If we go with such a story, it might be a bit difficult to choose a rebel or government pilot. Probably rebel, always liked melee combat-focused mechs.

I tend to find a dice/RNG system used for combat would increase the level of system management characters have to manage, which while it would be cool for an agreeing group, random people may be turned away and there has to be quite a bit of fine tuning to each available weapon and machine.

Phoenix347 When I think dice systems, I think classic DnD gameplay. Same here. I know that there are a ton of other kinds, and some of them even sound really reasonable (e.g.: FATE), but yeah, I always think of D&D first.
