Bumpdate!
Huuuge update, guys! Anzer Pex is now a working language, hehehe. I think this justifies a third-post-in-a-row bump. No one else posts here, and it's my thread, so nyaaah :b
Verb tenses and some other forms are now up.
The SEM (Subject End Marker) system is up, but subject to change without prior notice. This system mainly includes the Explicit Grammatical Moods, as opposed to implied moods achieved by using modal verbs and stuff.
Try forming a sentence! This is the basic syntax:
(verb)(tense marker)(subject)(SEM)(object)(predicate*).
You don't have to conjugate anything.
I've also got a whole veritable SLEW (yes a slew, believe it) of vocab on the way!
*Predicate technically includes the verb and anything that isn't the subject, but for my purposes, it really only includes anything after the subject end marker in an Anzer Pex sentence.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the only thing, aside from a complete lexicon (vocabulary), all that really still needs to be done is the State Conversion system. That is, I need to finish the system for taking a word of one natural state (noun, verb, etc) and using it as a word of another state (noun used as adjective, etc). That's gonna be the potatoes in my proverbial meat and potatoes of Anzer Pex.

Bumpdate!!
This time, I've added the Demonstratives. These are the words that mean "this, that, these, those" etc. In typical Anzer Pex style, they come in the main parts of speech: noun, adjective, verb and adverb. There is also an abstract/reflexive set.
The next addition I'll be adding should be mostly vocabulary. I really need to bulk up the lexicon so I have more room to work with. I'm planning to go through a "basic word list" and establish a base of the most common words so that you can at least say something useful in Anzer Pex. This will also allow me to finally work on the State Conversion System.
Speaking of the State Conversion System, that should be the next big update after I add in vocabulary! Ohh, I can't wait. Maybe then, I can work on Maccetu a little, without feeling like I'm betraying Anzer Pex sweatdrop
EDIT: Forgot to add... There are a few more rather important things that need to be implemented. Conventions for forming compound words, complex grammar structures and usage (including co- and sub-ordinating conjunctions, independent and dependent clauses, etc), idioms (fun!), and methods of quotation (and other less obvious concepts) are the main ones I can think of right now.

ANZER PEX CONTEST!!!
Hey guys, I dunno if anyone will read this post deep in my conlang thread, but I want to announce that I will be holding a little contest soon.
The contest will involve translating or somehow proving to me a minor but considerable understanding of Anzer Pex. I'm doing this primarily as a test to see if Anzer Pex works for other people the way it works for me, and I think it's far enough along now that you can express some pretty complex ideas rather accurately. I just need to bulk up the lexicon a bit before I do this, as well as double check everything and tweak anything that looks unbalanced.
I'll make a topic in the guild main forum once the contest is about to begin. I'll try to leave plenty of time for people to decide if they want to or are able to join by waiting a few days after the main announcement before the contest actually starts.
Oh, and there will be a "cash" prize (probably 2,000 gold, give or take depending on the difficulty... I'm not rich :b ) to the winner, and a smaller prize to the runner up. Winner will be decided based on who was the first to be the closest to being right, so taking your time will probably get you a better chance of winning.
Start studying!
PS: The contest will probably be held sometime around mid May.
PPS: I may go all out and make the contest harder, and actually buy a Donation Letter for the winner and just give the runner up(s) cash (cash meaning gold)!! whee

Serali88 I like the script alot. Can I see more samples? Do you have any other scripts? 1. Thank you! 2. Yes you can. 3. Yes I do. I made a font for this conlang's script, but it's fairly crude and I'd need to tweak it a lot before I give it out to anyone. It's also difficult to use because Anzer Pex has more than 26 characters, so some keys don't produce anything, some produce different characters when caps or lowercase. Just remind me in a few days if I haven't posted anything new.

Just a few things to say.
1. I'm putting the contest on hold, even though I haven't started it yet. I have a lot of stuff I want to add before then, and I'm fixing to leave town for about two weeks. Although I will still have my laptop with me and probably have Internet access wherever I happen to be, I don't want to worry about the contest or anything while I'm away from home. I'll be busy with other fun stuff. So, the contest may happen around mid- to late June if I'm back by then.
2. As I just said, I have a bunch of stuff to add. I've cleaned up the writing system graphics with better, cleaner examples, and I plan to tweak the font a little better. Hopefully, I can have the font completed and released in time for when I plan to actually get around to the contest.
3. I've recently bulked up the lexicon. I plan to do quite a bit more additions over the next few weeks, so there will be a lot of basic (read: necessary) words and some more complicated ones in time for the contest.
4. I have a couple of people who may actually be interested in LEARNING Anzer Pex... So I feel a little obliged to help them along and keep their interest peaked. Hmm... I may have to disqualify these individuals from the contest to prevent anyone from having an unfair advantage. ' sad '
5. Once the contest does eventually come around, I will probably offer 2 monthly collectibles for the winner, and 1 monthly collectible to the runner up. I think I can spare the $7.50 xp
Nobody gets gold... I've only got 20k and I'm saving up (questing?) for a Guitar of Demona, which is about 90k. sweatdrop

Bumpdate!!
I'm working on vocab like crazy! I plan to have the English <-> Anzer Pex Swadesh List complete within a couple of days. I also have the word list from the Raven King's Prophecy which I will be filling out as well, although probably significantly slower since it uses more words and concepts that are likely to be foreign to Anzer Pex speakers' culture.
Expect some updates in the front pages soon. I will be adding download links for the updated word lists (in .doc and .txt formats). Also, once I get the Raven King's Prophecy translated, I'll post that somewhere in here.
Oh, and I'd like to remind anyone even remotely interested in Anzer Pex that the font is available in my Fonts thread in the Conscripts and Orthography board (and I can't remember if I put a download link in this thread or not, and I'm too lazy to check).
Expect some good stuff!
Also, I updated the main post over a week ago... Most of that stuff is still applicable, I believe.
Oh, oh, and just for the hell of it, and random example!
i'x peot te'm mo-ite'm prap a'p dora-i. "icks pay-oat tum moytum prop app doe-rye" (to be) (past perfect/preterite) (*) (my) (dog) (inside) (forest) Literally: My dog had been being in the forest. Translated: My dog was off in the forest.
Note: a'p is pronounced like the "app" in "application"
Culture Note: I think "in the forest" is going to be a idiom meaning "crazy" or "off in their own little world" when used with the verb construction i'x peot te'm which is a somewhat unconventional construction. Normally, i'x peot would simply mean "it had been" and i'x te'm has no sensible English equivalent (basically, making an adjective out of "being"... You wouldn't use this as a verb but as an adjective describing something.). If you combine i'x peot with the te'm modifier, you are technically saying "the being it" in the same sense as "the existing one" (as opposed to the nonexisting one). Therefore, i'x peot te'm ___ a'p dora-i will literally mean "the being ___ in the forest." This is technically not a sentence, even in Anzer Pex, but since it's an idiom, well, it doesn't really have to be. You can use it as such, though, and will be considered acceptable.
If you have trouble understanding my explanation, just assume the example translates roughly to "The dog was as if he had been lost in the forest and thus rather delusional."

And maybe you could use that time to post more pretty scripties? mrgreen Cool-down time is something I wish I could actually do without, since my brain just randomly decides when to cooperate and when to be stubborn. I'd actually be happier if I could just chug along with no cold spots in between. Also, I do plan to come up with some variations to the Anzer Pex base writing system. I want to do a sort of cursive, because writing official Anzer Pex very neatly is great for keeping track of vocab accurately, but it's not so good for scribbling things quickly. I would also like to a "print" variation that would make a better font... Basically only straight lines and measured curves, the easiest shapes for fonts. I'll be happy to get some more samples up once I've got things going. cool For now, though, vocab is my biggest priority. Without words, what good is a pretty writing system?

BUMPDATE!WOO! heart Morphology finalized! heart This is a BIG STEP, guys! One big step closer to filling out that lexicon and getting Anzer Pex to a truly usable state. I can't wait. Check out this crazy-a** chart which basically covers all the important morphological combinations within a syllable. (Note that when I say "Morphology", that doesn't include compound nouns or anything like that. I'll work on compounding and such once I have more words which I can used to test said compounding rules.) I'd really appreciate some feedback if any of you can manage to comprehend my monster chart. mrgreen EDIT: Disregard all the future plans from the previous bumpdate. I got sidetracked, and I never got around to filling out that Swadesh list, and thus never had any download links to add. I'll get to that as soon as possible, since now I have a reliable morphological structure to adhere to, and a nifty seedable word generator to give me Anzer Pex-looking words, I shouldn't have nearly as much trouble making words. The only problem should be deciding which words to make (Swadesh list!) and which random Anzer Pex word should mean what. Wish me luck!
