*Faith walked through the train station in search of Platform 9 3/4. She saw Platforms 9 and 10, but no 9 3/4. She looked around and groaned* I should have known these stupid limeys couldn't count. *She heard people nearby and turned to see a group of kids pushing luggage carts towards the wall between Platforms 9 and 10. She stared in awe as they disappeared* When in Rome... *She grumbled as she headed straight for the same wall. She appeared in a different train station with a train named the Hogwarts Express. She stepped onto the train, her cat laying across the back of her neck and shoulders, and trunk dragging behind her. Every car she came to was packed full, with the exception of one at the very back of the train. She stepped in and shut the door. She sat down and propped her feet up on the seat across from her as she stared out the window*

McKenzie walked in silence through the train station, used to the strange looks she got as her white gyrfalcon, Horus rode on her leather clad arm. Her eyes only left their forward postion once, and that was to make sure none saw her as she pushed her cart into the wall between Platforms 9 and 10. This was nothing new to her. After all, she'd been doing this for the sixth year in a row. Peaking through her long hair, McKenzie put her trunk in the proper place to be loaded, snagged Horus' cage and her small backback, and boarded the train. Her eyes held annoyance as she passed through the packed cars, glaring at the occassional first and second years who coward at the sight of her and her bird. Finding seating was exceedingly difficult this year. She finally settled for a car in the back that had only one person occupying it. With silence she put Horus' cage in the storage compartment and entered the cab. She made no eye contact with the other girl, merely sitting down next to her feet and proceeding to pet Horus.

*Faith sat staring out the window, her hand stroking her cats sleek fur. She only looked away when her cat hissed at the person entering the car* Bast, you know better. We never acknowledge the inferior's presence. *She said as she cut her eyes up at the girl sitting of to the side in front of her. The cat turned and rubbed it's head against her cheek as if letting her know she understood*

McKenzie ignored the comment. It was so much like the others that she had heard growing up. She only calmed Horus, his feathers ruffling in an upset nature at the sight of the cat. "Shhh... calm Horus. The cat is an annoyance and it isn't fit for you to eat anyway." Her voice was a whisper as she talked to her bird, her eyes never leaving Horus and her face always serious and grim.

*Faith scoffed* Do you honestly think your puny chicken can take on my cat? I've seen her take down animals much bigger than that pigeon there. *She scratched behind her cat's ears as it glared at the bird the other woman had* If you're hungry Bast I have a snack for you that's much more healthy, and less likely to make you sick. *She looked up at the falcon before reaching into her trunk and taking out a small box and opening it. She pulled out a small white mouse and dangled it in front of the animal by its tail. The cat reacted eagerly as it swatted at the tiny rodent with its claws* Hold on. *She said as she gripped the mouse in her hand and squeezed hard, a small crunch coming from inside her fist. She held the dead mouse out and the cat snatched it up greedily. Faith smiled as her cat ate, her hand stroking the animal's sleek black fur*

McKenzie didn't react to the girl's comments. She only shushed him when he squacked in jeolousy of the cat, wishing too for a mouse. "You had breakfast already." She reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out a small leather hood for the bird, putting it over his eyes and head. He would sleep the rest of the trip and not complain at the sights he saw. Whoever this was across from her was not the nicest of people. Then again, no one really was. She let out a soft breath, leaning back into the seat as she stroked Horus. She kept her eyes closed and her ears alert.

*Faith pulled out a lighter and flipped it open and closed, ligthing the wick before running her hand over the flame. Her hand was engulfed, but she felt no pain as she moved her hand around, then extinguishing the flame as she closed her fist. She sat in silence for a while, tugging at the chain around her neck, the pendant hidden beneath her shirt. She stood and removed her black leather coat and placed it in her trunk before sitting back down*

With a huff of air, the young girl tryed to blow a stubbern lock of her short redish brown hair out of her pale gray-green eyes as she barded the train to Hogwarts for secend time in her life.

Standing at 5'2" and 17 years old, Kathryn O'Riley was wearing black slacks with a black belt and navy callored shirt with the West Coast School of Witch Craft's GrandHaven house emblem just above her right breast. Her black boots where shined and neatly laced, and her neckless of the egypen symble of 'ever-lasting life' dangled from her neck on a thin silver chain.

She cooly looked around the train for a spot to sit, her gray-green eyes ignoring everyone from behind fake-gold framed glasses as she moved on, lugging her two bags and her bird cage along with her.

As she moved down the aile to the back, she quickly realized how full th cabins here. When she came to the last one she sighed, someone was in it, but at lest it wasnt like 6 or 7 people like some of the others. She opened the door, shutting it before putting her stuff into a overhead compartment and setting her bird cage down before taking a set herself, ignoring the other girls in the car, whom didnt seem to really want to talk.

The flames had actually caught McKenzie's attention, her eyes cutting from her bird to the girl. She watched through her shaggy locks of hair, eyes following as she stood and removed her coat. She analyzed the girl with semi-interest, noting the chain she tugged upon before looking back to Horus. Attractive in body, yet not in personality. A shame. She stroked the bird some more, noting he was asleep before rising and putting him in his cage for the remainder of the trip.

*Faith glanced up as another girl entered the car* Great. Another one. *She grumbled silently. She put the cat in its carrier and took out a vile of liquid, removing the cork and drinking the contents. Her face twisted in disgust at the raunchy taste* Really wish I didn't have to take this s**t. Or wish they'd make it cherry flavored at least... *She took out a butterfly knife and flipped it open, looking over the silver curvy blade. She then began to twirl it around in her hand in boredom* What is taking so long?! *She wondered impatiently* It's bad enough I have to transfer to a new school.

McKenzie glanced at the new girl that entered the cabin, her face remaining neutral. Hey eyes cut back to the other girl, noting her finishing off a vile of liquid. She surmised it was a medication, but would have to ask directly to be sure. That was something she had no desire in doing. Her eyebrow only raised slightly at the sight of a blade. She had always had a fascination with weapons, but was never able to keep more than a long dagger and a knife since anything larger would have been a hinderance in travel.

*Faith felt eyes upon her as she flipped the knife closed and slide into the sheath strapped to her thigh* What the hell are you looking at? *She demanded as she glared at the girl*

Kathryn looked at the two girls blankly, saying nothing before pulling out a text book on advace magic theroy and history through out the world. Admitedly the young woman didnt look like a book worm, not at all skiny and weak looking. Her arms rippled with toned muscle, though still mataining a feminin look that didnt let her get mistaken for a body builder or a guy. Her build was lean, though her out fit covered most of her body as she traped herself into the corner by the window, allowing the two girls to be as she read silently.

McKenzie looked from the blade to the eyes of the girl, studying them. She reached up, brushing some strands away from her face, revealing her bright green eyes. Her stare was unwaivering, her eyes locked with the girl's. "I was just looking at your blade. It's impressive." Her voice was even, but held an irritated tone to it.

*Faith smirked, her deep brown eyes never leaving the other girl's* It's had its share of bloodshed in the past. *She said as she glanced the girl up and down, sizing her up. She turned back to the window* So I take it you're American too?
