Zenith was confused. She had wings, why would she not want to fly? Wait, she had said she didn't want to try flying... which meant that she couldn't... or wasn't very good at it anyway. He watched as her tail flicked in a manner that gave away her embarrassment.
However, before he could say anything, she yawned so loudly her jaw audibly cracked. Wincing a bit from the sound, he stood and brushed himself off. Holding a paw out to her she gave a half smile, "Well, how about I walk you back, that'll be less rude, right?"

Ashe rubbed her jaw, massaging away the pain. Finding an orange-yellow paw in her vision she looked up and blinked in surprise. Had he just offered to take her home? More importantly, was she going to let him come to her house? She sighed inwardly as another yawn threatened, Might as well...
Taking the offered paw, she stood, brushing off the candy that had accumulated in her fur and bending down to scoop Coatl up and wind him around her neck and body, making sure he was secure and comfortable, at least for the duration of the journey.
Shrugging she looked at him, blushing a bit from embarrassment, not that any normal numa could see in this darkness. "I kweh sssuppossse not..." She grumbled softly, freeing her paw from his and folding her arms over her chest, "But you kweh don't ssseem like the type to do ssuch a thing without kweh planning sssomething asss a kweh bit of revenge." She shrugged and looked at him suspiciously, still not trusting him even slightly.

He smiled as she actually took his hand. He has assumed she would have just pushed it away... maybe it was because she was tired that she even willingly touched him.
It was true, no normal Numa would be able to see her blush, but he didn't have normal eyes. His glowing light sensitive eyes saw her blush as though it was happening in the middle of the day. Smiling, he decided not to say anything about it.
"Revenge for me walking you home? My dear Ashe, why would I want revenge for such an honor?" He inquired, laying it on a bit thick so she didn't hear the genuinity in his voice."

Ashe rolled her eyes, retracting her paw from his smoothly, and stroking her companion absently. She waved her other paw, walking away a few steps, "Becaussse you are kweh Zenith, and I have kweh yet to sssee you go a sssingle day without a kweh prank of sssome ssort." She replied calmly, tail flicking after her.
She didn't wait for him, impatience and a general dislike of being conscious much longer egging her on. She reached the edge of the forest and melded into it, walking through the green leaves without a second thought. She was used to blending into the forest, especially when it became dark. Maybe Zenith would see, maybe he wouldn't. That was his problem.
She yawned again, glancing about for the landmarks she was sure were there. Coatl hissed something soft, curling tighter as he slept on, content to be in his mistress' presence.

Zenith watched her walk away for a moment before trotting to catch up, walking slightly behind her, allowing her to lead the way through the tree's. Truth was she did blend well, fortunately he was able to see, though mostly becuase of the moving shadows.
"I never harm anyone. It's all in good fun." He added, sounding a bit insulted. She made it seem as though he was a cruel person that thrived off of hurting people.

Ashe paused, looking back at him, golden-yellow eyes glinting in the soft moonlight that managed to get through the leaves and brnaches of the forest, "Ah. I sssee." She replied simply and turned away, weaving through the bushes and debris and trees that littered the forest. She hardly ever used a path, she knew this forest far better then anyone else she knew.
After a moment she paused again, "Be careful, kweh fire-tail," She warned, the slightest smile playing across her lips, "It isss kweh easssy for wings to get kweh entangled in here." She tilted her head to the side, "And try not to kweh ssset anything on fire, it'sss too kweh late to deal with that." She yawned again, amusement dampened by how tired she was. It was beginning to make her a bit cranky.

Zenith swung his tail so that it was in front of him, and he was holding it between his paws. Tucking his wings in, he ever so briefly considered lighting something aflame, just for the heck of it... but then realized he was trying to get Ashe to LIKE him.
"Ah, yes, I see." He ducked under a low branch to follow her, "So you live pretty deep in this forest, eh?" He asked casually.

Ashe glanced back at him, almost raising a brow at the comical stance he made with his tail between his paws. "Not really," She replied finally, brushing past another branch, "We kweh live off to the kweh ssside of the foresst," She shrugged, lifting a branch out of her way, "Near a kweh waterfall." She smiled slightly, "It isss kweh sssoothing to lisssten to kweh at night."
She shrugged, glancing back at him again, "I mussst kweh warn you," She said finally, "My family issss kweh rather large and they kweh will want to meet you at kweh sssome point." She shrugged, "But don't kweh worry, you'll probably kweh never ssssee them again after the month isss kweh up."
Actually, she wasn't succeeding very much on her part of the deal either. Hadn't she said she'd get him to like her too? Ha, unless this idiot was in to verbal berations, she didn't think he was liking her very much. Oh well, as long as she didn't end up with feelings for the fire-boy, she didn't really care.

"Don't worry." He said, rolling his eyes and forcing a smile, "I'm sure they won't care who is your boyfriend as soon as you explain to them how much you hate me." He almost let go of his tail, forgetting the fire was there, but quickly clasped it again as he remembered.
"Buuuut if by some chance they want to meet me anway..." He smiled, "I'm sure it'll be just fine." He pictured a pretty gingerbread cottage by a grape soda waterfall, it seemed like a lovely place to live. He usually liked sleeping out in the open landscape, not that he didn't have a home. He was just born under the night sky, and it was how he liked to wake up. Though a lot of times it was too bright out to really sleep properly, now that spring was here.

Ashe stopped in her place and fully turned to look at him, "Okay," She began, gritting her teeth and running a paw through her hair, "I don't kweh hate you, alright? I can't kweh hate anyone who hassssn't kweh done anything to dessserve it." She hisssed, eyes flashing.
Turning her head away and starting back toward their destination she glanced back, "Don't asssume my kweh family won't care about ssssomething kweh like thisss, you don't kweh know them well enough to judge." Who was she to talk about judgement though? She had judged Zenith right when she first met him, the arrogant, flirtacious jerk that he clearly still was. Her judgement at least, was clearly accurate.
Minutes passed with silence and she sighed softly. If Zenith was trying to woo her, he wasn't doing much better then her. She had read romance novels (and swore she'd never go into that section ever again) where at least the male did something drastic that left the girl in a position where it would be clear whether or not she would be won. Ashe was sure she would be able to beat this boy in the game, but at least if he did something of that sort it would make things interesting! As of now it was just fight after boring fight.

Zenith was startled when Ashe rounded on him so unexpectedly vehemently denying that she hated him. He blinked his glowing yellow eyes, betraying his shock at her actions and words. He cocked his head as she turned away again, looking a even more worn out.
" I didn't mean to come across as though I was judging." He said, quickly trying to defend himself, "I was trying to reassure you. I don't want to you worry about something because people usually are able to read that emotion which in turn causes them to worry." He frowned and swished his tail. Though she claimed to not hate him, she sure didn't try very hard to show that she didn't.
He lowered his gaze, rather upset because this female so obviously didn't like him. He reached out his paw and touched her paw lightly for a moment, "I'm sorry I make you so angry." Sure he was a trouble maker, and he enjoyed play fighting, but he had never been so truly disliked before, and it made him feel a bit depressed.

Ashe stopped again, an ear flicking backward as she listened silently to his words and denial. "You didn't kweh reasssure me," She replied softly, "You kweh made my dissslike of you quite a bit kweh worssse." She sighed, shaking her head a bit, both to dismiss his words and shake off the urge to just fall down and sleep.
"Zenith..." She turned around fully, reaching for him with a paw, snatching up his head and cradling it in her palm. She brought it closer to her, until their faces were mere inches apart, "You need to kweh underssstand sssomething..." She breathed, yellow eyes half-lidded and the barest traces of a smile gracing her lips. "You have done nothing to kweh dessserve anything other then kweh my dissslike..." Her gaze flickered to his mouth then back up, "Ssso unlesss you kweh do sssomething..." Her lips pulled back in a real smile and she gently shoved him away, "Neither of usss kweh will win."
She spun around and strode away, both amused and proud over what she had done. Perhaps now there would be something interesting happening with this little bet they were having.

Guh, guh guh... that was hawt! Was all he could think as he stared wide eyed and slack jawed after the green female who had never looked so attractive. As she turned away he shook himself as though getting morning dew out of his flame licked coat. Smacking his face with his paw, he dragged it down his face as he watched her go for a moment.
Coming to his senses with that slap he trotted up to her quickly. "What kind of something did you have in mind?" He was confused, she was sending crazy mixed signals. One thing was obvious though, she didn't like him, but she was giving him a chance.

Ashe looked back at him, the silent triumph of provoking him into a reaction hidden from his face, "Mm?" She murmured, looking at him squarely. She ran a paw through her hair again, eyes half-lidded.
"I kweh don't know," She replied, "You're the one who kweh isss sssupposssed to be the flirt kweh, remember?" She gave him a toothy smile, "I kweh expected a bit more temptation from you." SHe sighed and gestured helplessly, "But one can't kweh get anything like that, can they?" She was provoking him again, and she shouldn't. It was just...she hated being bored and if being free from boredom meant consorting with the enemy, she was willing to go that far.

Zenith considered how he had been acting. He had been holding back, but he had been trying to get her to like him. Turns out he had been making her bored? His face slowly broke into his familiar smirk.
"Is that so?" His eyes lowered to a half lidded position, making his smirk that much cocksure, his voice practically purring sensually as he stepped closer to the attractive green female, "I'm sorry I haven't been... entertaining... enough.
