in the water wasn't blood, he wasn't sure he wanted anything to do with a bug that snuck around. He preferred straightforward people... but if his trainer wanted to go forward, he'd be with her every step of the way.
Alice, meanwhile, was intently slinking forward as quietly as she could. Admittedly, she wasn't based off a tactical drone, so sneaking wasn't her natural instinct, but she had to try! She wanted to know what was going on!
Suddenly aware of the presence of an audience, Jekyll would turn on Argyle's shoulder. ">Oh well if you liked that! Listen to this!<" The Croagunbk, face split into a grin ">So a Priest, a Rabi, and a Buddhist Monk walk into a bar. The Priest goes OW, the Rambi goes OI, and the Monk respects the pole's right to exist and hopes this pain will aid him to the path of enlightenment<" Jekyll said, following up the whole speel with jazz hands.
While Jekyll delivered the punch line, Argyle was first to actually turn. While the frog had been croaking into his ear ceaselessly for a while now, he had noted that it had increased the moment the amphibian had turned. A Gastly eh? So that was the audience. For a moment Argyle actually felt a chill being in the presence of this ghostly apparition. Wait....he felt a chill.....HE FELT A CHILL!. There was more than just creepiness in this specter, but a physical drop in temperature! OH HAPPY DAY, MAY ARCEUS BE PRAISED! Imagining if he had this for the walk back! He could travel through that whole cave and volcanic trail all over again without breaking a sweat!
Clapping his hands excitedly the boy would abruptly turn around. Having gathered what was going on with all the snickering, the boy would whisper something into Jekyll's ear. In the next moment the frog was on his forearm and Argyle himself had donned a ridiculous set of spiral glasses complete with a false nose.
"Doctor! Doctor! I need a second opinion on this arm!" The boy began.
">Well what did the other Doctor say?<" Jekyll croaked.
"He said that'll be two-hundred dollars!" Argyle answered in a slightly deeper voice.
">That's ludicrous! I'll do it for a hundred ninety-five<" The Croagunk shot back, wiggling a set of fake eyebrows made with two feathers his trainer's feather duster.
Of course Argyle had no idea what Jekyll was really saying during this little routine. He could only hope the Poison-type was following the lines as he'd been taught them. He never thought he'd see the day that having to entertain those spoiled Nidoran of the Mistresses would actually come in handy...
"Doctor! Doctor! Did you get my X-ray back?" The young butler began, clearly setting up another joke.
">Yes I did!<" The Croagunk pipped up ">Oh this isn't good<"
">Golly, what is it doc!<" Argyle asked with youthful enthusiasm and surprise. On the inside he wanted to die just from using the word golly in a sentence that wasn't sarcastic.
">If I don't make this quick I'll miss my T-time~<" Again Jekyll would wiggle his false eyebrows.
Then like any good comedy duo the pair would end on jazz hands, the lenses of Argle's glasses falling down to let a spring loaded pair of false eyes pop out!

Slipping closer, Alice would find that her movements in the water were now producing too much noise for the insect to ignore. Although it had heard them, it had done so far enough away not to be truly scared, only spooked and suspicious. Rather than attack it would fly off lazily, more than certain that the 'predator' creeping up on it wouldn't catch up to it in time. Caught in the middle of what it had been doing however, the Ledyba would drop something as it took off. Floating leisurely in the water, Alice would find a Cheri Berry. Apparently the red had been berry juice, and they'd just got and interrupted the Bug-types lunch!
