America stepped back, as if the accusation had been a physical blow. "I'M SORRY," she cried out, tears now streaming down her face. "I-I'M JUST SO SCARED AND I CAN'T DO ANYTHING! I KEEP TRYING AND I THOUGHT THAT THIS TIME...IT FELT RIGHT!"

Her crying made him squirm a bit, but only because he was unsure as to how to comfort her. She certainly deserved to cry, having been stuck in this place for however long. He would have been.

Her expression crumpled, any bit of defiance leaving her as Mr. Bitterberry flew over to peach on one thin, shaking shoulder. Silently, America nodded her head, and the last bit of furniture hit the ground with quiet thumps and clicks all over the room.

Theo sighed, hunching forward as the tension left him. He took a couple of quiet steps toward the girl, reaching out to maybe-possibly put a hand on the shoulder opposite her bird, as long as nothing else started floating.
