yeah, the Bible talks about having a clean mouth...taming the toung and such. no slander or filthy language.

Yes, I see where you're coming from.
"The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks." (Luke 6:45)
This is the verse my TrueImages Bible gives me for swearing. It basically says that, as Christians, we need to be "the salt and the light" of this dark world that God commands us to be (Matthew 5:13-14). Basically, we need to set an example for the rest of the world. My personal connotation with swearing kind of rules that out, because that's something that EVERYONE does, and it really does seem to me, deep down, a dirty habit. It really must be the connotation, because I really can't think of why else. To me, it really just seems impure. I honestly and truly think that it's best to try to set a good, clean, pure example, but there's obviously nothing I can do to change anyone's habits. That's God's job.

Not a problem the thing is, with the constant evolution of language the so-called "bad words" can be used both in praise and in curse. since we are told not to let both curses and praise come from the same mouth (i disagree with that calling but we'll ge tinto that later) the it is nto about the words used but the context. Amen to the magical word CONTEXT, never take anything out of context, the words are, just what they are WORDS, it's their usage that can make them into a deragatory word, if they arn;t used to bring someone down, then they have no potency or ill effects.

It's all about using what's appropriate for each situation, some people hate it, some don't care..........whatever is accepted, use it....simple
