Nyekundu growled. Old fool, leaning down the pale male tore tooth and claw at Mufasas chest waiting for him to release. He wanted him to stay down, stay down for good. To feel the pain he was about to inflict upon this supposed king of the pridelands.
Licking his lips of the blood from his lips, he could feel his own shoulder dripping blood. The would would heal, but he wasn't the one about to sit on deaths door. Leaning down close to the old males head he tore at his ear with his teeth turning the once furry curcle in to a shredded mess "know this old man, when you die, I'll come back for more of yuor cubs, I'll take them and train them and one day they will comehere and kill everyone, everything, they will turn your haven in to hell." He smirked lashing out at mufasa's mane with his teeth pulling away bloody chunks of mane and flesh. This wouldn't kill him, Mufasa was far away from that yet, this death would be slow, painful, he would make sure of it.

-Though he visibly cringed or shook with every tear, his voice beginning to become sore from the slew of sounds that'd sounded his pain, he didn't stop. Releasing the demon's shoulder he snapped, aiming for Nyek's neck and missing, though his feet landed another powerful blow. Like punches against the firm and muscular body that Nyek, with claws driven at the front.
But the words drew him upwards, shoving Nyek hard with a boost of adreniline, pushing his body to stand once again, an obvious limp touching his posture. He was better off on the ground, but he wouldn't be taken out that way. Snarling roughly, Mufasa growled, pushing himself forward, albeit slowly.- "You'll be long dead before you could ever raise an army large enough to hurt this pride. And my death, would only do in raising their guard. Mark my words demon. Your blood WILL spill across the Pridelands if you ever try to take our cubs."
-Pouncing, using his injured arm to swing a flash of claws at the demon he gave a roar that seemed to shake the very night around them.-

Nyekundu stood strong as the old geezer launched an attack, perfect. stepping aside he buffeted the older lion as he pounced his fangs reaching for a back leg catching the thin bone of mufasa's ancle he crunched, closing his jaws tightly and holding on as he pulled backwards. he had performed this trick before, on a younger female lion, but if he pulled hard enough, that crack would sound and the leg would be out of it's socket, he waited for the sikening sound his eyes glimmering.
Although he could hear mufasa's words ringing in his ears, the dark maned male was deaf to them, he was simply ensconced in this killing, he had hardly realised the first rays of the sun were pulling on the horizon until he breathed the scent of day. No mroe time to play, it was time to take the old one down, have the last of his fun and escape. Giving a final tug of the leg he had hold of, andlowering his head he head butted the older lion hoping he would fall, breathless to the ground, hoping the shove would knock the wind out of the golden king.

-It all happened so quickly, the skillful way in which Nyek manuevered and grabbed, and as Mufasa felt the bone and joint snap, the air slipped from him, his body crashing down to the ground, as claws dug painfully into the ground.
Trying hard to gasp for air, as his heavy body only pushed harder on his struggling lungs, the pain finally began to eb at him, his conconciousness beginning to wane in and out as the blood pooled around him. He'd failed them. The little baby that lie not far away, the pride, his mate...-

-Kami purr softly, a sound just barely audible despite the peace and quiet of the evening, her steps held close alongside Ta's.
One of the wonderful things about not living in the pridal den for the time being, was that they could just slip out, on a whim. With nothing more in mind the a little walk, talking about their day, perhaps a moonlit bath? No worries about waking anyone.. or anyone asking where you were going. Just freedom to move around. It was rather like her imaginary games in the past. An escape from worries and thoughts.
It was a beautiful night for walking really, the moon and stars shining brightly through the darkness. And the cool feel of the air lingered across her golden coat.
She stopped momentarily, as a sound touched her ears, flicking gently in the direction to wait for another. But when none came, she turned her eyes back to Ta questioningly-

He too flickered at the sound that brushed the lands, a soft cry that came seemingly from the star-lit heavens above, the source unknown. Pausing from his contented saunter, he just looked around slowly before a frown crossed his maw.
"Did you...hear something?" Right away, his copper eyes shot towards the grasses, and his muscles tensed in a protective stance. Moving closer to her side in an effort to sheild her from any harm, he lowered his head and sniffed the air.
After just catching the sounds of the nightlife singing out, he lifted his head and just let out a soft sigh. Turning his gaze to her, it softened lightly and he just smiled reassuringly, before jokingly asking, "Now...where were we?" It was a soft rumble of a purr as he brushed his shoulder against hers, before looking out along the moon-lit spanse and letting out a satisfied and relaxed sigh.

"I did.. but I don't hear anything else. It's probably just a bird or something?" -She replied softly, thoughtfully, more then happy to push the thought aside when he did, quickly regaining the peace of the night and stroll.
And as he teased, the softest hints of a giggle touched her, cheek brushing against his shoulder as she mused contentedly.- "Just enjoying the evening I believe. I'm just always so busy in the day. And you of course.." -She trailed before offering a genuinely proud smile.- "Always off making new friends."

He nodded at her giggle, before looking ahead of them at the night lands and just gazing at nothing and everything in the same moment. His ears and body relaxed, he looked to her with a soft shift of his head when she brushed her cheek against his shoulder, before a warm smile crossed his maw.
"You have been quite busy, and I don't know what I will do once you become queen..." He mused, "I doubt I will see you at all when that happens..." though he didn't show it, his voice grew slightly saddened by that, and he knew it would get harder for them to see eachother unless they were mates when she became queen.
"But yes, who would have thought seepish old Ta'Ziyan would make so many new friends in these lands...though truthfully if I only had one friend, I would be content with you Kami," Nodding a that, he let his voice die and for them to enjoy the walk, not wanting the moment to end with his stupid chatter.

-Her smiled faded just a little with his words, but when she spoke it returned again, a determined nod following it.- "Yeah.. but. I'll always make sure to make some time for you Ta."
"I think I might go crazy if I didn't." -She laughed again lightly, but it was probably the truth. The copper colored male brought a smile to her face unlike anyone else could. And she wouldn't last very long without it, she didn't think.
Mulling over the thought a little more she added lightly, opptimistically.- "Besides, dad has plenty of time that he spends with mom. It's just a matter of taking the oppurtunity when it arises."

The salmon male chuckled softly, his golden eyes flashing a deep, manic blood red, he had forgotten almost what he was doing, why he was here, there was only this body, this body which went on living, breathing, taunting. This death was sweet, the air filled with the scent of blood thick and heady in his nostrils, the taste of blood upon his tonge, tainting his lips deep dark red, dripping from his chin to his paws, scarring his throat with that thick, gloppy liquid.
He opened his mouth slowly showing those blood stained fangs, his nose moving to his ear, his breath hot, reeking of death. "You'll stay awake while I take my trophie won't you?" He whispers, his voice a perfectly low mur of delight. He breathed heavily in to the ear, letting his breath crawl over mufassas cheek. First thing was first.
Sitting beneath mufasas chin, the lord of the oasis pinned the older males head with one claw stretched accross his maw, talons pressing deep in to the skin as he lifted his other paw, a single claw, slowly unsheathing like a knife, then, he carved.
"V for Vengence" He whispers slowly carving the once noble flesh of the lord of the savanna, his cheek slowly taking the first long strike, his first mark. "v for vendetta" the second V, carved painfully slowly. Nyek smirked, he was enjoying this, this beast was helpless beneath him now. "V for victory" he growled quietly, the third V joining the other two, marking the great, proud, loyal king with his own brand. "You are a disgrace Mufasa, I have marked you so" The salmon tinted lord liked the elderly males cheek, revealing the tree V's unbloodied upon his cheek. "disgrace."
He smirked and stepped over the body. "Stay awake old man" he watched Mufasa's slow breathing "I have one more job to do before you die disgraced king." Laying himself down, the rightly dubbed demon once again unsheathed a single claw, he slowly sank it in tot he very base of Mufasas tail, peeling away the skin towards his rump. he turned to look at Mufasa, the pain he had to be causing, with this simple, slow torture, he revelled in it. Barring his fangs his head swiftly went down adn in a single, breathless moment, Nyekundus fangs came in to contact with the bones in Mufasas tail with a sickening crunch.
Chuckling, pleased with his little prize, after all he couldn't drag the whole fur back tot he oasis, it would take far too long to skin, and would be far too heavy to carry. He tossed the now disjointed tail in the air flinging it around above his head like a play thing before he came back to Mufasa and ticked the old kings nose with his own tuft. "I'll keep this to remember you by should I?" he chuckled dropping his prize for the moment. "It's been fun old king, but now, I must flee and you, well you must die"
He headed for the belly, one quick tear and Mufasa would slowly, agonisingly bleed to death, a fitting end, for a disgraced king.

Nodding softly, he said nothing for a long moment before moving closer and rubbing his cheek now against hers, purring still as he usually did uncontroled around her.
"A few moments in a day is enough for me Kami, I don't want to steal you away from your duty, than your advisors might hunt me down and lock you away forever..." Trailing off with a soft laugh, he just sniffed the air, before closing his eyes and taking in the breeze.
"I can't believe how much I have fallen in love with these lands, Kami..." Padding a little quicker ahead, he moved up a small hill and looked around, remembering their little game of follow the leader so long ago with a small smile crossing his maw.

-She fell silent again, only this time it was a more pleasant one, the hints of heat touching her face as his words filtered over her. Best friend or not, sometimes the words that came from him were misconstrewed by the lioness. And there was something intensely complimenting and wonderful behind the sentiment he'd just spoken.
When suddenly he padded ahead, she picked up the pace as well.- "They really are wonderful. My favorite of all too."

He failed to notice her change in persona, distracted with the flashback and the sight before them. While it was beautiful during the day, night and the stars just seemed to make everything more alive, more beautiful. Turning to the golden pelt beside him, she glowed to, like a sun amongst the stars, and he caught his breath before looking back ahead.
"I want to see these other lands, with you by my side Kami...with you rigth next to me I want to see the world and come back knowing we are in the best lands of all...our favorite of all..."
He let his words fall before settling on his belly and rolling over to look up at her with pleading eyes, a slight pout moving, "Please Kami, take me to see the world where we dont need to worry about duty and advisors looming over your shoulder, just you and me..."

-Kami blinked softly as the familar male let forth such a reaction, finding hard to drag her eyes from the young and pleasant roll and pout. Oh how she wished that she could give him that wish.
That they could run off, even if only for awhile. Just the two of them.. exploring.. no distractions. Just like when they were cubs and she'd pretend they were running through far off places, not simply the golden grasses of the prideland savannah.
But of course... It wasn't possible.. not yet atleast. She'd just left before.. and it'd break her parents heart to have her run off once again. She tried hard to repress her sigh, forcing a bit of a smile to her golden maw as she stepped forward, leaning in until her nose almost touched his.- "You know it's very dangerous out there, yes?"
-Ears leaping with the sound of paws padding along the ground and grass lashing back and forth she raised her eyes, looking for the source, body protectively taunt next to Ta's form. Though truth knew if it was really anything that scary the two would just have to run.-

It was Ausi, as it turned out. She'd met both of Kami's parents, but somehow it seemed as though-- despite living at the base of Pride Rock, she'd yet to meet many others yet. She might be recognized vaguely still however.
Some form of relief flooded the mother's eyes as she spotted the two in the distance, and made a fast beeline for them as the moonlight revealed her from the shadows of the grasses.She slowed to a stop, pulse rushing from the gallop it took to get this far. Xu was settled into the grasses at Ausi's paws temporarily as the lioness fought to get the words out around her panting, but her eyes were frantic enough to almost tell the tale themselves.
"There's trouble, at the watering hole, it's Mufasa! Rogue male with a, white pelt and black mane-- they're fighting. You have to help him!"

He was just about to respond to her comment when she suddenly pulled back, turning away and causing him to let out a soft sigh of regret. Moving to his paws slowly, he pushed up his large limbs before padding to her side and following her gaze. His tail circled around hers in an effort to sooth, noting softly that she was stiff next to him waiting for something to come.
They didn't have to wait too long, for not a moment after his copper tail circled around her golden one, he caught sight of a female rushing towards them. Eyes narrowing, he wasn't pleased to say he failed to reconize her, but still he forced a small smile as she came near, not wanting to give off the wrong impression.
And once more, that smile fell as his eyes grew wide, "Fighting?" He asked softly, though there was panic in his voice as suddenly he turned to look right at Kami, "If it is a rogue, this isn't a good thing at all...how long has it been since you left him?"
His tone was serious, having fallen victem many times to other rogues in battle, so he knew just how dangerous it could be. Rogues knew no rules, so odds were, Mufasa was not fairing well.
