Blossom, you're missing the point. Just talking to people NEVER EVER works. Not in situations like this, not unless it's loud and obnoxious and sticks in people's memories like the big ol' piece of crap that it is.

It isn't just the effing inside jokes and stories. It is the rotten attitudes of many of these members.

IF we indeed DID get more members I ask the same thing Polar did. Would they stick around or would they leave because of the bad atmosphere? Newbies looking for guilds look for acceptance and warmth. This guild used to have those vibes to it! But then TMO and Jiggy and Fresnel seemed to disappear. It got from bad to worse after that.

If I was a newbie, I would never want to be in a place that is so uninviting. Even older members who are finally taking a crack at becoming guildies would be difficult to keep around, IMO.

I have a theory that the inactivity is not because of the lack of active members, it's because the members who ARE active don't want to reply to threads they didn't create or were created by people who aren't in the clique. Unless there's something they can pick at or demean or insult in that thread.

Newbies and new members to guilds don't need that kind of crap. No one does.

I usually don't reply to threads unless I want gold or have something to say about it. As far as being uninviting, I remember a certain member of this guild getting angry at me for not capitalizing an I in my post. I didn't feel very welcome then.

How is that an insult? I was asking a question.

I mean, really, I was simply wondering if he meant his statement as a joke or as an insult. If it was a joke, I didn't exactly find it funny (I have heard a deviation of the line with 'I'm free of all prejudice; I hate everyone equally' which is slightly more offensive but a little funnier).

You see, this is why the guild is uninviting. You say one thing and people gang up and attack you.

There's no ganging up going on here. You asked for an explanation, and Jeoc said what he felt. Giving an explanation for a disagreement with your opinion is not the same as attacking you.
As for my posts, both of them were a product of my very dry sense of humor.

No. I posted that the post mooby made was sarcastic, expressing an opinion in agreement with you. And you attack me for it. Its barbaric, rude and quite honestly, makes me consider leaving entirely.
