Maen Jamaican Cyclone I'm not gay, but Manabe makes me question if I am. i second that meh...i don't think of looks as being an attribute for anyone in the band actually. but i remember thinking Sawao looked really hot on the back of the predators album.

(i'm bumpin this old topic up because i didn't want to start a new one to ask this question and it sorta fits the topic a little)
Did the pillows used to have more/different members? I remember seeing a live video that looked really old of them playing some song I'm not real familiar with where they had 5 members on stage. The lead singer was definately Sawao, but neither of the other two playing guitar looked like Manabe. The one who was playing lead looked a whole lot older than Manabe does now and this vid was probably more than 10 years old. I couldn't get a good look at the drummer but he didn't look like Shin (though he might have been Shin 10 years and 2 billion packs of cigarettes ago). Also, doesn't Moon Gold, as well as a few of their older cds, have 4 members on the cover, instead of 3 (none of whom look like Manabe)?
A second, simpler question: How old is each band member? Shin always looks twice Sawao's age and 3 times Manabe's (of course, Manabe always looks like he's no older than 20).

He dropped out in like...92? After that the bassist was tatsuya kashima, and since 99 it's been Jun. You only see Kenji on album covers and s**t because he was there when they first started. lesse, instant music says Sawao is 39, Manabe's 45, Shin's 43. dayum.

The way he handles his guitar... whee really, and i think i speak for maen with this one too, i avoid instant music because i like to have conversations in here. it's more fun than doing research on my own. i mean, the reason i joined this guild was to talk about them and NOT to get a link to instant music every time i said anything. i mean, seriously, do you see my point? i want to ask because i want to have a fun, interesting converstion. seriously, i'm trying to break this conflict we seem to have between us because i'm tired of fighting you. i really want you to see my point of view here. also, i had no idea that manabe was so old. he looks like the youngest of them all and yet he's oldest. weird

Well, the conversation actually comes after both sides have the information and can discuss it. It seems more that you don't feel like looking for it, and it's not fair to ask us to take the time to explain things to you that you can easily find on your own. I'd rather actually discuss things with you than explain things to you all the time.
Also, I was pretty shocked the first time I found out too. Manabe looked like he was like..22 when he was 38 lol.

It's fine when people look things up on their own BUT I've already said anyone who wants to ask questions here can. If you don't feel like answering someone's question, don't...I answered Lance's though, because I didn't mind.
I'd say all three of em are doing pretty damn good for being 40 or almost 40. 3nodding I don't think Japanese people age, period.
