Dara laughed lightly at Matt's mischievous grin. "My partner actually was in the arenas. But that made him even stronger, although no one should have to go through that. Especially not anyone as cute as you guys."

It isn't fair that I also go through all this crap to be with you and you turn around and say 'Oh, I am having second thoughts about our relationship' and 'Oh, I met this cute girl in whatever place I went and people say we make a cute couple'. Oh and let's not forget the new ones where you said you would kill me if I get in the way of doing something you may regret or that I should stop following you even though I promised you I would and have for about two years now even though you have tries to kill me multiple times, mentally harass me, abandon me, and constantly go hot and cold about the so called relationship we have." she snapped, "It's not fair that you can act like this to me but when I call out anything I am automatically the worst person in the world. It just isn't fair. And I was not comparing you to a kishin because you aren't but if you keep seeking revenge and do whatever without worrying about the rest of us then you might start looking like one." she snapped back. "I really care about you, no matter what it feels like I will. It seems that no matter what I say or do, it will always come as bad and it makes you upset and hurt. As you've said we've been this way for two years, but now I will stop it." he said as he softened his eyes and became a little more calm, "Lets just stop pretending that this relationship will work. Like you say, I have put you through a lot and still you have stayed with me and that isn't right. If I am making you suffer then I will stop it." Atticus walked over towards her and put his hand on her head, "To me, you are a princess and I your knight, but it seem that I haven't been acting like one, so maybe you need another knight, someone who will treat you like you really are a princess and I will just be your sword and shield." The way Atticus was speaking, almost made it sound like he was breaking off not only their engagement, but their whole relationship, except for being that of weapon and meister. "After all, demons aren't suppose to fall in love, right? Matt nodded at Dara's statement. "I'm gonna become really strong too. Stronger than your partner even! And I'm gonna find a hot girl and she's gonna be all like "Oh Matt, you're the best ever! You're such a big hero!" And I'm gonna save her from kishin eggs and we're gonna do all kinds of fun stuff. And she's gonna want to kiss me like, all the time!" He said, seeming to have all his future plans set out. "Eww, girls are gross!" Jason said, making a face. "Oh, what do you know? You're gonna marry an old, baggy mean lady like the headmistress," Matt replied. "No way! I'm never gonna get married. Everyone knows that girls have tons of diseases and that if you marry one, you'll die!" He explained matter-of-factly. "Well, you have the dumb disease!" "Do not!" "Ya do too!" Magnus shuffled his feet as he looked at the ground. "Well I wanna marry a princess," he muttered bashfully. "No way!" Matt told him. "You gotta be a prince to marry a princess so you better find a white horse!" The kids were out of earshot of Atticus and Shira and couldn't hear what they were talking about. They probably wouldn't have understood even if they could.

I don't want that though. I prefer to be treated like a regular person instead of being called that. So far you and Aislin and Dara have been the only ones to do that... and even though the real you can be a jerk at times you have qualities that make me really like you to the point where I can't hate you and I want to follow you even if you are being a real jerk not just because of how I feel but because I know you love to be reckless." she said, frowning slightly about that "I am not sure if that is because I am an idiot or if it is because I really love you that much. It does seem like you do not have the same view though... since at the diner you said you were having doubts about it. I would like to work things out if that's the case but that is unless you really don't want to be with me and only be my partner." she told him before her expression turned serious again "So here... do you really feel the same way I do? Do you think we can be together? Do not base this around just for my sake, I knew from the beginning what liking you would bring. Base your answer around what you feel towards me. If you don't like me like that, alright, I will just be your partner and not say anything else about loving you. I will bury those emotions so I won't pressure you. Dara started laughing at the boys bickering about girls. "Now Jason, not all girls are that bad. I mean look at Aislin, she's as sweet as pie and couldn't hurt a fly. And Magnus, you should keep that dream because every girl is a princess in her own special way. Lastly Matt, I don't think any girl would appreciate being called hot, except for ones that just want attention. You want a confident girl who will be your partner to do fun things. And if you're nice, I'm sure she'll want to kiss you all the time."

"Truthfully, I care deeply about you, but the fact of the matter is, when I am with you, I am not myself, I can not think straightly and have always betrayed your faith and trust in some way. You are everything to me, but I can not allow you to continue putting yourself in danger. So, if I want to be happy and you want to be happy, we should take a break from all of this and just focus on being friends and nothing more." Atticus told her, with a little hint of sorrow and love in his voice, but soon that was replaced with a more demonic and cold aura. Jason over at Dara as she spoke to him. "Well...maybe. But she's still a girl," he informed her, still sure of his assessment. Magnus grinned. "You really think so?" He asked hopefully. Matt looked at Dara, nonplussed. "Why not?" He asked her when she told him about girls not wanting to be called hot. "Don't girls want to be pretty and stuff?" He was still having trouble distinguishing exactly what Dara meant when someone else arrived. Her soul was unmistakable. It was Scarlet. Scarlet She stopped when she saw the group there. "What's this?" She asked with a pleasant smile. Judging by her attire, she was already with the Dark Carnival, though her soul only showed faint traces of madness. "Are you guys here to adopt too? I hope I didn't miss the best pick already. I was sure I'd come early enough." She put one hand on her hip with a faint frown, though it wasn't an unfriendly one. "I'm Scarlet," she told them conversationally. "A member of the Dark Carnival. I'm here on an errand for the arenas. Know any good kids who could could use a nice, loving home?"

Dara smiled at Magnus. "Yes, I really think so. You just have to find each other. And fight for each other. And Matt, yes girls like to be all pretty, but in a way calling a girl hot is demeaning. Girls who don't go looking for attention would much rather be called pretty, beautiful, gorgeous, and cute. Do you understand?" Dara's eyes widened as she saw Scarlet and asked for any kids for the arenas.
