Nita skidded to a stop.''Hmm..''Slowly she went up to the small calf, watching as he tembled.''Dont worry, your to youngto be huntted, I wont hurt you..''As Nita spoke, cold air blew about like fog with every word, her voice seemd cold like the winter but there was a hint og kindess.Nita slowly reached out to the Calf, moving her hand under his cold furry belly.''here you go..''Nita pulled him up,until he got to his hooves.''Run along to your family, I wont hunt you today..''Nita gazed into the small calfs eyes for that one moment. ''But as the years go by I wont be to far behind.''Nita rose to her feet, the bear skin boots coverd with snow flakes.The huntress caught sight of a stag, bounding near.''I better go.''Nita knew when it was a good time or a bad time and this was a bad time.She leaped up onto a rock then ran off.
Hitanie called out to her calf, then bounded back to him.''Feanaro, are you all right..''Hitanie nuzzled him, a small tear fell off her frosty grey cheek.''Come now, my little one, I'll protect you..I just hope your father is ok.''Hitain looked to the direction that they ran from.''Please be safe.''Hitanie nudged Feanaro softly on the cheek.''Come now, we need to get to the thicket.''Hitain began to walk slowly, for her coat could blend with the snow.''Feanaro, keep close to me, ok..keep so close you can feel the warmth of my love for you.''Hitanie loved her son so much and she was die if anything would happen to him.

Feanaro stood stunned for a moment. confused, dizzy. he thought Man was something to be feared, yet this man walked up to him, jabbering in a language he did not understand.
she continued to shiver, starring bemused at the place the human had run off to.
snapping back he looked around at him mom as she approached him.
not saying anything, he felt like he wanted to cry, but was to confused to.
keeping very close to her this time. grateful that they were moveing slower.
keep silent he just walked with his loving mother.
Pride ran as fast as he could. something drawing him to a stop. eyes turned down to the snow, he noticed a break in the hooves praters of his mate and child.
lowering his head he frowned.
"Feanaro fell" he muttered.
now moving towards the other prints... very different prints
eyes widening in horror his head shot up again
"man!"
had man gotten his family?
he continued on "HITANIE!" he yelled as he ran.

Hitanie looked down to Feanro, nuzzling him against his cheek, a golf frosted like tear fell off the hind's cheek.''i'm glad your alright my little one..''Hitanie looked right up after hearing her mates voice.''PRIDE..''Hitanie called out to him, to humans it would sound rather wierd but to them it was normal.''PRIDE..we're over her!''Hitanie called out to her mate once more,nestling her son close to her.''Did that human hurt you, Feanaro..''Hitanie looked down to her son,''I thought I lost you..''Hitanie nuzzled her son once more then called once more to her mate.''PRIDE..''The colr hurt her throat so she stopped calling but waited.

ears fanned forward his heart nearly stopped when he heard Hitanie calling back to him. Not saying anything she continued to run where he heard her calling. Following the sound of her voice, until he leaped over some small bushes, finding his mate and young son shaken up and standing in what foliage was left.
Not saying a word he hurried over to his family, running the side of his cheer along hers in relief.
Glancing down to see Feanaro he lowered his head to the little one. Getting close to look all around him for wounds, running his nose over his chest and belly where he definitely smelled man.
But finding no wounds he striated up and looked at Hitanie, seriously "come on" he said, continuing on, pausing to look back for them to follow him.
Feanaro stick close to him mother, shaking his head when she asked if he had been hurt. Ears flattened back against his skull.
Jumping in surprise at the sudden appearance of a very large Stag, that he later recognized as his father as he approached his mother.
He did not say a word, even as his father starter looking him over. Frozen with nerves, staring at the Antlers so close to his face, the gleaming coat, much resembling his, but with a dark undercoat. When his father striated back up, Feanaro retreated under his mother, peeking out only slightly to look up at the Stag.

Hitanie nodded and slowly walked behind Pride, sticking close to her son.''I'm glad your ok.''Hitanie walked close to her mate and nuzzled the side of his cheek softly, looking back down to Feanaro she nudged him in between herself and Pride.''You'll be safe, my little one, your father and I wont let anything happen to you.''Hitanie gave her son a soft and motherly smile to reasure he was ok.Hitanie looked back forward and snorted.''I'm glad its spring and the snow is melting, that means man wont come to the forest as much...I hope.''Hitanie had a slight bit of concern in her eyes, what if she were to have calf again and man were to come to the forest, what would happen then?Hitanie snorted slightly and walked on.

Pride glanced down at his Son as Hitanie positioned him into a safer place, nestled between them as he lead them off, away from the clearing. it would still be quite some time before he would be able to take his son into the field. and start to get to know him better. but for now it was important for Feanaro to stay with his mother. and an excellent one she was at that.
Resting his eyes on his Hind, he quickly nuzzled her back. though in more of a hurry to return them to the safety of numbers with the other Hind.
stopping at the edge, he looked out into the feild, where the rest of the Hind were.
turning to gaze lovingly at Hitanie, he gave her a more meaningfully stroke across the face. he wanted to spend more time with her, but he just had to hold on a little longer, Anlach would be here soon. he would get his chance then.
"go, stay with the other Hind, I have to go inform the others of Man in the forest."
glancing down at Feanaro one last time before he started back,
"and do not worry, the Outrider will keep you safe,"
and with that, he darted back off into the forest.
Feanaro watched his father go, then looked back at his mother, "we are safe mama?" he asked softly, a little consern in his small voice

Hitanie nodded and soon looked down to her son.''..''How could she tell him that they were safe?, after all there were so many dangers in the forest, not just man but lera too, but Hitanie loved her son too much to say he wasn't safe.''Yes, we're safe.''Hitanie gave Feanaro a soft lick on his muzzle and started to walk down to the other hinds.''Come Feanaro.''Hitanie spoke softly then spoke again.''Oh by the way, your antlers are growing.''Hitanie tried to think of ways to cheer her son up and to make him feel better, so she thought that commenting on how good his nubs were growing would work.Hitanie watched the other hinds that were prancing about with their own calves, shaking her head slightly she smiled back to her son and waited for him to walk by her side.
