I also organize it by type (t-shirts, sweaters, socks, etc.), then by the type of wear (sleepwear, casual wear, formal, etc.).

..........::::::::::::::::.............:::::::::::::::............ Honestly, I don't organize my closet. I just dump all my clothes in any empty space I can find. It's no use to organize my closet cause everytime it's in order, i'll just dig in my closet for whatever I need and chuck it here and there. OR...I put them in one huge laundry basket....and just dig out what I'm going to wear.
They don't get all wrinkly...and if they do...I can just...iron them.
Too lazy to hang them. >.>

pants, skirts, etc go on one side
the other side is shirts
above the shirts is collared shirts
i share a closet with my sister, as well as all my clothes. Most of the shirts are hers because at my school, I am only allowed to wear collared shirts

Hmm...
I put boxes of toys on the top shelf.
Various clothing in the mid section from uper to lower wear.
Belts, and other accessories on the sides of the hangers
Then swords, guns, and ammunition on the bottom.
