Mooby the Golden Sock
I'm a huge fan of
The Twits, Matilda, and
George's Marvelous Medicine. I've lost count of how many times I've read the former two.
Also, I absolutely LOVE "The Man from the South," "Lamb to the Slaughter," and "Beware the Dog."
Speaking of short stories, who has read Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery"? Or what about "The Lady or the Tiger?"
The tiger.
She's the spirit of your sorrow and the reason for your tears... |~^.[
George's Marvellous Medicine! ^.^ I love that one too.
Hyper: One of my friend's lecturers for sci-fi recommends Neuromancer, so I do plan on reading it eventually. I hear that The Matrix takes a lot from it as well, so when I read it I'll be looking for the links between the two. (I do hope it's better than The Matrix, though - that movie was definitely not as good as my friends told me it would be.)
I mainly read fantasy - David Eddings, Tolkein, Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, Phillip Pullman, Terry Pratchett and Garth Nix are just a few of my favourite authors. (And JK Rowling, of course, but doesn't that kind of go without saying?)
