*knock knock knock* Tsu didn't budge from his position save for a slight twitch as he tried to shift to a more comfortable position on his desk. Currently he was dreaming of winning various grants and awards in human biology... studying scantily clad women. Luckily his papers were off the desk, else there was a good chance they'd be cover in cigarette ash, coffee spills, and drool. Instead they are over by a filing cabinet, and a nice pristine white. Devoid of any markings, including the ink from research proposals that should actually be there. In short, he was doomed for research grants once more, so he's just sleeping it off.
*Knock Knock Knock* "Hnn" Tsu groggily responded before drifting back to sleep. After all... there was very little that could take him away from the dream that was bikini clad awards girls. Even if it was a dream... Tsu just didn't care to face the reality that was NOT bikini clad awards girls. NOT wheelbarrows full of money... NOT adoring fans that came along with being around Kyou, or even making a name for himself for once. As said, not much could break Tsu out of the world where he was happy.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* "Coming" Tsu mumbled stumbling to the door. Obviously life had no interest in complying to Tsu silent pleas for a break. Finally managing to open the door to his office and temporary room, Tsu found no one in the hall. Just my luck he thought bitterly, figures that they'd go away and not only ruin my dream, but do it for nothing.. Tsu was about ready to close the door when he noticed a small scrap of paper and an unmarked box. Picking up both the box and the note, he went back into his light to take a closer look at everything.
First things first, the note. It was handwritten and a little messy to read, but Tsu could recognize his brother's handwriting. "Mai jackass darling brother, I hope you finally stop nagging enjoy this fel essence and soul bottle. Take good care of it and ask me if you have any questions, okay? x) <3" Tsu crumpled up the note after going over it once again. Anyway, why the hell didn't Kyou type the letter? Hasn't he even heard of a computer?! Talk about old fashioned. Granted Tsu only had his laptop left. His desktop fried from all the popups of conducting his research (read: going to pr0n sites). Still... the handwriting was sloppy and fully of scratching out words. Still... He smiled when he looked in at the essence.
The contents of the box were simple. A copy of notes on how to capture a soul in the bottle. Tsu had only known that he wasn't supposed to let it sit near natural things just in case the bottle decided to take the soul of something else. Then Tsu would be stuck with some boring soul for a while. Until he could flush it out somehow. That's right no souls of sea monkeys for this researcher. Putting the notes on soul bottle usage to the side where he'd read them later, Tsu then pulled out the empty glass bottle and noted the patch of cloth on it. This had to be the soul bottle.
Finally Tsu pulled out the final piece to the puzzle. A thin test tube, with a stopper pushed in tight. In the tube, a storm raged on. However, Tsu couldn't help but feel drawn towards the very epicenter of the minor hurricane pattern. For in the middle, a single eye stared back, similar to a feral cat in appearance, but still slightly off of that. A small piece of paper in Chloe's scrawl read, "Dr. Tsu, Eye of Storm". Nearly grinning from ear to ear at his present, Tsu finally had a notion about what to write for his research grants and also pulled out a research journal that wasn't being used to showcase dirty photos. Furiously scribbling, Tsu left a note in the journal.
09. April, 2006 - Day One: Plans for Project SAVIOUR have commenced. This research should help Kyou develop his labs a little more, so I shall stay on as a facility as doctor and help support where I can. I'll keep up to date about the developments as they arise.
Closing his journal, Tsu sets to work trying to find his hermit brother to pitch his idea.

"No. No. No. Maybe...? No, No, NO!" Tsu was pacing back and forth trying to figure out a good soul to match with his essence, and if it was even plausible. So far all he knew was that something wild would be the best match for the Eye of the Storm essence. Also something along the lines of something mythical to fit in with the majority of souls. Somehow a wild animal just seemed too dull after the rash of other souls he had heard mentioned. Incubus, Sea Faeries, a true muse, unicorn (was Julian truly a virgin maiden?), and a Roc. These mythical creatures intrigued Tsu and he wanted to find some sort of legendary creature to help form his Raevan. After all, this was a challenge to his competitive spirit and sense of pride.
Flipping through another volume laying around on his desk, Tsu turned to a section on Norse Mythology about the end of the world, Ragnarok. When flipping through the pages of related topics, Tsu finally stopped at Sleipnir. The 8-legged horse is Odin's steed and according to Norse mythology said to take people from the world of Midgard to the afterlife. Reading over the page again and again made Tsu more set on trying to get Sleipnir for his soul. There was only something nagging at the back of Tsu's mind, Okay, so I have a target, but how do I get him? This isn't going to be some easy task. First I need to figure out how to summon him and not his master as well, then I need to figure out how to hold him still enough to get the soul without being trampled to death. That would definitely not be something I could walk away from easily.
"First things first, I gotta figure out a mixture that would help me get that soul." Tsu muttered while digging through his stash of poisons and potions, of course only the strongest ones would be able to help in here. Taking out some poisons for paralysis in creatures as large as elephants, as well as some that could make it rather painful for water buffalo, finally a couple potions that would work to soothe animals, Tsu needed to figure out where to hunt his prey still, as well as how to summon the creature. Grabbing some of his favorite porno mags to keep him occupied for the waiting period, as well as the potions and poisons he chose previously, his trusty dagger, the metal case with the soul bottle inside, and some throwing knives and darts to use, finally one large syringe in case of emergency, Tsu threw the contents into a backpack. Food, Water, and the summoning notes would be next.
========== ==========
It was a little odd for Tsu walking through sector 3 of the laboratories. After all the hall was very similar to his section, but for Tsu, there was the issue that all this belonged to his little brother. Luckily Tsu had a lab pass directly from Kyou a few days before in order to get in to do research on summoning. I just hope Odin doesn't come with his horse Tsu thought It would probably suck to be hit by his sword, stuck by a spear, or anything else. Porbably all the bandages and potions in his supply wouldn't allow Tsu to walk away from anything. The bandages he brought probably would only be enough if he received a glancing blow from one of Sleipnir's hooves.
Finally locating the summoning notes, Tsu searched around for a copying machine in order to have the notes with him so he didn't do something stupid. There wasn't a set way to summon any creature, so Tsu was hoping to come up with the correct summoning protocol. Studying the pages of set ups and spells, Tsu finally decided on a circular set up for animal based and a location just outside the city in an abandoned tower where he goes to collect herbs quite often. The trick was going to have the elements properly. Earth, Air, and fire were needed in a set pattern and must align to a time just before the full moon. That gave less than a couple days to get out there and set up. Pulling together the notes he needed to form the summon circle, a few items he needed for the summon, and putting the notes back where he found them, Tsu headed for the cafeteria to get food and water.
========== ==========
Finally having everything he needed to go hunt herbs, as well as spend a few nights out in the field, Tsu made his way out of the lab heading south east. Away from Gambino beach and towards the outskirts of Aekea. It would take one day to travel to the tower he was thinking of, and he'd have to use the last of his day collecting herbs. Even with a somewhat early start, he wouldn't be able to summon in one night. Tsu might as well just head out now and spend the night outside the tower resting.
After the day of traveling, Tsu was completely beat. He would collect herbs and set up the circle when he woke up in the morning. Tomorrow was the big day, and he needed all the rest he could get.

"Let's see.... North is fire, west is wood, east is water, southeast is earth, and southwest is wind. A balance of the five elements are needed in the circle to bring forth the desired gate." Tsu muttered drawing a chalk circle on the ground of the highest floor of the tower. The space he was working in was nice and wide, plus a good safe distance from the places that Tsu usually haunted when looking for herbs in his poisons and potions. Now what was he going to find to use for all the elements? Cigarettes might work for fire, sand for earth, water was simple, but wood? What could he sacrifice for wood? Looking at the porn magazines, Tsu had an idea. Paper was just a derivative of wood after all, so in a pinch that might work. There were some magazines he wasn't planning to read again after all. Still there was the issue about wind. Somehow breathing into the circle didn't sound like it'd be effective. Ah well, there is still a few hours to decide what to do
========== ==========
After collecting his herbs that he needed and setting up the circle, Tsu still had some time to kill before he could begin the summoning process. Three hours to go Tsu thought numbly searching through his favorite mags for the right centerfold to put him in a better mood. Oddly enough time seemed to pass quickly as long as Tsu didn't think about the time. He almost didn't realize that time to start the summoning spell was close upon it, minus the fact he was finding it harder and harder to make out details unless he squinted hard.
Brushing off his pants, Tsu stood up. "Time to get started I guess..." Tsu muttered lighting another cigarette, "...still need to figure out wind. Maybe I will just blow on the circle and hope for the best..." Tsu had barely noticed that a storm was building outside. However the winds had picked up in the southwest, and that would save him from wasting his breath of something that might not even work properly. Opening the window enough, Tsu took an empty container, and trapped some air underneath in the circle where air element belonged. Only four more elements to complete the circle, but they were shifty. Pulling out some loose papers, Tsu moved to the northern most point and began to set the extra cigarettes on fire. Air feeds into the fire and continues the burning process. Fire was in the north and the two tied nicely. Grabbing a stack of the dirty mags he had set beside earlier, Tsu placed the pile on top of the wood emblem. Heading over to the eastern side, Tsu poured out a bottle of water he brought over the water emblem, and finally taking some dirt from around the previous herbs he gathered, he scattered the dust in the south east. Now all that left is the incantation and then waiting to see if his summoning spell was fruitful or not.
Now the incantation time. "Detekinasai, Sleipnir!" Tsu shouted out. Wait. Japanese, that wasn't right. "Uhhhh, Festinatio procedo Sleipnir" Nothing. Absolute silence. "God dammit Sleipnir! Get out here!" Tsu bellowed into the empty room. His temper had destroyed the last chance possibly to summon Sleipnir. Frustrated, Tsu turned back to his magazines to kill time before sleeping and then heading home empty handed.
What a waste. Tsu thought glumly. I wasted my last shot at summoning the horse on such a stupid plea. "Probably not even worth all that effort," Tsu spat. He probably shouldn't have turned his back to the circle, he probably shouldn't have talked bad about Odin and his horse, he probably should have brought an extra change of clothes in case of emergencies... but Tsu didn't plan ahead enough for that. For if he had bothered to keep his eye on the circle, he would have noticed that the summoning had worked by some miracle, and well... Sleipnir didn't look pleased to be summoned so abruptly. Luckily Odin wasn't around.
========== ==========
The storm was getting worse, Tsu noticed. The thunder is getting louder... Tsu thought as he turned around Like it's getting clo....oh s**t!!! Barely diving out of the way at the last second. Tsu was almost trampled by eight legs of a very displeased horse.
With no time to think of a way out, Tsu was just forced to dodge and duck each time the horse passed. The more Sleipnir charged, the farther back Tsu had to move and the more damage was spread about the room. The summon circle had closed and the gateway had been completely destroyed in the efforts of dodging direct contact from any of those hooves.
"Something tells me if I get hit by him, I'm not gonna be waking up any time soon." Tsu grinned grimly, the blood from all the cuts and scrapes on his arm. Not only his arm, but also his left leg, chest, and face were cut up or bruised. Sadly Sleipnir was standing between Tsu and his bag with both the first aid equipment, weapon, and of course his poisons and potions. Backing up against the wall, Tsu was looking to buy some time. Granted, when your oppressor has 8 legs, time is a lot shorter Tsu thought bitterly. Barely dodging Sleipnir's body Tsu's arm once again caught on some rocks and cut into his shoulder.
This is it! Tsu thought as he made a mad dash for his campsite with the bag. "Finally..." Tsu breathed deeply "it's a miracle the contents of my bag have been unscathed." The time for marveling was short lived as Sleipnir had recovered from smacking into the cement wall head on and was coming back. "No rest for the weary" Tsu muttered and moved out of the way, just in time to see an explosion of papers near where he was previously. Nothing to worry about... just my copy of... Tsu trailed off. Fluttering in the stormy wind, were scraps from his most prized dirty mag he brought along. Rage began boiling up inside Tsu. "You really shouldn't have done that," Tsu growled pulling out his throwing daggers, syringe filled with his strongest poison, and sheathing the dagger.
Tsu distanced himself once more. Mostly to buy time to aim, take his target and dodge the beast. His throwing daggers had only a mild paralysis poison on them, the trick would be closing the distance and finishing off the battle with the syringe. Even a god's steed couldn't walk from this concoction. Tsu placed everything into these last moments. Nine times of dodging and countering. He needed to make sure the poison worked into the blood stream. The calculations for countering was nine, but before the poison kicked in, Sleipnir had to make 3 more passes. Tsu's body was ragged, but he had spent most of the time protecting the bag with his soul bottle, and the syringe.
Finally the horse slowed and shook unsteadily at his feet. This was ten poison tipped daggers and thirteen passes later of course. Nothing ever goes as planned. Plunging in the syringe, Tsu kept track of Sleipnir's eyes, the only thing that the wild horse should be able to move were the eyes. Eyes that Tsu would watch as he sucked the soul out of it. Sure that meant this body of Sleipnir would die, but he wasn't about to let Sleipnir die completely. He'd just use Kyou's method to bring him back to life in a different form. Tsu took the soul bottle out of the metal case he had placed it into before stashing in his bag. Now that he was done, Tsu sat down, applied first aid as best he could, and just watched the bottle and the horse. He had backup poisons in case he needed to use them.
The battle had been long and hard, but at least Tsu would have a good story to tell if he was able to come back with the soul.

By the time Tsu returned back to the labs from his trip, he wanted nothing more than to have a hot shower and a long rest. There was a thin coat of grime covering him from the dust of the tower, mixed into the blood of his cuts as well as a splitting headache from the incessant chatter from an unexpected charge. All he had wanted was a stiff drink. Instead he got a kid? This was definitely not turning out as planned....
Letting out a long drawn breath, Tsu eased down first the cup with a small child in it, then his bag from his back and took out the herbs to store for later potions, as well as the remains of his porn mags, and finally... the soul bottle. Pausing a moment to stare at the colors, Tsu set the bottle down by the couch where he usually sleeps.
"Why are you going 'pshoooo'?" Came the little voice of Kai. Tsu still wasn't used to him talking...
"I'm just tired is all." Tsu replied before heading to the shower in his section. Peeling off his clothes almost painfully, Tsu was glad for the constant stream of hot water pouring over him. By time he got out, his kid was already asleep and Tsu was relieved. Redressing his wounds a little, Tsu moved to the couch and stared at both the vial with the feral eye and now the swirling colors inside the soul bottle. It's hard to tell how long it was before Tsu fell into his fitful rest.
========== ==========
"Where am I?" Tsu wondered aloud as he walked through misty halls. It was storming outside the windows, so he was certain this would only be his safe shelter for the time being. Finally reaching the end of the long hallway, Tsu looked around for something that would lead him to the next step in this dream. Why have you taken me from my master? a cold voice accused. "What are you talking about?! Who are you?" You call me out, and then you trap me in a bottle! How dare you?! Oh... This has to be a dream... how else would Sleipnir be talking to me? "I'm sorry, Sleipnir. I took your body without asking what you wanted. I promise I'll find a way to give you a new one." .... Very well. I will choose to trust you for the time being. However, if you betray me... I WILL strike you down.
========== ==========
Waking up, Tsu realised that it was already light out. It felt like he hadn't slept a wink at all... and he was on the floor while the soul bottle and vial were still on his couch.
Scratching his head, Tsu threw on an old tshirt and went to his door. Outside was a weird machine with a note attached.
I'm running behind on my projects. This machine will help keep the soul in the bottle longer. There is still a chance that the soul will eventually escape, so please be aware.
Dr. Kyou
Without second thought, Tsu sealed away the soul into the contraption. He went through too much pain to lose this soul. Besides, he had a promise to keep.

://Day 027
Who would have thought that the offices got so dark at night? Tsu pondered as he was walking down the cooridors of the lab. Kyou had gone out and one of the circuits had blown. Forgetting to bring along a flashlight, Tsu had to suffice with his lighter. Granted he stubbed his toe about 6 times already.
Where is that damn fuse box anyway?!? Tsu cursed. He wandered down the hallways looking each which way. Crossing the lobby, Tsu spotted something out of the corner of his eye. Rubbing his eyes, Tsu was nearly convinced his mind was playing tricks on him. However a figure stood there in front of him still, daring him to make the wrong move. Pale moonlight seeping in through the windows gave him a ghostly appearance. The hammer that he carried reflected the moonlight eerily... casting shadows across the room.
"W-who are you?" Tsu was trying his best to hide the fact he was startled, but failing miserably.
The man's voice boomed across the empty lobby, "They call me Thor." Tsu moved closer to get a better look. Probably against common sense as the war hammer would be in striking range, but he couldn't help it. He was drawn somehow. Pulling close, Tsu finally got a look at the man through the light pouring in. The face of Thor seemed young and without lines surprisingly. Hard to swallow he is the god of thunder.
"Thor..." Tsu repeated slowly, swallowing, "You look so young, but your eyes seem to say otherwise. What have you come here for?"
"Listen carefully then," Thor instructed, "You have taken the life of the high lord, my father's, steed and trapped his soul in this world. You are now charged with the well being of the soul. As told to you in the dream before... if we feel you betrayed Sleipnir, then Odin himself will come strike you down. You have been warned."
Thor turned and melted into the shadows before Tsu could respond. Suddenly the pressure was on more than ever. To distract himself from the new responsibilities for his unformed charge... Tsu went once more to hunt for the circuit breakers. Finally locating the one he needed, Tsu reset the breakers and turned on the lights to the labs again. He really needed to wipe the events of late from his brain... but he couldn't shake the sense of dread.

Taken from here. The afternoon sun shone through the little round window above Kyou's head, casting a pillar of light in front of the pooped out Kyou. It had been the third day, the third day in a row that Kyou didn't slept at all. A large empty coffee pot and a coffee mug with a domo face sat beside the pile of Kyou's notes, drained right down to the last drop.
After the chimera hatchings, Kyou had written a long and detailed report about the chimeras. But there was one thing that's bothering him still. If the only way he could create a chimera is by combining magic and science technologies, how can chimeras in the ancient days existed? When science was so undeveloped? And since 3 days ago, Kyou had started to do a detailed research on the histories and myths on Chimeras again. And once he starts, he will be so engrossed into his researches he can't stop to rest. Not until he passed out from exhaustion.
Dark shadows had long lingered under Kyou's eyes, and he can barely keep his eyes opened, but he cannot sleep yet! Tsu will be coming over anytime soon to pick up his newborn Raevan, and he don't trust Lazarus being able to handle it so smoothly... judging on Laz's and Tsu's 'foul' relationship.
Rubbing his eyes, Kyou got up and decided to go refill his coffee pot. He opened the door to his lab and saw the new Raevan floating innocently in the middle of the lab, head turning around when he heard the doors opened.
Lazarus was nowhere to be seen, at least for now anyway.
Tsu had been taking some time off from seeing Raevans for a little bit after his last run in with Lazzie. Something about running a check up on Kyou's charge just ended up making Tsu tired and irritable beyond belief. Not to mention since he recently had stopped using the labs as a sleeping quarter as well as the office for check ups, Tsu still had a mountain of boxes to unpack and places to hide his dirty collections from curious eyes.
In fact he had been unloading another box into a back room he was currently reserving for storage when he received a page. It can't be another check up on anyone, I just cleared my schedule! Tsu moaned inwardly. He deserved some free time away from the lab and chasing bikini clad girls, right? Looking at the number, Tsu knew he couldn't ignore the call though. Direct from Kyou... something must be up for him to be contacting all of a sudden.
Picking up a light jacket, despite the warmth of the sun, Tsu decided he better run over anyway. Heading out the door, it was a quick 5 minute jog to the workplace.
Stepping inside, Tsu decided the first place to look for Kyou was the lab space for Lab 305... his brother would either be there and passed out somewhere - no doubt from not taking proper care of his body. Perhaps one day he should invite his brother to move in with him. If only for the sake of having piece of mind that Kyou was not completely destroying his health and body in one way or another.
Sliding the keycard in, Tsu entered the lab areas, and was very confused to find Kyou wasn't there. Well... maybe Kyou just stepped out...? Tsu pondered as he took a seat to wait for the other.
Somehow Tsu's Raevan followed Kyou into the storage/supposingly-kitchen-area. Maybe he was just curious? Or was it boring in the lab? When they passed the living area just now Kyou caught sight of Lazarus looking out the window, frowning. Seems to be deep in thought. That's weird, in Kyou's impression Laz doesn't seemed to be the type that thinks a lot. Maybe he had reached that stage? Kyou wasn't very sure himself.
Now Laz 'stood' in the doorway, looking instead at the blue Raevan. But he remained silent.
When Kyou re-entered the labs with a full pot of warm coffee, with Tsu's raevan trailing closely behind him, and Laz a little further away, he felt his legs gave way a little. But he was able to support himself with his arm on a table nearby. This is when he noticed someone in the labs. His eyesight were blurry at first, probably due to lack of sleep. But he squinted to refocus his eyes and recognised the familiar face. "Tsu!!"
If the pot banging against the table hadn't caught Tsu's attention, Kyou's voice shouting his name certainly did. "There you are!" Tsu called rushing over to where his brother was still partially propping himself on the table. From the look of the bags under his eyes, the slightly unkepmt hair and the fact he almost fell face first onto the ground, Tsu surmised the diagnosis long before anything else was said by Kyou.
"I take it you've been at it again. How many times do I have to tell you to get the proper amount of sleep and not take these work binges, anyway?" Tsu chided a little worriedly, helping Kyou to a chair. "I came as soon as I got your page. What seems to be the emergency? Lazarus isn't sick is he?" Looking now over at the floating raevan, Tsu seemed to do a double take. "Erm... wait when did Lazarus start wearing blue...?"
No one ever said that Kyou was the only scattered brained one around here after all.
"I don't." Laz proclaimed a little irritably as he too emerged into the lab areas. "That's your Raevan." Laz spoke as he pointed a finger at the blue one that was a little obsessively following Kyou.
"Yeah, actually I paged you because of him." Kyou nodded at the un-named Raevan as he sat down. "You placed the bottle and vial into one of my empty machines a while ago remember?" He was thankful that Tsu cares so much for him, but his bad habits would take a century to change. And he wasn't ready to move out of the labs for now anyway.
"Oh." Tsu started with a hazy look in his eyes, "ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!! You mean Zavier's ready?!?" After first making sure Kyou was stable where he sat, Tsu wandered over to the blue raevan and circled him, looking at him closely up and down a little in awe. Reaching out a hand gingerly, Tsu touched Zave's hand feeling the smooth skin and looking at his Raevan in the face for the first time... smiling that he really had him finally.
"Nice to meet you Zavier," Tsu started, "I'm Tsu. You'll be living with me."
Obviously Zavier was getting used to his surroundings still and felt a little odd about this new man named Tsu moving in so close to him at first. Even though he was only gently touching the hand and looking at the raevan... there was something about this newcomer that he didn't trust.
"Zav... ier..." The raevan said, sounding out his name for the first time. Trying to get used to it. Then moving onto the other two names he knew since he first opened his eyes. "Kyou... Lazrus..." looking at the man sitting down first and then at the floating raevan. Finally he looked at the stranger and repeated, "Tsu." He had already seemed to get used to his voice and was taking less pauses in between sounding words.
Although in the end, something about the one named Lazarus seemed more appealing. Something that looked similar... but at the same time a little different. Thus Zave slowly floated over to where the other was sort of 'standing' and stopped a few inches away. Personal space had not been quite understood yet.
"It's Laz-a-rus, you missed an 'A' in there." Lazarus frowned and said in an irritable tone. But somehow he don't really felt too annoyed with the newborn raevan, there's something about him that reminded him of himself. Lazarus couldn't make out why either. When Zave inched closer though Lazarus backed away a little, he isn't too used or comfortable to being in such close contact with other people/Raevans other than Kyou and Sevilin.
"Your Raevan seems to be an interesting one..." Kyou said as he observed Zavier. "Lazarus doesn't seem to hate him as much as he hate or dislike the other Raevans, I can see that pretty clearly." maybe Laz and Zavier could be friends. Although Kyou might seem to be a bad parent at times, but he had been worried about Lazarus for a while now. Laz seems to be rather unfriendly to the other Raevans, except for Sevvie that is. A Raevan friend would do good for Lazarus. He's finally growing up! Kyou thought as he held back a tear that's forming at the corner of his eyes.
"Lazarus." Zavier repeated softly outloud once... and mentally a couple more times. Lazarus, Lazarus, Lazarus Unused to people pulling away from him, Zave hesitated to get close again. He wanted to know more about this other raevan... but if it meant the other kept backing away, then it was best not to get too close, he decided. Floating there he cocked his head to the side, "Why do you move away?"
Tsu marvelled at how fast Zavier was picking up on things. He was rather curious... and his questions seemed to come to a point when they were finally asked. "Yeah... it's a good thing they are at least willing to sit in same room without something going wrong. After all, it would be hard if I couldn't work in same labs as you if our raevans didn't like each other...." Tsu recalled the incident that happened with Rivener. He had only heard the crashing noises and smelled the smoke. Thus guessed what happened. "Hopefully Lazarus will be willing to play with Zavier once he gets more used to the other Raevan."
"Err.. because I want to?" Lazarus said bluntly. "I don't feel too comfortable with you being so close, when people talk, they keep a distance." Lazarus pointed a finger at Zavier's chest and motions it towards his, to and fro a few times. "This is called distance." One thing Laz is grateful about this new Raevan, is that he's not as aggresive as Rivener, and certainly seems to be smarter.
"True..." Kyou's voice trailed off a little as he felt a headache emerging. The steady throb at the sides of his head makes him feel a little nauseous. He leaned on the table beside the chair and rubbed his hand to the throbbing area.
"Kyou!" Tsu called out alarmed all of a sudden as his brother once again looked like he crumpled up a bit from exertion or something. "Are you okay? Can I get something for you? Why don't we help you go lie down..." The worry creeped into his voice again as he leaned over and touched Kyou's back gently to try and illicit a response out of his brother. Little did he know that Zave had turned and watched the little scene with mild interest.
Turning back to Lazarus, Zave responded, "I think... I understand this distance thing. When Tsu came close to me at first... I didn't know what to do. It felt... odd... like I wasn't comfortable... or being looked at oddly. Is that what you mean about needing distance when talking? But... why do Kyou and Tsu go with no distance? Are they... not same?"
"Whoa!" Lazarus gasped, impressed. "That was the first time I heard a newborn Raevan spoken so much! And something more intelligent nonetheless!!" Laz is starting to like Zavier already, he's surely smarter than the other Raevans he know, or at least got to talk to. Looking over to both the humans, he frowned. I knew Kyou is going to collapse if he keeps up this kind of lifestyle. Laz thought.
"Kyou and Tsu are brothers, they are related. They care for each other, so they can be closer." Laz explained briefly, trying to keep his words simple for the new Raevan. He's starting to feel like an older brother himself, or a teacher of some sort, teaching Zavier new things.
"I... I think I'll be fine, I just needed some water and maybe pop some pills." Kyou said as he shut his eyes tight, trying to shoo the headache away with his failing willpower. Which of course doesn't work. "...I still have a book I need to read..." he tried to stand up as he spoke, only to fall back down again due to wobbly knees.
"The words are hard to form though." Zave admitted sheepishly. "but... I guess I know the feeling more. That's why I can say these things at all." Zave looked at Tsu and Kyou. So those two are brothers. Somehow they didn't look identical. Just like Lazarus and himself. They hold some of the same... but some of the not same. I have so much more to learn... Zave thought, wondering slightly if Lazarus and him would become brothers.
"Brothers. I see. I wonder what it is like to have a brother. Maybe I will find out some day." Zavier pondered aloud, despite wanting to.
"You're in no shape to finish that book right now Kyou. It's time to get you into a place and you need to lie down. Lazarus? Zavier? Can I get some help here please?" Tsu's concern took over and he was not about to let Kyou go on any further with forcing himself. Even if he had to ask Lazarus to stand guard and knock Kyou out each time he tried to move away. "Maybe it'll be better if we let Kyou get some rest on the couch, Zavier. Once he's on the couch, we should head home as well. Please bring that book over there that he seems to want, Zave. After that thank Lazarus and say goodbye to him for today."
After Kyou was put in place on a couch with a blanket over him, and the research book by his side. Tsu patted his brother's head and told him to get some rest after he finished reading a bit more.
Zave turned and faced Laz one last time for the day. "Thank you for talking to me... and telling me about all these new things. I must go home with Tsu, I guess. Goodbye." and with a small wave, Zave floated back over to Tsu and the two left the labs together, taking in the late afternoon air - they made their way back to the apartment.
Kyou laid there staring at the book. Maybe he's right, it's probably about time Kyou rested. His eyes were drooping close when he heard a little voice calling to him. "Read me, the answer you seek is within me... you know you want to read me..." With a fling of his arm, Kyou knocked the book off onto the floor with the back of his hand. Curling up and pulling the blanket a little higher, he closed his eyes and went to dreamland.
While Lazarus snuck into the storage to read some indecent magazines.

continued from pick up RPAs soon as Kai heard the tumbler of the lock turn and the door swing open, he knew that Tsu was home from whatever emergency had called him away from putting more of the strange boxes away. In fact Tsu had been very particular about not letting Kai see the contents either. It looked like there was going to be an adventure at some point... but not any time soon sadly. Not like he could just walk over there himself after all. Instead he sat there absorbed in the pretty colors swirling around on Tsu's laptop while listening to some weird jokes by a man Tsu said was "Eddie Is Herd". He was pretty funny... but Kai had no idea what he was talking about.
"Kai... are you still in the same room as before?" Tsu called out, realising how stupid he sounded. Of course his other kid would be in the same room. After all, it's not like he's been successful in breaking the kid out of his prison of a bottle, and besides... Star had told him not to bother trying. "I want you to meet someone... I'll be right there!" Tsu called helping Zavier to navigate along the hallway that used to be completely crowded from adjusting to the move. All the way into the room Tsu claimed to be his "study" - really just a place to have his laptop set up with enough room to watch movies comfortably with Kai and now Zavier.
"Who is it?" Kai turned in his bottle to try and get a better view of the door. His kid brother was supposed to be coming at some point and Kai was getting more and more excited at the prospect of being a big brother to someone. Sure the move had been exciting, as Kai no longer had to suffer the smell of antibacterial cleaners all the time and feel like he was in a hospital. Still... now HE would be able to talk to someone and show how smart he is. "Is it my little brother?"
"...well yes... in a way." Tsu admitted, entering the door, shortly followed by a floating entity that had a swirl of cloth where his lower torso and legs should be, and had a set of wings folded cautiously to avoid bumping doors and other objects. "Meet Zavier, he's your new... erm... younger brother." Can't really say little after all. That was hardly the case. Turning to Zavier he motioned towards the bottle with a kid inside, "...and this is your older brother, Kai."
Kai just stared wide eyed at Zavier - while Zavier stared back a little. Granted Zavier was looking because he was curious as to what the little boy in the bottle was... but Kai was just... too shocked to really utter anything. "... Z... Zay... veer" Kai struggled to manage uttering something first. It didn't sound right to him somehow. "... Zay... Zave." He managed to nod a little at the shorter name. Everyone on an equal ground this way. Tsu, Kai, Zave. Sure monosyllabic names seemed to be childish... but everyone can remember that way.
Zavier floated there mulling over everything being told to him. He was excited to have an older brother... but for some reason he expected someone... well... bigger. "Kai..." the raevan repeated outloud. At least the name didn't sound that harsh on his ears, and well... maybe he could still learn more from his new brother.
"...Zay... Zave." Once again Zavier didn't mind the name. In fact he took to the shorter version a bit more. Smiling he responded, "Yes... I'm Zave. Nice to meet you Kai."
He was still a little overwhelmed though. Tsu had just shown him a few of the rooms, there was the kitchen, study, bedrooms for Kai, Tsu, and himself - each facing the beach. There were still many other rooms not taken up. Tsu had even shown a little space where he could go out and get fresh air if he wanted. There was one condition though. "Don't go out alone for the time being. I don't have a key for you yet, and I don't want you getting lost."
"I promise... but please take me to see that sandy area sometime. I like the wind." Tsu could hold up this bargain. He had been meaning to take Kai out more often as well after all.
========== ==========
"Well... now that everyone has been introduced, I've got to set up some rules for this house."
Both Zave and Kai looked at each other a little puzzled. Kai never remembered having rules before in the household and now Tsu was adding new thing after new thing. "Like... the rule about not asking questions that might get you in trouble? Kai recalled the problems he ran into when asking Star about explosions and mentioning the pretty naked women in Tsu's office.
"Somewhat like that." Tsu replied. That was the first rule... because it was made out of fear of losing his first... erm... little brother. There was no use trying to get accustomed to being called a parent after all.
"What sort of rules?" Zave asked, he had been unsure about Tsu, and well... still had a little bit of worry. Things in this house seemed interesting at least. "Will I be stuck in here most of the day? he made a face as he wanted to explore... not be cooped in a house all day.
"Could you just let me go over the rules? Ask questions after I finish."
"Sorry" Kai replied eyes downcast.
"Sorry" Zave repeated, mimicking in mannerisms and tone.
"It's fine." Tsu lifted both of their chins so they could look in the face. "No reason to have your face downcast.
"First... the rule that Kai mentioned is important. Rather than just saying don't ask questions that could get you or myself in trouble... please don't talk to strangers. You never know if the person is good or bad. People you have met before with me are fine to talk to.
Second... no fighting. Zave, you may be bigger than Kai... but don't pick on him. Kai... I know you're older. Please don't boss him around though. The two of you are important to me. No one is loved more or less.
Third... let me know where you go. It is fine if you'd like to come to work with me. I do work with other Raevans, so Zave... you can meet others that are similar to you. Kai, it might be boring... but at least you'll get to be out of the house. Until you get a key though... please stay with me.
Fourth... the toilet is off limits. Seeing as neither of you have a reason to use it... this should go without saying. When the time comes, you'll learn how to use it and everything.
Fifth... one creature/person to the bathroom at a time. This is to wash your hands only. There shouldn't be more in than one person in there anyway. It's a little disturbing. Only exception is if you need help washing your wings, Zave."
"In any case, I'll leave you two to mingle if you want, or continue watching things on the laptop. Even explore the house a little more. I need to start dinner too and finish unpacking some extra boxes..." And Tsu was gone.
Zave had so many questions he wanted to ask, he didn't know where to start. So for the time being he floated around looking at things, before he too wanted to start asking Tsu some questions. "I'm going to find Tsu, I have some more to ask him. Do you want to come along?" Zave thought to ask his new brother before just leaving.
"Sure!" Kai was excited that he was offered to be escorted by the floating creature. "It'll be like an adventure!" Kai already had more plans for adventures for later. Such as discovering the contents of those mysterious boxes Tsu was moving around in the back. Sort of like a treasure hunt.
Carefully picking up the bottle his brother - who looked nothing like him or Tsu - was in, Zave floated out the door to search for the last member of this new "family". Very softly, Zave tried out some words that had popped into his head. "I'm home."

"Happy birthday Zave!" Tsu cheered on his raevan as he brought out a cupcake he picked up from Cafe Jubilee with a candle stuck into it.
"-py burpday!" Kai echoed a little after Tsu. Obviously proud that he had made a play on words from birthday. Teenage rebellion with the mind of a small child still. Oh joy.
"Thanks guys. It's hard to believe it's been one year already.... but Tsu... you know I can't eat normal food like that. Unless you want to clean up everything?" Zave looked somewhat coolly at his guardian. Still he leaned over and blew out the candle. Then sneaking some frosting off the top of the cupcake to try it for himself. Not bad.
"Well shoot... I completely spaced on that." Tsu said aloud. "I guess these other cupcakes will go to waste too...." He let out a drawl and watched his kids reaction.
Kai was howling "Noooooooooo!!!!! I'll eat the sugar!!!!! Give it to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee...." and Zave couldn't help but recall Golem from The Lord of the Rings watching his brother trying to guard a cupcake from Tsu. There was an odd sort of smile on his face as he watched his 'family' pull a plate with the other cupcakes Tsu bought back and forth.
"I guess it doesn't hurt to break the rules once in a while...." Zave finally shrugged and sat down to eat the cupcake. Truth be told... he had liked it from when he had sneaked a taste of it. If there was hell to pay later, then so be it.
"Well then that settles it." Tsu said with a grin. He didn't want to let on that he hadn't planned on throwing the cupcakes out in any case. Zave probably knew anyway... but it was still fun to string Kai along from time to time.
"Yayyyy!!!!" Kai said stuffing his mouth with bits of cupcake. How he was able to digest things was still beyond Tsu... and he wasn't about to ask the other owners. Mostly because he probably wasn't supposed to feed the other either.... but this is a birthday! Who cares?!
"Actually... there's one more thing." Tsu said producing a haphazardly wrapped item. The invisible tape seemed to be more frequent than the actual wrapping paper in places.
"What is this?" Zavier asked giving the contents a cautious shake. He handled it as if it were about to explode at any second.
"It's your present." Tsu said with his stupid smile.
"Well... I KNOW that. What's inside?" Zave asked, looking a little put off.
"OPEN IT AND FIND OUT!" Kai hollered, the sugar starting to course through his body.
Zave gingerly started opening the package
....
"OH, JUST RIP 'ER OPEN!"
....
"...Shhh... Let him do it the way he wants to."
....
"But Tsuuuu... he's doing it all..."
....
"Mouth goes closed now Kai."
....
.....
.......
Finally giving up on the neat and clean method, Zave tore into the package to uncover a leather bound book.
"It's a book..." Zave said... unsure if he should be excited or not. Judging from the puzzled look by Kai and the smile from Tsu, Zave just became more and more confused. Opening the book he said once more "It's a blank book..."
"Zave, Kai got something to go along with it.... Kai give him your present." Tsu nudged the other brother.
"Here." Kai said looking oddly at Tsu.
Zave opened the next package. Inside was... ... a ...... fire truck?!? "Ummm... I guess... I don't get the connection?" Zave smiled weakly. Completely perplexed at the two items.
"I told you to get him a pen!" Tsu turned to the other kid.
"That seemed so boring! I thought a fire truck would be cooler."
"Fire trucks have nothing to do with journals!"
"Well... paper burns and so a fire truck could put out his burning blank book!"
"Oh... so it's a journal?" Zave looked again at the leather bound book.
"Erm... yeah. It's so you can write down your thoughts and try to organize things better. You mentioned you were confused after meeting some of the other raevans. I'll get you a pen too." Tsu mentioned sheepishly. He hoped Zave liked the gift.
"Thank you. I'll treasure both of them." Zave murmured softly, holding the book and truck close to him. He had some things he wanted to write but that would have to wait for later. He needed to go and practice his letters first.
