Yeah... while Cainus makes a good point, what makes the drow elves chaotic is the fact that they do have very strict codes, but none of the Houses uphold them (and are even applauded for their efforts to act against the codes).

For some reason, alinment wise Chaos is almost always so must more popualer then Law
just why is that? because of the alure of being able to do whatever you want without direct consiquence?
I wonder if the Drow would still be as popualer as they are if they were instead incredably Lawful <.<

in D&D I try to play a Lawful charicter most of the time, but every time my party members look at me like I'm crazy because...

In all the ways Drow are chaotic, they are also lawful when you think about it. There's a system of punishment for not following the laws there as well. Like when a House attacks a House, if the attacker doesn't kill all of the nobles, the attacker gets destroyed.

When I play DnD, I'm usually Chaotic neutral. DnD's kind of my way of escaping from real life, it's fun to do whatever I want in it.

I tend to have to follow law because my allies tend to get our group in trouble and someone needs to be totally good and charismatic to get us out of trouble.

I usually play as true neutral, though I think two of my characters are chaotic, and I have a paladin, so you have to play as Lawful Good.

hmmm i tend towards chaos because chaotic people make the balance though they don't care of the outcome of their deed as long as its good/evil besides as far as looting goes i think lawful character tend to gain rewards over loot so after killings and such who would leave all those magic items behind not me i kill i take biggrin thats chaotic

When I start most of my characters, I usually start them as chaotic-good. But in at least two cases I've come to realize that they're more along the lines of neutral-good. They have some sort of a code of ethics, but they're not so stuck in the mud that they'll push it aside of the situation warrants it. They'll also break every rule on the books in order to uphold what they believe to be right at any given moment, as long as their own personal code isn't too terribly violated.

I do have one character that I'm determined to play chaotic-good the way I think it should be played; absolutely no code, just doing whatever is right at the moment. And I have to be careful about this character's alignment since she's a cleric of Kord.

Heh, that's pretty funny.
I'll put that quote up there along with
"You're not the DM of me."

I go as an evoker so I have an obligation to be lawful because of the rigourous training a mage must go through to be considered so as a mage my tendicies lean to lawful

I almost always play chaotic neutral or evil, although I do have a lawful evil monk on one DnD campaign. It's either chaotic or evil, in the best case both. I prefer chaos. I had a NE ninja but it got killed so I made a LE monk... And I have a bard/cleric who is CN and a warlock who is CE. I also had a CN bard.

"Chaotic neutral means never having to say you're sorry..." xd That's awesome
