She nodded, and closed her eyes, "I'm sorry, I was a different person then," she eyes burned with the threat of tears.

Vail watched her as she looked down and smiled. "I know. That's why I trust you. If I didn't think you were different, I would've killed you for what you've done."

Rain nodded, and turned back to the chest, gently lifting a uniform from it's depths. It was a guards uniform, the metals on it marked it as the highest rank. "I was the best once," she laid the uniform among the weapons, "I probably still am the best. About fifty years ago, I was captured, this was the beginning of the phenomenon that caused to war, and I was the first prisoner here," she forced the words out, not looking at anyone as she spoke, "The tortured me for years, just before they changed me I was nothing, just an empty shell. And then they invented a poison that has the capability to destroy the mind of it's victims and allow it to be put back together by the poisoners. I was forced to drink it, and they made me into the perfect killing machine. For thirty years I was their pet," she sneered the word, "they trained me to fight, to kill on command, to follow their orders. Michel was a sort of handler for me, he trained me, taught me all I know, and he was in charge of my punishment. I was what won the great war for the 'mortals' and it was me who hunted down those who resisted. "I can't tell you that I didn't enjoy what I was doing, I loved to kill, it was my forte, my art. I don't know what it was that changed me, and broke their spell. It could have been anything, someone I killed, something that was said, I don't know. But one day I woke up and I regretted what I had done. It took me nearly three days of fighting to completely break free, but when I did, I made this place," she motioned around the caverns. "I put all my weapons in here and I signed up for classed like a normal student. They've been trying to destroy me for the past twenty years," she closed her eyes, "I've been able to evade them most of the time, except for a few instances, but eventually they will either kill me or turn me back." She turned to them, pain and tears in her eyes, and waited for an answer to what she had just reveled.

Vail hugged Rain. "You know I knew who you were the whole time right?"

Adara looked at Rain. "it doesn't matter to me on your history. To me is what you are now. And now your on our side." Adara smiled.

kirstangel1 "Thank you," she whispered, before turning to Ro. Ro kept his scowl locked on his face. When she turned to him he looked her directly in the eyes before walking over to her. While walking he began to speak in a tone that conveyed a hint of anger. "So let me get this straight..." He said with a small pause before he continued. "They captured you, brought you here, tortured you, broke your will to fight, poisoned you, wiped your mind and reprogrammed you, then used you to further their stupid cause." As he spoke his anger became more and more apparent as he backed Rain to the wall. "THEN, after ALL that, your telling me you escaped control only to be hunted down like an animal and trapped here for years being tortured time and again with no way out. Your telling me all this..." He said finally stopping as her back touched the wall. "And you still won't let me kill them." He said with a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. "What kind of friend are you?" He said jokingly as he raised his hands as though offering her a hug though it was really just a gesture to make his question more comical. "Now, i'm definitely gonna kill 'em." He said anxiously with his hands still up as though keeping the invitation open for her.

She smiled, and stood, throwing herself into his arms, "Exactly," she said softly, laying her head on his chest, "you can't kill them... yet," she looked up at him, "I think I know how to get everyone out of here, but it's risky, and it may end up with loss of innocent lives, but in the end, if it works, yes you can kill them." She sighed and laid her head back on his chest, relieved that he understood, that they all understood. She felt lighter, knowing that they weren't turning there backs on her.

He growled at the hug initially, not expecting it though enjoying it within seconds. His growl then reflected his protest to her no killing statement but was soon repealed in the thought that she had a better plan. His growl re-emitted itself when the thought of innocent lives lost came up.
