He followed dutifully on the tour, still content with his decision. Of course he would need to test the waters so to speak, but no red flags at this time. He mostly watched the crew, always a good way to tell based on the respect they showed for a captain.
He shrugged at her comment, not really bothered by such a thought. Some might find it unsettling, but he saw it as interesting at least.
"Oh?" He prodded casually, "Any one they favor more than another?"

She grinned. "Poker usually, five card janarim is the version of choice." And her personal favorite. "Its a good way to pass the time while on watch. We always have guards stationed and we draw lots to see who goes so its fair. However I get to assign people if they have commited errors on ship, it keeps things neat and tidy.
"Are you hungry?" She was due a spot of lunch after working hard all morning preparing for sail.

Ah so the Oban variety of games. Not surprising considering the group, but not one he was so familiar with. Seemed like that would change soon enough.
At her offer for food, he smiled warmly, "Naturally, would be good to get in some fresh meals before we hit the sea while they are still available." Plus he was curious about the cooks she was trying out, and if it was any different than the trips he was used to, "Lead on, captain."

She brought him to the galley which was cozy but effective. A matorian woman served the in port then crew members rotated the duty. She was the best of the lot but was only available in port due to her family duties. She was salty and swore alot. Kechi adored her. She filled him a plate from the stewpot and handed it to him before serving herself. “ I must thank Theriar for sending you, you happen to be the only one who showed up.

He raised a brow at her last statement, thanking her for her stew, "Well we've still got some time yet..." He replied with a shrug, hopeful as well that he migth be able to thank Theriar for the recommendation. If anything, this change of pace would be an exciting one, and he migth just find his calling with the sea. Digging into the food, he let out a pleased moan at the food, and nodded toward the woman in thanks. Good omens indeed.
