Selael The Pyromancer
"It's the Quiet Ones you have to watch out for..." ((Because I have A. Been dying to post on Selael, B. Waiting forever for a reply on Aden, and C. Had a bunch of ideas for Sel's character... I'm going to do a flashback. xD)) As Selael presented the ideas to the young Princess of Aden, he thought back and looked over at the giant glass spike he had in his hand... He thought back to the first time he thought of the use of Glass in battle, transforming the sand around him into a substance to pierce rather than burn... It was a while back when he was just beginning to take up his responsibilities as a guardian of the Kingdom's secrets... And the beginning of his infamous reputation as a ruthless destroyer of the thieves of the Secrets of Aden... 10 Years Ago... "Selael, the time is fast approaching... You will take the charge that has been upon our family for generations now that you have learned our ways, the history of the Kingdom and the art of Pyromancy..." It was his big day... His eighteenth birthday and when his father would retire his position to Selael. The Keepers of the Royal Secrets were not an official branch of protection for the family, but they were important nonetheless, perhaps because they were so enigmatic and so thoroughly hidden from the rest of Aden... Those who know the most about them are the thief guilds who constantly go toe-to-toe with the Keepers... And sadly to say for the Shalehem family, most of the time, those thieves got around the defenses set by the lineage of Pyromancers.
"Do you swear, Selael Shalehem, to keep the Secrets of the Kingdom of Aden from falling into the hands of foreigners?"
"I swear."
"Do you swear, Selael Shalehem, to ensure that the Secrets of the Kingdom of Aden never fall into Citizens of the Kingdom who would misuse them?"
"I swear."
"And finally, do you swear, Selael Shalehem, to keep the Legacy of the Phoenix alive by ensuring the safety of the people it has blessed?"
"I swear."
Selael's father, a middle-aged man with graying, red hair and olive skin, not unlike Selael's own, but with the hair tied completely in a tail in the back, took off the crimson, flame-adorned robe and two chained tomes from his body. He carried them slowly and ceremoniously to his son, coming behind the boy and placing the robe and chained tomes over his body. Selael slipped his arms through the sleeves after his father placed the robe on his shoulders, his father releasing an audible "Oi" of relief as he released the weight of the tomes and the robe.
"You know, son... You don't have to carry those all the time. It's purely ceremonial."
"I'm aware of this, father. These are the vestments of our ancestors in our line of duty-"
His father started snickering, the older man let out a gentle sigh and pat his son on the shoulder. "Boy, you're a lot more enthusiastic about this job than I was. When my dad gave me the robes and the tomes, I couldn't get the damn things off fast enough! You'd make your grandfather proud."
Selael then replied, a faint smile on his face as he looked his father in the eyes. "It's our duty to bear this burden... No one else but our family can."
The middle-aged man sighed and nodded slowly. "Yeah... You sound just like your grandfather." He snickered lightly. "Come on, let's get you something to eat to celebrate! And please, take off the vestments." He snickered. "You're not on duty quite yet. I'll still be keeping watch just to make sure you're ready. You shouldn't worry, no one's ever tried to rob the Kingdom's Secrets since your Grandpa was your age."
Selael then nodded slowly, keeping a rather stern, still face. His father appeared to be a rather carefree, easy-going individual, although he did teach his son all the mental disciplines expected of a Keeper of Royal Secrets. Selael took this very seriously, though, a lot more so than he did... His father was proud but somewhat concerned that his boy wouldn't ever find himself a wife to sire an heir... Then again, wives of Secret Keepers have a bad habit of attracting attention from Thieves' Guilds... It was the kind of job where you WISHED your spouse was cheating on you. For this day, Selael's father had arranged for his mother to head out of the country to someplace in the west to retire, just to make sure none of the Adenese Thief Guilds decided to use her as leverage, especially with a young, new Guardian taking his place...
They went over to one of the popular inns of the time, having a rather sumptuous meal of steaks, cured ham, bread, and rather well-aged wine. Though whilst they ate in celebration, a group of Thieves were watching them... A group that was rather well-acquainted with the Shalehem family's work in trying to stop thieves from stealing valuable secrets that may end up with the leaders controlling much of the Royal Power in the country... Something that these thieves in particular were interested in. It was no longer simply a matter of survival for them... Now they wished to taste the forbidden fruit of Royal Power, and with this changing of the guard, it suddenly became easier for them to impose themselves and take the secrets of ownership over this nation... It was the perfect crime...
Later that night, the older Shalehem man sat down on a chair in a dark corner near the castle... Out of the Guards' line of sight and certainly out of anyone who'd be passing by... It was fine for him. This corner happened to be by a window on the top of his house, which had a perfect view of the castle and the surrounding area... The family had used this house for generations. It wasn't particularly luxurious, but it got the job done... And did so rather consistently. Selael was fast asleep in the other room, resting for what will later be his true first day of being a Guardian of Royal Secrets... Of course, with several thieves stationed outside the house, that day may come sooner than either of them had bargained for.
"Alright, men... Those two are members of the Shalehem family, which means if we try to get the true source of Royal Power, they're going to give a lot of grief for us, and by grief, I mean burn us to a crisp."
"That's why we have these fire wards, right?"
"Correct. Do you have them on your persons?"
All of the thieves replied in whispers. "Yes, sir."
"Good... First we take out the old man, and the kid will be a piece of cake."
The thieves then kicked down the door... It stirred the attention of the older Shalehem, walking down the stairs and opening the door... He saw a company of hooded men wielding daggers, about 5 of them in total. He then held out his hand and shouted, very loudly for the entire house to hear...
"IGNUS!" The sound conjured up a pillar of flame in front of the older Pyromancer, the sound of it awakening young Selael from his rest. Selael then knew the procedure... He was to get out of the house until things inside calmed down. This wasn't the first time someone had tried to assassinate his father... Though there was something about this time that would be much different.
"Turn back while you can... I didn't make it to kill, but the next one won't be as-" When the flames in the house dissipating, something shocked the older man intensively... The thieves weren't even singed by the flames, and they wasted no time in throwing their knives in his direction... One of them landed in Shalehem the Elder's shoulder, the man falling down on his knees and howling in pain, then collapsing onto the floor, or so it appeared...
Young Selael heard the noise, but stood back, standing further away until he stood inside the sand... He gathered himself together... His father likely wasn't dead, not yet... The old man probably knew what to do at this time. The thieves then rushed out of the house to find Selael standing in the sand of the outside, staring at the thieves as he held out his hand... Selael, at this time, was seen wearing full vestments, the Crimson robes adorned with flames and the two tomes chained across his body. He held up his hand and said the incantation for a Flame spell quietly in a deadpan tone...
"Ignus." In front of him, a small spark flew toward the thieves... The group resisted the urge to laugh, and rightfully so as the spark suddenly burst into an enormous fireball around the thieves... When the flames cleared, Selael seemed somewhat surprised that they weren't affected by them. The thieves held out their weapons.
"Stupid kid... Couldn't tell that his little flames won't work on us anymore, just as dumb as his old man!"
Selael quickly reached down and grabbed some sand, all panic, fear, remorse... All things that would normally be present in a person in his situation just disappeared as the idea cooked up in his mind... The thieves laughed as they charged at him. "He thinks throwing dust in our eyes will do him some good!" Their blades were held up and ready to pierce into the youth's skin...!
"You're half right there..." He held a blank, cold stare as the threw the sand toward his enemies and near the same instant declared the incantation for fire...
"Ignus!" The flames then burst around the sand, melting it and turning it into glass shards, then the flames would erupt further, this time behind the newly formed glass. As the flames shot out behind the glass shards, they flew at the thieves like crystal daggers, each vicious, reflective surface twirling toward their targets and then embedding themselves in the eyes and foreheads of each of the robbers... Within moments, each of them stopped writhing and groaning in pain as life left their bodies slowly and painfully...
Selael walked up the stairs to the room where his father was, seeing the dagger pulled out and his father unconscious... Selael spilled some of the blood to ensure no poison that might have been laced in the dagger was in his system, then he burned the wound shut. He picked up his father and made preparations to send him west with his mother...
Later that week, Selael stared out the uppermost floor of his house that he inherited from his father, simply leaving the corpses of the thieves outside to rot, to warn any others that may try to strike against him or against the family... His eyes carried now an all-too-familiar cold and blank stare... This was why his family made sure mental discipline was a part of their training... This was why the process was rigorous enough to go through his entire life, for those who must wield flame as he does and against the foes he must fight against, he must freeze his blood and deprive himself of any form of remorse or regret..
His eyes stared out that day, dim and lifeless, looking out that window like a living doll, watching and waiting for whoever would dare incur his ire next....
From that day forth, the Fire-Magician's Eyes were as Cold as the void itself...

Well, if it's not real You can't hold it in your hands You can't feel it with your heart And I won't believe it
Eveline Valdigraph Eveline slowly pulled away from Beatrix and looked down at the wolf in her hand. Now she was rather confused to why he would give her such a thing. She didn't understand after all the things that she had told him, he was going to give her something like this. She ran her fingers over the texture of the necklace that he gave her then looked over at Beatrix who smiled at her and nodded. She then tied the necklace around her neck and let out a soft sigh.
She rested her head against Beatrix's shoulder and closed her eyes. She had always believed that her father treated her fairly compared to other people in the household. She imagined the loved because she just wanted it so badly. To pretend that she actually was wanted by her father instead of being used. She tasted freedom when she was sent away but after so long she had to return and live under her fathers roof until he found some sort of use for her, whether it was to use her to strengthen relationships worth other houses or just to be the image of the house. She was to be proper and never to speak among her brothers and father as if she was an equal to them. He only struck her once when she was a child but his words were hash enough to leave scars on her fragile heart.
Eve looked up at Dadrik for a moment. "Thank you..." she managed to say then looked down in shame. She shouldn't have called them monsters with out getting all the facts. Though there were many terrifying things that was written about the family that made her believe that they were. "I apologize for my words..I shouldn't have spoken like that" Eve didn't dare think about looking over at the woman. She figured she already hated her and she didn't want to add more to the fire.
But if it's true You can see it with your eyes Even in the dark And that's where I want to be What a shame we all became, xxxxxxxxsuch fragile broken things, A memory remains, xxxJust a tiny spark, xxxxxxxI give it all my oxygen, XXXXXXXXXto let the flames begin, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOh glory... ~+~Beatrix~+~
Beatrix tried her best to comfort Eve in anyway she could. She gently stroked her hair as she tried in her arms and waited patently for her sobbing to stop. She glanced over at the wolf that he had created for Eve and looked up at him. Her gaze fell back on Eve as she studied the necklace for a moment. A smile appeared on her lip and her tail wagged slightly as she tired it around her neck. It made her happy that she was going to wear it. Trix didn't want her to face her brothers alone. She didn't know what they were going to do with her. It really did worry her.
Beatrix smiled warmly at Eve after she poke to Dadrik and apologized. She placed a hand under her chin and lifted her head. Trix's deep green eyes met her blue ones and her ears lowered. She used the fabric of her gloves to whip off the tear streak that were left on her cheeks. "No more crying. A noble woman shouldn't cry like this remember?" she wrapped her arms around her neck and hugged her again. Beatrix let go of Eve and took her hands making her stand up with her. She led her over to her bed and let go of her hands. "It's almost dawn...Your eyes are going to have black rings around them. You need to get some sleep....I still want to talk to you but I think the servants are gathering up outside your door...and thats going to attract what ever guard you have left on your property."
The noblewoman reached out and gripped on to Beatrix's arm. "some of my brothers should be coming in at sometime....How about I come to you?" she asked. Trix nodded. "I'm at the Blue Moth Inn...We can talk then" she said as she held back a yawn. Trix was rather worn out herself. Too much has happened to day and she needed some rest for now. Her body ached and it was getting harder to keep her eye lids open.

Katalina Hope Aden The moment I am thinking. {That could just work. } The moment I am feeling. { Stressed. } Where I am standing now. { Inside the castle} The study. } Who I stand with. { Selael } Katalina thought over his plan. It seemed to be a good one after all but she wasn't sure. She would have to take in the measures of other things as well. The guards that she will have to pull from some of their places and how tired they might grow. When Selael threw a different question at her she wasn't expecting it at all. It threw her off guard herself. His plan was an interesting one for sure. And it would come into good use. But the questions that she held were, where would the feather be really? who would know of it's location and such things. "That does sound like a very interesting plan. But where would the feathers location really be and who should we trust to know it's location. Also there is the matter of how much time this will take to prep to get this ready just to start." Lina felt as if she had so little time at this point and so much to thinking about. She had to sort this all out some how but she wasn't sure how she would be able to do so.
Lina looked over to Selael. "You have great idea for sure Sir Selael. But before we proceed with such things we will need to get others that will help us with this plan as well as prep for what we will do next." Lina said. She took in a deep breath and sipped at her tea. She wasn't sure how long this was going to take but it was all very stressful. Occupation Oinking Costume {{ One post down... Like 5 Million to go. }}

Selael The Pyromancer
"It's the Quiet Ones you have to watch out for..." Selael sat and listened to Katalina's response... There was something he hadn't heard in a long time; Approval for his ideas. He stared for a few moments, but in a bit of a nanosecond, a smile flashed on his face, though just as quickly disappeared. As he pondered her concerns, he thought about it... Something between what his family would have done and what current circumstances demand. After several moments of pondering, Selael nodded slowly and delivered his answer.
"The Real Location will be between you and me... We will trust no one else. We will only tell them where it MIGHT be... Not where it is, in case one of them is captured and interrogated, or that we are being spied on by one of the thieves. Guards will be assigned to every location, but not allowed to go inside... They will be told the truth in that respect; there will be dangerous traps inside. I will be placing those wards and traps in the two possibly real locations... But I have something in mind for the fake one that will attract even more attention..." He pulled out his History Tome, opening over to a page that showed a procession of people carrying a giant ark with a phoenix adorned onto it... In front of the procession was a man wearing the same clothing as Selael; robes adorned with flames and wearing chains across his chest with tomes attached to them. He then pointed at the description and ran his finger down the page...
"In the early days of the Feather's protection, it was carried in an Ark, made of a mysterious metal called Enferantite and plated with Gold. When it would be moved from one place to another, a company of guards would follow it and the leader, a Shalehem in the guise of a National Priest, would lead in a song that tells the story of the Kingdom's inception and warn thieves that those who'd dare try to steal the feather would die. In the ancient days, that Ark was part of the passage into the Guardianship..." He took a breath and turned the page.
"However... This practice was discontinued when the parties were constantly attacked, and the feather fell into the hands of thieves' guilds more than once, and the Ark itself became the object other thieves would pursue... Since then, it's become obsolete and was hidden away, considered my the family to be far more trouble than it was worth." He then looked up at Katalina. "That is... Until now.
"You see, the Ark is a rather well-known tradition amongst Thief guilds. They've assumed for years that the Feather was kept in the castle and never moved... But when it WOULD be moved, the Ark would be used and the song would accompany it. I will read up on the ceremonies and the Moving of the Ark, including the song that accompanies it. So if whoever it is isn't very educated or just part of a Thief Guild, they would go after the Ark. If they know that the tradition was discontinued, they would go for one of the other two locations. I can get the Ark out of my home in no time. I can create all of the wards in about a day and a half... It'd take less time on the Ark since it already has a good deal of protective spells on it... Those who will help us, as you say, will be up to your actions and your connections. As for where it will actually be..."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a coin. He then flipped it in the air... He then caught the coin and looked at which face it landed on...
"...The Basement."

Rinzo "Deaths Shadow" Rinzo gently gripped her hand and closed his eyes letting them fall through the shadow together to come out standing in the same warehouse with all the shades reversed. The windows showed dark grey and everywhere inside bright whites. He opened his eyes seeing his from his true form again. Shokyo was much smaller to him now almost the size of a child in comparisson, his translucent arm extending down and holding her hand with his thin one enveloping it. " How strange must I look to her?" he thought to himself. Rinzo knew now how he appeared in his minds eye. A tall almost see-through being, a soft inner light radiating out from his core like the sun behind curtains. His body thin and his head elongated like on ancient statues in the deep desert. From his back came hundreds if not thousands of thin tentacles, all of wich constantly moving like strands of hair in a slight breeze, but just as aethreal as him. He opened his mouth to speak and the words came out just as he described. "Shokyo, please stay calm and hold tight. I am going to make us travel like how I do." he said to her. With that the tentacles on his back started flayling wildly, probing every area of light around him as he started his first step. They passed city blocks in mere seconds as he was propeled along, keeping her aloft and instride with him. They entered the castle courtyard, then the halls, "deeper" he thought to himself, letting the tentacles guide him into the darker areas. Down they descened through kitchen and into cellar until they were are the lowsest coldest depths where the wines were stored, the enitre room ablaze with the inverse light, ready to be stepped through. But the tentacles probed further, sensing something farther down. They sent him back images of deep caverns, carved with... he couldn't tell at first but "walls?" he muttered to himself. A maze below the castle? If anywhere a stored object was to be hidden it would be in such a complex. "Shokyo, I think I found where the feather is already".

No sleep No sleep until I am done with finding the answer Won't stop Won't stop before I find a cure for this cancer Sometimes I feel I going down and so disconnected Somehow I know that I am haunted to be wanted . Dadrik stood up and backed away from Eveline soon after she took the necklace. "No need to apologize. It's a misunderstanding. Anybody would think the same if they didn't know firsthand." He told her then gave her a smile. Dadrik then followed Beatrix quietly and waited till she was done with Eve. After she mentioned to blue moth inn he came up by her. " So you will be coming. In that case I'll give you two some alone time when you come." He said with a nod. "Now,." He paused turning his head to Beatrix. " Looks like she isn't the only one tired. " Dadrik said only to quickly pick her up infront of Eve. " Don't argue, not infront of Eve." he said with a smirk. His head turned back to Eve and he gave her another smile. " Well we will see you then." He said as his body flickered and the two were gone within a blink of her eye.
The two of them appeared in the room and soon after so did Lilith. Dadrik walked over to the bed and set Beatrix down in it. He was debating weather or not to tell her that the flower he put on her before she went to see Eve was different then the one that was in the room they now were in. But maybe she would think he just put it back together...but most likely not, she was to smart for that.
Maarick smiled, he for sure thought that Eric was going to ravage the food, but instead he just ate it elegantly. Surprising to him to say the least. He had good manners as well. He listened on as Eric talked and explained his dislike for riddles. " I am sorry that it's....'cryptic' to you. But what would the point of me just straight out telling you be? As it is, I do not tell people about us and I do not say what we are. But hinting, for someone to find out themselves. That's another story. But, I have actually told you more then I usually do. I like your charisma." Maarick told Eric. " I am not proud of what I am. Do you think that someone who disliked very much what they are would go around flaunting it? I'd rather not people find out either but to those that I know, I do not lying about it. If someone is to get to know me, I think they have a right to know. Even if they have to figure it out." He said with a nod. At this point he sat up and put his forearms on the table, bringing both his hands together resting his chin on it. He was intrigued in what he just said about the future. " So I'm assuming you've tried to go into the future to see the answer for me? And judging by so far, I'm guessing you got nothing but static?" He said with a bit of a smile. " You will know soon enough, the future is coming to us fast." He said with a slight nod. Maarick sat back once again, cocking one eyebrow slightly. " My turn for a question. Although this might help you two. " He said to Eric. " Do you know of The Phantom Blaze, or The Emerald Reaper?" He asked with a bit of a smirk again.
Lilith The Celestial wake As they spoke Lilith gave her brother a kind smile. He was handling this better then her. He may seemed like a rough guy but he was truly caring to others. Especially ones that help they're family, even if it isn't known. She was over the whole ordeal now though. The only reason she got angry was she called her brothers monsters, which she knew they weren't. Despite what they were they didn't use it for anything else then what they do now. Lilith giggled a little after her brother picked up Beatrix. "Foxy's goin to kill you." She said in a rhythmic manner. Dadirk's body then vanished. She looked over at Eve for a moment. " Well, I'm glad that we got that settled. " She said walking over to Eve on her toes. When she arrived to her she did something that a few moments ago would say otherwise. She wrapped her arms around Eve's body and hugged her. She then let go stepping back. " You," Lilith said lifting one arm up to poke Eve's nose, while the other was on her waste. Her body halfway bent." No more crying. We won't let anything happen to you..so get some sleep." Once she was done she giggled once and stood up. Her body flickered and she was gone.
They say.... That I must learn to kill before I can feel safe But I I rather kill myself then turn into their slave Sometimes I feel that I should go and play with the thunder Somehow I just don't wanna stay and wait for a wonder

Well, if it's not real You can't hold it in your hands You can't feel it with your heart And I won't believe it
Eveline Valdigraph Eveline gave him and Beatrix a small smile and nod. She grinned as Dadrik picked Beatrix up and watched her cheeks change colors. She knew that Beatrix never liked being picked up. Even when they were little. She was always lighter than herself and she always wanted to baby her but Trix wouldn't have any of it. Eve found it rather cute. She smiled to herself as she watched them leave.
When she heard Lilith's voice she looked over at her as she approached her. Her body stiffened for a moment from surprise when the woman hugged her but it relaxed. When she poked her nose down at her nose making her go crossed eyed for a moment. She shook her head and rubbed her eyes then gave the woman a slight nod "Alright..thank you.." she said in her soft voice and watched her leave as well. She then slipped into a night gown and went back to her bed. Later on she would go to the inn and speak with Beatrix.
The fur on Beatrix's tail puffed out and her face turned bright red. Her ears lowered and she looked up at Dadrik with her mouth open to object but she quickly closed it. Trix gave Eve a little wave and a small smile. "I'll see you later. Make sure to get some rest." she said before she was gone.
When they appeared in the room and Dadrik set her down in the bed she looked up at him with a frown. How embarrassing right in front of Eve. it wasn't the fact that he did it, it was how reacted to his action. In a way it made her feel weak. She reached up and pinched on of his cheeks and pulled. "Dadrik Da'vion...You know, You could at least give me a fair warning before you do that..and before I forget....where exactly did that rose come from?" She let go of his cheek and crossed her arms. "I know I didn't take it with me when I left here." she said as she crawled onto the other side of the bed and grabbed her bag. She dug through it for a moment and pulled out the cloth that she had it wrapped in. She waved it around in front of him and smirked. "I knew it. It is still here." she set it down on the bed and shook her head. "I wasn't going anywhere to far away and it really wasn't that dangerous. Nothing that I can't handle. Did you really find it necessary to plant one on me?" she asked with a tilt of the head.
She understood that she could be a danger to others at the moment but she felt as though her flame has been drained out of here from when the collar was first taken off. Clarence wasn't here anymore and the sons weren't in town yet. So she did go back to the house at a safer time. She let out a sigh and shook her head.

No sleep No sleep until I am done with finding the answer Won't stop Won't stop before I find a cure for this cancer Sometimes I feel I going down and so disconnected Somehow I know that I am haunted to be wanted . As Dadrik was about to back away from Beatrix, he felt a pinch on his cheek. Beatrix had grabbed it and pulled him close. He had a half smirk on as she spoke of him warning her about picking her up. "Well maybe if you didn't like it so much. I would stop." He said sarcastically. "You should be used to it by now..." He said with a quick nod after she let go. "Plus it gives me a sense of...I don't know, relaxation If you would say." Dadrik told her. But then, she brought up the flower. 'Damn...' he thought to himself. " Well...." he turned away and walked away a bit. Stopping in mid walk. He was done with the excuses. " I know that Beatrix." his voice changed, a more serious tone coming to. " Truth...well I know you can handle yourself. And that my sister was with you. But it was a precaution. My sister blocked me from her mind so I could not tell what was happening. It was just another step for me to get to you quicker if anything did happen. I did not plan on you seeing Eve or her breaking it. But even if I did, I doubt it would of turned out different. You see..." he paused for a moment and looked over his shoulder. " I did not do it cus I did not trust you, or that I think your weak in anyway. Your the strongest girl...well besides my sister of course." he said shooting over a look to her, as she just giggled a bit. "that I know." He finished turning his body slowly to meet where his eyes were looking. At Beatrix. " If anything were to.....happen." he stopped himself. " Well I just made sure nothing would." He told her as he came to the bed side and sat by her. He leaned in toward her coming just a few inches to her face, as if he was going to kiss her but stopped. He may have wanted to, but it was not him forcing it on her. " You see......I can't stand by and let something bad happen to you. Weather it be far away or not. I found it necessary for my own satisfaction." Dadrik finished but did not move. "I....." He stopped at that and just looked her in the eyes.

What a shame we all became, xxxxxxxxsuch fragile broken things, A memory remains, xxxJust a tiny spark, xxxxxxxI give it all my oxygen, XXXXXXXXXto let the flames begin, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOh glory... ~+~Beatrix~+~
Beatrix sat quietly as she listened to him. She opened her mouth to argue with him about picking her up but quickly shut it when she heard his reason. She let out a soft sigh and decided to give up on it. Her ears twitched when she noticed the change to his tone. She watched him walk and a light blush appeared on her cheeks. Trix rubbed the back of her head and looked away. She didn't really believe what he said. I'm the strongest girl? Err well of course besides Lilith. I'm sure she could take down a bear or two with out breaking a sweat. She couldn't help but grin as the image of Lilith wrestling a bear popped up in her mind. That would be a show.
Trix shook her head to get rid of the silly thoughts and looked up at Dadrik. Her ears lowered and her gaze dropped the the ground. She did feel safe with him close. With her master gone and her collar in ashes she was finally free. At the moment she really didn't have much to fear from because of him and his family. Trix felt the movement in the bed when he sat down next to her and she looked over at him. Her eyes met his as she listened to him. Lilith was right, he did care for her. She could hear it in tone and his words. A soft smile appeared on her lips as she looked into his eyed. She reached up and gently touched his cheek. As much as she wanted him to complete his last sentence she wasn't going to ask about it. Instead she slowly leaned in and lightly pressed her lips against his giving him a soft kiss. Trix remembered that Lilith was still in the room and she quickly pulled away from him. She had a feeling the woman was going to tease her later about this.
Beatrix's gaze dropped to the floor once again. "I don't wish to worry you, Dadrik....I still fill as though I'm a burden. How many times have you me now? I just don't want to keep having you drop with what you are doing because I can't take care of things on my own. I'm tried of walking with a limp...I don't want to put that kind of stress on you." she ran her hand through her hair and shook her head. "I can't control my flame, I've had people on my tail all the time, and trouble seems to seek me out half the time." Beatrix's gaze met his and she gave him a shrug. "You said yourself that you're not going to around all the time...The last thing I want to make you do is worry about me." She reached out and gently took one of his hands. "I shouldn't make those who are important to me worry."

Tell them all to never fear Tell them what they want to hear Tell them all the blissfull lies Watch them leave with hopeful eyes... Eric Halen Your Fortune awaits --------------------------- Eric slowly chewed up a small piece of steak. Quietly, he swallowed, and looked up from his plate. The small bit about not liking what they were really got Eric. Suddenly, he understood why learning Maarick's race was so difficult. It had to be that way, as the mysterious man didn't like his race. Eric knew what that was like. He didn't like that which was in his blood, and it wasn't something that could be remedied. Now, more things made sense. This was actually taken as another hint by Eric. He was obviously something that would be viewed as some sort of evil, or monster, though it didn't seem that way. Eric took a bite of his salad, chewing at swallowing it.
A small clinked sounded as Eric placed his fork back on the table. Maarick had asked if Eric had looked into the future to find the answers. "Actually, I never thought about doing that. I'm not sure why. I guess part of me knew that it wouldn't work." right then, Eric closed his eyes, to once more test a theory presented by the mysterious man. Of course, he got exactly as predicted: Mental static. Eric sighed. "Well, I guess you understand the future better than I do. You say it's coming to us fast? I'll believe that."
Finally, Eric brought himself to answer the first question that he hadn't asked. "Emerald reaper, Phantom blaze. I think I've heard those titles before, though exacly where, and from who, I can't remember." Eric pondered for a bit. "They sound very familiar. Extremely familiar now that I think about it. What are they?" Eric retrieved his fork, and began to cut off another piece of steak with his knife. ...Let them waste their wealth on you though you say what isn't true Go and live to your delight The fortune teller strikes tonight

No sleep No sleep until I am done with finding the answer Won't stop Won't stop before I find a cure for this cancer Sometimes I feel I going down and so disconnected Somehow I know that I am haunted to be wanted . Dadrik's eyes widened a bit as he felt her lips come in contact with his. He was leading on to that, but did not expect her to come though to it. His eyes only stayed wide for a moment but soon they fell close even though it only lasted a second. His eyes stayed closed even after she pulled away, but he listened to every word she said. When he opened his eyes, she was slightly looking down. Beatrix took his hand and explained to him how she felt. Most of what she said he disagreed with. "You are no burden Beatrix." He reached out to cover the top of her hand that was on his. " I help you because I want to. Ninety percent of the time I'm not doing anything that important when something happens. So I really do not mind. And even if I was doing something, weather you like it or not I'd drop what I'm doing for you. There is three of us, if something needs to be done one of us can handle it for one another. That's what our family does." Dadrik lifted his hand off of hers, and with the one that was in hers. He lifted it up and kissed her on the top of the hand. " You do not put stress on me, you could never." He slowly put her hand down and smiled at her. " No matter what, I'm going to worry. It's in my nature...to care is in all of my families nature. Even when you gain full control of your flame, I'll still worry. As strong as my little brother is.....I worry for him all the time. Its not your danger that I only worry about....Its your happiness, your sadness....Weather you have a place to stay. So me worrying is going to happen even if your not in danger." He said with a bit of a sigh, not a sad sigh but one that sounded like he got something off his chest. " You are a part of my life now. And I would put myself out there for you. Weather you want me to or not. I will not let those important to me be left behind in any way.." He was trying to bring about the words to tell her how it worked for him, but for some reason he couldn't explain it properly...he was lacking in this explanation. He was at a loss of words almost. " I don't know if I'm putting it right but....thats how it is. You need not worry about me worrying. It does not bother me to be hear for you...and I will be in an instant if I have to. That I promise." He told her leaning in and kissing her forehead.

Beatrix's ears lowered as she listened to him. Perhaps her worries are silly but what she had learned on the street is that if you are a burden to others then you will be left behind to defend for yourself. No support or contacts. You should be useful in anyway. Guild rules that she had to learn a long time ago. Though she had left that life so long ago she had always kept the rules in her mind. That was another story that she didn't want to talk about.
Even if it's in his nature I don't want to make him sorry anymore then he needs to. With all the worry his hair will turn whi- she glanced up at his hair and shook his hair. ehh..its close enough already..It really wouldn't be much of a change.. Her blush deepened when he told her that she was apart of his life. Her tail wagged slightly against the bed and she closed her eyes for a moment when he kissed her forehead. She let go of his hand and slipped her arms around him, gently hugging him. "Alright Dadrik...Perhaps my worries are a bit silly...I'll try to put them at ease...but I can't guarantee you anything." she said softly.
Beatrix let out a soft sigh and closed her eyes. Exhaustion was starting to catch up and grab a hold of her. She wanted to sleep right now. Just for a little bit. So much has happened to her she didn't know how much more she could take. First she fell off of a building, died, was resurrected, freed from her collar, had to deal with her flame problem, trained, then there was that voice in the back of her mind. It was so familiar to her but she couldn't' place her finger on it. In a way it scared her but she didn't know why. I'm probably just going crazy...or maybe its stress..something...she thought. Then as if it was waiting for some reconginion the voice spoke again. 'Thats what you wish I really was' The voice purred.
Her tail puffed out and her eyes widened. Oh shut up...dear gods I'm taking to myself...in an unhealthy way..I need sleep...I'm just tired. Thats all. She gripped on to Dadrik and looked up at him. "I'm tried...could you..just lay with me for a little bit? Until I fall asleep? If its not too much.."

Selael The Pyromancer
"It's the Quiet Ones you have to watch out for..." Selael bowed deeply before the Princess and adjusted his robes. "If I may take my leave, Princess, I will get to work on the Ark and the Security Measures..." He then walked out of the library, heading first to the tower to inscribe the Ward there... He prepared the ashes and then began writing them on the ground of the tower chamber... The area he chose of the tower was more of a walk-in closet, a place that would normally be quite out-of-the-way and inconspicuous. When he finished inscribing the ward with the ash, he cast a spell on it.

"Vive Incantatem." When it was cast, the runes briefly glowed, then went back to having no light at all. At this juncture, Selael pulled out a bag of sand from his pocket and covered the inner circles in it, pulling out another back of sand to be sure, coating it in another pile of sand. At this point, he put the bags in his pockets and went outside to gather more sand... Before he did, he remembered that he had to have more of the original ash, then pulled down part of his robe and rubbed some of the ash onto his chest, to ensure that it went in and didn't fall off. Placing his robe back on, he went out to the desert to gather more sand...
He then re-entered at the permission of the guards into the cellar... After finding the ideal space which was out of the way and big enough for the ward to be constructed on without being accidentally triggered, he began entering the ward again... The same ritual followed afterward of pouring sand onto the center, only this time a great deal more of it, since there was more room in the cellar. When he finished, he went back to his home, just outside the castle and went to his own cellar.
Inside the cellar was a magnificent, golden box with handles on either side. The box was adorned with a Phoenix soaring from its lid, and all over it were inscribed protective runes and spells, all of which Selael began to carve back into clarity, re-infusing them with a Vive Incantatem spell to actually have them work. The requirement to open the Ark without setting off the traps was different than the wards... This one required that the person opening it be of the Shalehem Family. After several hours, the Ark had been finished in its re-enchantment. He'd conclude that night by reading up on the liturgy associated with the Ark, preparing himself to create his diversion...

No sleep No sleep until I am done with finding the answer Won't stop Won't stop before I find a cure for this cancer Sometimes I feel I going down and so disconnected Somehow I know that I am haunted to be wanted . Dadrik smiled as Beatrix spoke of trying. Even though he knew it wouldn't work out, that was how Beatrix was and would always be. He knew this and was ok with it. So he did not push this any further then what has been. Dadrik looked over to his sister and nodded. Dadrik shifted stood up and took off his jacket, but left his tank top shirt on. He walked over to a chair and placed it on the back. " I guess I can, but I'm surprised you asked." He said coming back to the bed, but walking around to the other side, gently getting into bed. He barely made the bed move as he got on it as he lay next to Beatrix. He slightly turned his head toward her still smiling lightly. Waiting for what she would do next.
Maarick shrugged a bit at Eric's answer. He knew of them it seemed. " Well, I was actually just pondering the rumors you've heard of them? It varies from place to place you know. Some say they are myths, some say they are monsters. " He replied to Eric then sat forward again. " That all that is left after a known attack of The Phantom Blaze is a rare, one of a kind black fire. And The Emerald Reaper is in the name. Before his attacks people say there is a emerald sparkle or haze in the air. Which is also the cause of the rumor of The Emerald Wind. And everyone that has been killed by this 'Thing' never saw it coming. That no one knew what happened? And for the Phantom Blaze, no one who has claimed to see him, or had been around has no recollection of what he looks like..." He continued to tell Eric. He tried to make it seem like he wasn't talking about him or his brother, but the black flame would give it away. " There is also rumors of them killing randomly. Being monsters, destroying whatever they come by. Rumors of them trying to bring down everyone...and Rumors of them just being in the wrong place at the wrong time...a fluke to say.." He said with a bit of a nod." Those are what I have heard...I just want to know what you have." He said with a bit of a smile.

Tell them all to never fear Tell them what they want to hear Tell them all the blissfull lies Watch them leave with hopeful eyes... Eric Halen Your Fortune awaits --------------------------- Another piece of steak was chewed and swallowed before Eric spoke. "I can't remember what rumors I've heard of them. They didn't seem important or useful to me." Eric took a sip of water as he began to ponder what Maarick had said. "They do sound like quite the duo, assuming they work co-operatively. A one of a kind black fire, and an emerald sparkle in the air. What an interesting occurance. You almost make this pair sound like an ungodly killing team, the way that you say that they attack, and that the victims never see their death coming, or their killer." Eric took a quick bite of salad, chewed, swallowed, and went on. "What a rumor."
Eric began to cut off another piece of meat when suddenly, he stopped. He let go of the fork and knife, and looked at Maarick. "I'd like to say that you are not the best at hiding things, but you probably worded it like that on purpose. You said that the Phantom Blaze leaves behind a one of a kind black fire. I've seen black fire before, and it was pretty weird for fire. It was actually when I was helping to steal the feather. Unless my memory is getting worse, it was Dadrik that used the fire. On that note, you talked about the green sparkle causing rumors about an Emerald Wind. You used some sort of wind to pull out the chair for me when we came here. Now what are the odds?" Eric removed his fork and knife from the steak, and placed the on the table. ...Let them waste their wealth on you though you say what isn't true Go and live to your delight The fortune teller strikes tonight
