My hair is far from the typical emo.....
Heheh...
but if it is short (like mine)
spike in the back or fauxhawk.
=D
plus, having "emo" hair doesn't make you emo.
I cut my once-emo fringe to go against this whole rising half-face look.

You should dye the back a light color and the bangs a dark color...maybe black. Then you should spike the back. Spike it any way you want. I spike it so its all over the place...so it looks like I just got out of bed.

this is my ideal hairstyle, and i'd think it'll work for you.
grow it out a little, about down to the bottom of your face and then make a sort of diagonal line, shorter to the back. i've seen it it;s awesome. works with straight hair. wait did you say your hair is straight? dunno, ok, just suggesting.

well my hair is still growing out but I'm gonna get a hair over the eye thing and spike it in the back with some red tips here and there
