Yes, as of lately Son'y s crap-tastic ability to make consoles probably makes up for a percentage of sales they had. But does anyone remember the old Graystation? I still have mine, and it STILL works perfectly.
Granted, I only use it for the Final Fantasy games I own for it, but it still works as if I had just bought it.
actually, the PS2, PSP and that battery tat went all asplodey are the only things i've ever heard of as having problems. Seems consoles is about the only thing i wouldn't trust Sony with....and maybe laptop batteries
as for when you told the lady at the restaurant to get a gamecube:

RIIIIIIIDDDGGEE RAAAACCEEERR!!!!! and ridge racer is sony's cry for attention. they think that using the PSP in connection to the PS3 is gonna be of help? Nintendo did that with the GBA and Gamecube! they're just ripping off the connectivity feature Nintendo is using for it's handhelds and consoles! if nobody says sony is ripping off Nintendo after the issue of the PSP and PS3, then those people were blinded! the GBA and Gamecube connection has been around before sony thought to use connectivity, and Nintendo is continuing the connectivity with the DS and Wii! sony is just trying to make a buck off of ripping off Nintendo!

Crystal Chronicles was on the Game Cube, Chronicles was on the playstation, and featured Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger, I believe.yeah, Mystic Quest was it! I was low on memory in the brain area. I dont pay much attention to titles unless it's something that's real interesting. t was Mystic quest, and at least in FFMQ the crabs were tough! not like in that lameass PLAGUEstation3 game with the giant crab! you wanna make an enemy crab with a weak point, then make the weak point the spot you gotta attack to hurt it, not kill it in one shot! I chould create a better enemy while on the toilet with my pants down! seriously! I could drop a s**t and it would be a tougher boss fight in a video game than sony's giant crab! you know what? that crab should be sony's only mascot! THE ONE HIT KILL WEAK CROTCH CRAB!! HIS TICKER IS IN HIS JUNK AND YOU STAB HIS JUNK TO KILL HIM EASY! thats the PS3! a one hit kill crab that looks intimidating, but the moment you find out it's weakness BAM!! like droppin Don Vito's fat a** on a chihuahua! INSTANT DEATH!! Note: Don Vito is Bam Margera's uncle. the PS3's fate is simmilar to the Neo Geo, but be mindful, nobody is gonna wanna pay $500 or $600 in their right mind on a console thats gonna register their games, break, and forbid your current games from playing on the replacement which will force you to replace your entire gaming library. PS3 = DEAD get a Wii and save some cash on more games! it's a good deal!

Do you have proof of this thing about not being able to transfer games between systems? because that doesn't make sense. with any other kind of disc, once it's burned and finalized, there is nothign else you can do to it, so there wouldn't be a way to make it only work on 1 system....
and I realise Sony is stupid...but COME ON, no gaming company IS THAT STUPID
not like it matters to me though, as I don't plan on EVER getting a PS3, i'll play one at a friends house IF any of them get one, but i'd never waste 120 hours worth of work on a gaming system and not even get any games at all.

Sony reps said they were making the PS3 a Blue Ray Disc reader and burner drive, so it means the data will be stored on disc, as well as on console. a small ammount of unused space on each PS3 game will remain to allow a purchased PS3 to put a registration lock that will crash the game if played on another PS3 since the disc will be registered to the PS3 you bought it for. this means that even if you make a Blue Ray disc that plays all of the games you used to play, modified in a PS3 console, you can never sell it or even let someone borrow it because without you knowing the registration code is locked into the current PS3, when that PS3 crashes or breaks your games will need to be replaced as well. so sony is thinking a dirty business practice, make it break easy, make sure they have to rebuy EVERYTHING they bought with it, all the software will need to be replaced, so that ******** up the day of ANYONE who was retarded to buy a PS3! buying a Wii, you dont have to worry about much, your Wii crashes or is destroyed? just buy a new Wii, yeah you'll have to remake the Mii's you lost, but it'll be more reason not to let it be destroyed again. speaking of Sony, those sick bastards showed a PS3 commercial just recently displaying an UGLY looking baby sitting in front of a PS3, I mean this baby wasnt ugly like the dancing baby, I mean so UGLY that it would make Shao Kahn have second thoughts about conquering Earthrealm! I liked how Wii isnt succumbing to poorly made advertisments, Wii is basically known by word of mouth! so advertisment almost isnt nessecary, and with so many features with Wii it's worth more than the PS3 in terms of the price, a damn good bargain for Nintendo faithfuls. ^_^

Well thats not true I asked Blizzard company(the guys that brought you Starcraft, Diablo, and Warcraft) in their office and they told me about this new release of the Starcraft first person Shooter thats coming out for the Wii and 360(not starcraft ghost/ haha PS3 didnt get it!!)In this game, you can either be a woman or man commando in the war for justice against these insect-like -aliens(I dont play starcraft anymore.) And If you played starcraft and saw the beginning movie, its fudgin' scary. Imagine a thousand giant insect against four soldiers *reminds me of that movie:starship troopers* Now think in your mind that all your friends(commandos) are getting chopped in half , you have no vehicle of any kind to get out and it takes one round (alot of bullets) to just kill one alien when you only have three rounds. .................................................................................
Fudgin' scary.......................

I'm a protoss player, and I'd like to play from the Protoss POV. a game following Zeratul's life, reinacting classic Starcraft battles like killing the Overmind, and tangleing with numerous Zerg. cloaked so stealth is needed like in a ninja game, using various skills, exploding death by stabbing an enemy, use the Wiimote like his Warp Blade. or even follow Fenix's life as a Zealot, or follow Aldaris' rise to Judicator. I wanna see a Starcraft Protoss related game! and I dont wanna see delays!

not like it matters to me though, as I don't plan on EVER getting a PS3, i'll play one at a friends house IF any of them get one, but i'd never waste 120 hours worth of work on a gaming system and not even get any games at all.I have heard research from people of various types, the information regarding the game registration tech will be burned into each PS3 disc someone gets. Sony reps said they were making the PS3 a Blue Ray Disc reader and burner drive, so it means the data will be stored on disc, as well as on console. a small ammount of unused space on each PS3 game will remain to allow a purchased PS3 to put a registration lock that will crash the game if played on another PS3 since the disc will be registered to the PS3 you bought it for. this means that even if you make a Blue Ray disc that plays all of the games you used to play, modified in a PS3 console, you can never sell it or even let someone borrow it because without you knowing the registration code is locked into the current PS3, when that PS3 crashes or breaks your games will need to be replaced as well. so sony is thinking a dirty business practice, make it break easy, make sure they have to rebuy EVERYTHING they bought with it, all the software will need to be replaced, so that ******** up the day of ANYONE who was retarded to buy a PS3! buying a Wii, you dont have to worry about much, your Wii crashes or is destroyed? just buy a new Wii, yeah you'll have to remake the Mii's you lost, but it'll be more reason not to let it be destroyed again. speaking of Sony, those sick bastards showed a PS3 commercial just recently displaying an UGLY looking baby sitting in front of a PS3, I mean this baby wasnt ugly like the dancing baby, I mean so UGLY that it would make Shao Kahn have second thoughts about conquering Earthrealm! I liked how Wii isnt succumbing to poorly made advertisments, Wii is basically known by word of mouth! so advertisment almost isnt nessecary, and with so many features with Wii it's worth more than the PS3 in terms of the price, a damn good bargain for Nintendo faithfuls. ^_^ it's the PS3 hardware that is gonna break, the games if in excellent condition wont be permitted to play on another PS3 due to the existing disc being registered to the current PS3, and if the PS3 breaks it means you gotta replace EVERYTHING in it, the console, the games(even in working condition), the controllers(which likely get registered to the console too). so sony is making their s**t break easy, their customer service suck, and their prices high, so while they're rakeing in a HUGE profit, you're forced to think why you keep wasting time and money on sony, a company notorious for making garbage thats ripped off from other companies work, and prides itself on overpricing thier rip-off garbage! old saying: a copy of a beautiful thing is an ugly thing. Wii: beautiful thing. PS3: UGLY thing.

agreed, this is way too rumor-laden to accept unless I get some definite proof, though from how business is heading in this world, this kind of thing is in no way out of the realm of possible choices a business would make stare
