"Ah, I see," said Ki-chi. Her eyes left Tawny for a moment as she spotted some movement out of the corner of her eye. It was a rabbit, nibbling at something in the bushes nearby. Something red.
"Oh!" She said, excited. "I think that's some kind of berry bush over there near that rabbit! I haven't had anything to eat in a while..."

He turned his head towards the rabbit. Then smiled. "Well, there's tasty grass everywhere." He said as he looked about the grass next to him. The grass in front of him was shorter then most of the grass from him eating it. "Most rabbits come around here to much on the grass."
He'd never actually looked for berry bushes around here. Though some bushes that were around here had good leaves he munched on. "There are some good leaves on that bush near the bunny. But there isn't any berries on it."

"Darn... Berries are my favorite food, especially red ones!" She looked down at the grass. It did look kind of tasty with the little dew droplets clinging to the blades. She carefully selected a blade and munched it.
"Not bad." Ki-chi said, chewing the grass thoughtfully. "It has a somewhat minty quality to it." She took a bigger bite, deciding to be more adventurous. Ki-chi looked up at tawny as she was munching and grinned, knowing there must be green juice all over her teeth.

Tawny chuckled. "Oh? I don't think I've eaten many berries before. I stick to the leaves and grass." he said with a nod. "I can't remember what a good berry taste like." He added.
He smiled. The green on her teeth wasn't very noticeable. It was the pieces of grass that stuck to her teeth that were. "You've got some grass on your teeth." He said with another gental chuckle. "Would you like to get something to drink to help you wash that down?"

"That sounds like a great idea." She replied. She looked around her; she had forgotten which direction the stream was in. Of course it was behind her. She grinned at tawny once more, stood up, and bolted for the stream at full speed. Judging the distance carefully with her motion, she lept into the air, and landed in the water with a big splash!
She swam to the surface and took a breath of fresh air. "Come on! The water is divine!" She called out to Tawny. She didn't know if many other Ulaya liked swimming, but it was one of her favorite activities as long as it wasn't too cold.

Tawny wasn't really a swimmer, more of a viewer of the water. It's beauty was good enough. Though, he didn't want to leave the other alone to swim with herself. He carefully walked over to the edge of the river. It took him a couple minutes for how slow he had walked.
He gave her a gental smile and dove into the water. He wasn't that great of a swimmer, but he was good enough to stay afloat. "It does feel nice, doesn't it" He gasped as he reached the serface of the water. Spitting out bits of it inbetween each word.

Kirei - Chi laughed. "You must be more accustomed to land... I've cooled off enough, and I'm sure the grass has washed away from my teeth and muzzle." She started towards the bank, and climbed back up on to land. She shook off the excess water vigorously, her bushy little tail waving like mad at the end.
She turned to face the water to make sure Tawny was alright, and to see if he might need help getting out. She didn't think he would, as he seemed fairly strong, but just in case...

Tawny tried to laugh, but got water down his throat and coughed alittle. Swimming towards the shore, he crawled out of the water much like a cat would after getting thrown in. He looked pretty pathetic. Finally standing up, with bits of dirt chucks and grass clinging to his wet fur.
Me made sure he wouldn't get Kirei wet at all and shook his body like a dog. Then his tail, then each one of his legs. He now looked like a fluffy puffy creature. Hair sticking up from being wet. Made him look alot fluffier then normal. He chuckled as he started to lick one of his paws.

Seeing that Tawny made it out of the water just fine, Ki-chi started grooming herself. Shaking out had dis-aligned her fur, and she didn't want to look silly in front of someone she had just met.
She looked over at Tawny, and he was doing the same. She licked herself for several more minutes and then did a body check. It looked good enough.
Walking closer to the male, she asked "So, is there anything you would like to do? Or do you want to sit and talk some more?"

He saw he could no longer keep them where they were, and smiled. "We can do whatever you want to do." He said looking up at her. His hair was still messed up, but he didn't care.
He stood up and smiled again. "Where to?"

She smiled at him, liking the decision he made. "Let's see... it's getting kind of dark now. I think there's a lake not too far down the river, do you want to walk down there?"
The air was still warm even though the sun had gone down. The light breeze felt nice against her body, and the fireflys were just coming out to shine their tiny lights. It was a beautiful night, and she was glad she had a new friend to share it with.

He nodded. A walk sounded ok. "Sure, do you know which direction?" he wasn't totally sure about the area behond the place he normally just stayed. "I mean, I don't wonder off from my sleeping area too often." He chuckled.

Ki-Chi looked up and down the stream, trying to think of which way she remembered the lake being. "I think it was downstream from here... it shouldn't take that long to get there either."
She started heading in that direction, then stopped and turned to wait for Tawny.

Tawny nodded and followed her down stream. He had to admit, it was nice having company. He'd been alone for so long, that he had forgot the joys of feeling another ones presence. "I really must say, I'm rather glad you found me today." He said as they walked
"I haven't had company for a very long time."

"Oh really?" Ki-Chi asked. She thought about it for a moment. Now that he mentioned it, she hadn't enjoyed someone else's company in a long while either. She wasn't the best liked Ulaya where she came from, and that was one of the reasons why she left.
"Yes," she said. "It's very nice to have company, and good company at that." She smiled at him, and looked down at the river. The sound it made running over the rocks and pebbles was very soothing, and the light breeze brought the scent of spring along with it.
"Oh look!" She exclaimed, as she looked back up from the riverbed. "I can see the lake just ahead!"
