lemoura In response to little_kitty_chan, the fact that she can still speak has to be brought under the assumption that the first feather she received was the feather that was most needed, ne? I thought about that before. At one point I thought that maybe there was some set order to which her memories would be gained.... that maybe the feathers don't contain the memories themselves, just trigger they're reappearance in her....consciousness....... just a thought.

Hmm...that's also a good point Naku-chan...is there anything to refute that? The feathers are a key..but all the memories are still there...I could see that...

that COULD be it....just like how in kingdom hearts 2, even if you get torn pages from different worlds, the order in which each "story" starts will remain the same, but... *flips through some of her volumes* hmm, in volume one, instead of refering to hime's feathers as "feathers", they instead say her "memory fragments" and stuff. confused then in volume 2, they talk about the whole "strong kudans=strong heart", ne? they said that her feather powers up the kudan. so...the memorys are part of her heart, ne? following that reason, the only way the feather could possibly strengthen a kudan is if her MEMORY was attached to them. neutral ..or something like that. anyway, in response to lemoura-sama... but...looking at vol three(holy crud, compared to then, hime looks WAY awake now.. sweatdrop ), it says--or more specifically, HIME HERSELF explains to chu'nyan, "all i remember...is my name..and...some people from a desert town. thats all." that means the first feather contained her name, right? confused but maybe it also carried her knowledge of language as well..? -sakura

Well..ok, that explains the Kudans, since in a way, they're "living" so to speak..they're "real." But what about in the manga, when we hit Outo? It turns the fake game characters real...how do her feathers do that?

I think in only some aspects, Sakura is like an infant. Because she can still hink intellectually and everything.
Because Sakura lost all recollection of her past, her life's fire was real low like a fire almost out, but with every feather it's like someone is blowing her fire back up to maximum. And since her "fire" is almost out, the only thing she can do to keep to going to to sleep.
I really like the part when Sakura ventures out on her own because she knew that everyone was looking for her feathers for her and she believed that they were just strangers, so she's the type that doesn't want to just watch people do things for her, kind of like an infant wanting to dress itself even though it doesn't know how to. So she ventured out on her own wanting to help everyone look for her feathers, but she didn't know how to do that.
I hopewhat I typed makes sense! sweatdrop

Rengi-kun, that is a perfect explanation for why she goes out. They also say in the anime that the feathers call to her so she goes after it with no other intention than to make it hers once again. I have to go now, but I'll expand on other things later.

that made perfect sense. but in the anime... the times where she goes out to find her feathers.. really annoy me somehow. and she wont stop glowing all the time! sheesh....
...but anyway, back to the "feather=memory or trigger" discussion... angel-chan... i hate to say it, but... even after reading that 2-3 times... i still dont get it. im lost. ARGHH! gonk -sakura

little_kitty_chan then in volume 2, they talk about the whole "strong kudans=strong heart", ne? they said that her feather powers up the kudan. so...the memorys are part of her heart, ne? following that reason, the only way the feather could possibly strengthen a kudan is if her MEMORY was attached to them. neutral ..or something like that. Ok, lemme try that again. The memories are part of her heart, so if you add the power of Sakura's heart to something that already HAS one (the kudan, nature in general, or other people-which in my previous post I called "living things"), then they will grow stronger. But then in Outo/whatever the real country's name was, the feathers gave the game itself (which doesn't have a heart) power, because all the Oni from Outo started becoming real in Chiitose's real world, because of the feather. Long story short, if the game doesn't have a heart, how do the feathers cause such digital mayhem?

For example's sake to help clarify,
If I gave a feather to something that has a heart, like hime here or lemoura, then they'd grow stronger.
But what if I gave a feather to...a paperweight? A paperweight doesn't have a heart, so theoretically it should just stay a paperweight that happens to have a pretty feather sticking out of it.
But in Outo, they turn Chiitose's game (which in this case is the paperweight) into mayhem...which is the equivalent of the paperweight growing tiny wings and flying off, or talking to you or something...how do the feathers give items like the heartless paperweight power?

Ok. I guess it's time to clarify something about the feather's power. If you remember in the anime, Arashi-san expalined that the feathers are a source of power that is unsurpassed.
Also in Piffle world, the feather would light the entire town according to the parts dealers. Tomoyo-chan realized that the feather was for Sakura and named her the heroine of her filming. It is the prize for the race. An everlasting battery that could light the entire town.
Another thing one must remember is that the feather in Oto was bieng controlled by Seishiro-san. In Oto Seishiro wished for the digital world to become real so that he could flush out the I1 oni. When all of the TRC squad couldn't defeat him in Oto, he made the digital world appear so that he could get a wish from her. The way he manipulated the feather's power was so that he could enhance the power of the wish granted by Yuko-mojo-san. He also has a time-space travel key, but his price was his right eye. He's in search of Fei Wong Reed and the female vampire with him.
Sakura has an inate sense about the feathers. The feathers call to her and make her respond, kinda like a radio station that's been dialed in on a radio. This was only seen in the anime though.
I hope that helped some.

makes sense, but... how does that explain the whole "feather=power for LIVING things"..? confused
hmm... i guess since it was seishirou--a living being(?)-- who had it, outo was able to be inhanced and stuffs. since he was a "player character", and not a computer-controled-character, it worked out. therefore, the country of outo could be changed according to his will and the feathers power.
arashi...didnt call the powers "unsurpassed", did she? i think she said that they were just an "immense power that could be a cause for a fight" or something. ...i wish i had vol 1 with me so that i could clarify of confirm the feathers powers... sweatdrop hurry up and read the series, yukkie-chan! *fist*
hey, 's just me, or is the topic switching to the feathers and not hime? confused ahh, well, thats okay...
as a side note, please remember that the vampires sei-chan are searching for are NOT fei wong reed nor the chickie underling with him(poor dear, she's dead. dead as a door knob! mad d no, but seriously. she's really dead. looks like fei-chan eliminated her~ ). there was never a mention of one of the twins being female, by the way. confused its kamui and subaru of x/1999~ (looks like we wont be seeing hokuto, since chappie 125 confirms that both are vampires... that takes up her formally possible role as subaru's twin vampie-chan...damn kamui. gonk )
as another, less importent(but perhaps might be in the near future) sidenote... sei-chan said himself that he cant control the the feather.... but whatever. thats okay! 3nodding

Thank you for the clarification. For those of us who haven't seen X-1999, we were all on different lines as to who the vampires were.
It's in the anime that Arashi-san explains the powers of the feathers. Of course, subtitles are notorious for not being done correctly.
Seishiro-san couldn't control the feather, but wasn't he using it for a purpose that would require it to respond positively? Mind you that he's the one who taught Syao-kun the martial arts. Wouldn't he have a strong heart as well?
