Um, okay. So, am I right in saying that private guilds are members-only for posting but people can still see them, and hidden guilds are members-only for viewing AND posting? o.o

Public: Anyone can post, whether they're a member or not, as long as they're not banned, and they're logged into their Gaia account. Anyone can read. You can ban non-members from public guilds; hence the "ban from public posting" option for non-members on the member list.
Private: Only members can post, but anyone can read. That's what our guild is.
Hidden: Only members can post/read.
