Alexander’s paws had surprisingly good traction on the wet ground. He slipped only a few times on the wet grass or the mud. The pup wasn’t too worried about being caught by Ravii, he knew she wouldn’t harm him. Some wolves just had this aura of kindness around them, Alexander thought. The female he was playing with was one of those wolves.
The blue pup chuckled a wolfish chuckle as he heard Ravii’s ‘threat’. He would have to see about that. Alexander kicked his legs into overdrive and aimed for top speed. The pup was far from unfit. Being a loner made him much stronger than a packed pup at his age. He had to hunt daily, which meant running after prey. He also needed to be strong to take down said prey. On top of that, Alexander was a larger-than-average pup, which helped his cause.
Thinking that the older female must be faster than him, Alexander tried some evasive maneuvers. He darted unexpectedly and quickly through some tree trunks. Just as he was about to make another turn, Alexander blue hind leg slipped out from under him. The rest of his rear end slid next, collapsing the runner into a helpless pile of puppy.

((Alexander did grow up in to a sexy youth. x3 *kicks her short post and apologizes*))
Chasing after the navy and cream pup, Ravii was pleased to see that his serious demeanor had slipped in to a more playful sort. It was good of the wolf to be able to juggle when it was time to lead and when it was time to chill out and play. A healthy pack needed a good mix, and if Alexander could only master both, nothing would stop him.
Ravii was sure, with experience, time and a little luck she'd no doubt be hearing more about the little alpha before her.
Through the mud and rain, Ravii kept after Alexander. She was as surefooted upon the mud and muck as one could expect. The occassional slide caused the dirtied cream wolf to work to stay after the pup, especially when he began to outmaneuver her.
Not quite as young as she used to be, the female blinked as Alexander lept to the side. Slamming on the breaks, she tried to leap after but the mud caused her to come to a sliding, skidding hault that stained her stomach, tail and rump. At least she hadn't crashed muzzle first in to a tree!
Regainning her footing, the wolfess turned around and trotted through the underbrush, finding the navy pup in his own muddied puppy pile.
"You're good," she laughed, . One of her paws reached out to playfully swat at him. "But I think the mud defeated us both."

(( <3 That he did. One million apologies for such a late reply. I was engulfed by real life. But spring break is now over so I have returned. :3 ))
Alexander’s ears twitched as he heard Ravii sloshing swiftly towards him. He also saw her spill in the mud, which made him feel less embarrassed about his own slip-up. The blue boy was usually very agile and sure-footed, but it seemed no one could be perfect. Especially no one that young. When he was an adult, Alexander thought, maybe he and Ravii could have a rematch.
Mouth extended toward her paw in attempt to retaliate her bat with a n**. However, Alexander’s teeth fell short of his target. The pup licked his mouth playfully, crystal eyes staring up at the muddied purple female.
“Yeah, looks like it did.” Alexander agreed, standing up. He shook out his dirty fur, and promptly sat down to lick a few of the muddiest spots – much like a cat grooming itself.

((No worries! All is well. *grins* RL is always first and a priority, so fear not about the delay. n_n ))
Ravii couldn't help but chuckel softly at the little one before her. Despite being alpha-bound and a bit on the serious side, he was indeed a pup through and through. A delightful little one, and his boldness would serve him well in the future.
But, with all good times, even the best of moments couldn't last. The drizzle and rain was starting to come down harder despite the surrounding foliage to keep them safe. Shaking out her coat, sending a small shower of mud and excess water out, the blue eyed femme cast a gentle eye on Alexander.
All her running and playing would come at a price - she was thirsty and needed more energy. That meant hunting was in order but with all the past trails washed clean from the rain, it would take her a bit longer to discover any nearby prey's whereabouts.
And even if she did discover a wild hare or flock of grows, there was still no guarentee she'd be swift enough to capture it. Yes, the wolfess could well indeed go hungry for the next few days. Peering at the grooming Alexander, Ravii gave a gently laugh and licked her nose. "Good luck cleaning the mud away - from the look of things, I'd say we're not going to be clean anytime soon."
Ducking her head, she gave the navy blue pup a gentle poke with her nose. "I do fear that a meal is in order, and alas, I have nothing to spare." She didn't know when the last time Alexander had eaten, but her stomach was completely empty. She couldn't give the blue one anything even if she tried.
"I know you will but, call it the mother in me talking. Think you'll be all right and able to find yourself some sustinence. . . .?" He was far too little to learn how to fish or hunt the sort of prey Ravii needed to bring down. So she couldn't offer to take him with, not this time - especially with the mud as slick as it was!
Hunting large game was best done with others and during the dry times - snow and slush and mud always upped the chances of injury and death. And for a puppy of Alexanders size, large as he may be . . . . .
Ravii just couldn't risk it.

Alexander licked and mouthed at his muddy coat, bothered by how dirty it was. He knew it didn't really matter what he looked like, but it was uncomfortable. Oh well, maybe it would serve to better camouflage him with the terrain and foliage. He gave a happy puppy yip as he stood, focusing on Ravii once more.
Grumble, grumble.
The navy pup let out a subconscious whine of hunger. His recent awakening was finally catching up with him. And just when it was starting to rain harder. Oh well, there was at least one target that didn't hide from the rain. Fish. And searching for fish would clean him off too!
The pup turned crystal eyes to the stained female. "I know one way of cleaning off my fur," the pup beagn, standing up and wagging his tail once or twice. "Going fishing."
Alexander knew Ravii needed to find food as well, which meant... they had to go their own ways now. But he knew they'd meet again in the future. The blue pup looked up, "I guess this is goodbye for now?"

Ravii allowed her mud and rain sloshed tail to wag behind her. So - the little navy one had been taught the art of fishing! Good for him! Part of Ravii wasn't surprised - Alexander seemed to have a good head on his shoulders, and it only made sense that he should know how to fend for himself. Afterall, it wasn't as if he were completely clueless - she'd learned, afterall.
Blue eyes bright, the female nodded at his words. "I suppose it is for now, Alexander, but I should hope we'll cross paths again. Perhaps under a bit more sunnier circumstance."
Laughing softly, she bowed down on her front legs in a stretch. "Keep safe, now, and good luck with the fish." She knew how slippery the things could be! Tail wagging, the wolfess turned from the blue one, and slipped in to the surrounding underbrush. Fishing would a last resort for the female - she hoped upon hope that luck was with her this dreary evening. Perhaps she'd startle a rabbit from its den and feast upon its children, or better yet stumble across a young doe and its mother. She couldn't take down both, but one or the other would suffice.
Hopefully, her little blue friend would be as lucky in the hunt as she - but at least now his scent was known. It would make for tracking him down a lot easier than hoping that chance forced their paths to meet. Like Nen and Bindi, Ravii could only hope their puppyhoods were much easier and simpler than her own. She wanted to impress upon them that if they ever, EVER needed anything . . .she was there.

Alexander nodded in wolfish agreement. Sometimes the rain was nice, but other times it was just… ick. At that thought, Alexander gave one last half-hearted shake of his coat before setting off towards the river. He was fairly far from his favorite fishing spot, so he figured he must search for a new one.
The pup watched Ravii slip away into the forest before raising his nose to the air to gather his exact surroundings. The meeting with the older wolf had put him in good spirits for the day – so he was sure he’d catch a fish. Alexander always seemed to fish better in a good mood. With one last shake of his tail, the pup turned and trotted away towards the water. Who knows what else the day would present him with.
((The end!! <3 ;3 ))
