Raspberry Kolache
Asheryn smiled at the response from the first egg. He already sounded like quite a fun little dragon, and she was eager to meet him even if he wasn't hers. And then he imparted a secret before going quiet again. Yours is not far. Her eyes widened, and her heart jumped into her throat. Not far...did that mean not physically far? Was her dream, her dragon, mere feet away from her right now? She cast glances around her at the other eggs, wondering which one could be hers.
Careful not to move too quickly, she stood and walked to another egg. This one was wedged between several of its siblings almost as if it were hiding. She reached over an egg with a yellow splotch and ran her hand down the side of the swirled egg behind it. "Hello, little one...Are you as excited as we are?" she asked with a smile.

Nanaimo Bar
The feeling of contentment and happiness from the egg under his hand was calming for Jarah. "You'll be a little ray of sunshine, won't you?" he laughed and gave it one more stroke before shifting slightly to the egg beside it. This one was about the same size, but in shades of brown. Not as colorful as its sibling, but that didn't mean a thing about the dragonet inside. "What about you, cutie? What secrets does your shell hold?" he murmured to it.

The egg would have answered, but it didn't. Instead, all Devlin was greeted with was absolute silence. So much for a good afternoon. If Kaleir was hoping for a good reaction from an egg, she would get it from Creme Brulee. Upon the compliment of its shell, a wave of warmness and the sensation of a hug rushed over the candidate as if to say "thank you." Another sensation of bouncing up and down happily followed this before the hatchling inside faded back into silence. It seemed pleased with the kind words.Yes, of course, it rocked itself on its side. Not everyone could stand up straight, and besides -- what if this was a better way of looking at things? The hatchling inside the egg prodded Jovakor with its mind, but then tutted some. Hmm. They should continue on with going over the other eggs. There was a better fit for the lad among them all.You could say that again! Oh -- the hatchling was more than excited; it was a bit impatient, too. When could it get out? This egg was cramped. It wants to see everything, and Asheryn could feel that by the clawing sound that rang through Asheryn's mind. Secrets?
Nanaimo holds lots of secrets! It would tell you, but then it probably would have to kill you. Best to keep them to itself, for now. Jarah would see what was beneath the shell in time; he'd just have to be patient!

Chocolate Fudge
The lack of any sort fo response at all was somewhat unsettling...perhaps the hatchling inside was just sleeping? Devlin hoped so, in any case there wasn't much he could do about it and so pulling his hand away he wandered over to another egg, skirting around other candidates to the first available one. It was a tri-colored egg and Devlin rather admired the organized way it went from dark to light.
Curiously he put his hand out and laid it on the warm shell which was slightly tilted to one side. "You've got yourself a nice little spot here now haven't you." He remarked to the egg.

Jello Egg
Oh my! That was an excitable little dragon now wasn't it, Kaleir thought to herself at the exuberant response. It seemed kind hearted though and surely whomever it impressed would be more then lucky..if maybe a bit run ragged by what seemed like lots of energy. Patting the egg one last time in farewell Kaleir made her way towards a brightly colored egg that had caught her attention.
It was the only egg on the sands with a blue tone and it was a bright one. Laying her hand on the shell Kaleir admired the bright and dark shades of the dragons shell. "Afternoon little dragon." She said, imparting a cheerful greeting to the hatchling inside.

Devlin just wasn't having much luck, it seemed, in terms of talkative eggs.
This one was just as quiet as the one before; perhaps it was shy? Or maybe it just wanted to give Devlin a hard time.
No one can really tell with these things. An image popped into Kaleir's mind: one of a hatchling slowly lifting up its head and opening an eye lazily at her.
It would be a good afternoon, yes -- but it was resting. If people were going to touch its shell, then it wouldn't be much good after that. Interruptions were never fun, especially when napping.
Besides -- Kaleir should go back. You have to go back to go forward.

Chocolate Soufflee
Jovakor had to smile at the personality this egg seemed to have. Not for him, it would seem, but quite entertaining all the same. He gave the egg a little pat before moving on. He glanced around at the others moving among the eggs and decided to go as far from the two he had been touching as possible to see what was on the other side. It brought him back to the first egg he had touched, so he bent down and pressed his hands against the tinier egg that sat before it.
"Hello," he said, deciding not to say 'little one' in case the dragon didn't think itself to be little. Sometimes giving a more detailed greeting was met with a worse response.

Mooncake Egg
Devlin sighed a little bit as this egg also remained silent, after the response from the first egg he'd touched he'd sort of expected more along the same lines - ah well..there was still plenty of eggs left right? Still a hint of doubt was begining to creep into the youths mind and pulling his hand away he did his best to shrug the nagging feeling away and think positive thoughts. Lots of eggs left, he reminded himself and since he seemed to be having bad luck with this side of the clutch he trudged over to the other side.
Almost right away the tipped over egg caught his attention - it was different thanks to its position in the sand and maybe different was just what he needed. Reaching out he put his hand on the eggs shell. "Hello" He greet the egg warmly.

Baklava Egg
Kaleir tipped her head slightly at the eggs response. Pulling her hand away with a murmured apology for disturbing the little dragons nap, young ones required sleep to grow and surely hatchlings in eggs required sleep as well. Still the rest of the eggs message was intriguing and she glanced back over her shoulder at the eggs behind her..go back? Well there was one egg in the first group she had missed, a pretty pale striped one...might as well go and give it a try right?
Turning about she made her way over to the striped egg, laying her hand on the shell with a cheerful greeting. "Afternoon, you have such pretty stripes on your shell." She complimented.

It's probably best that Jovakor didn't add the 'little one' comment.
It probably wouldn't have liked it.
Then again, he really wouldn't have been able to tell, for there was no response from the egg.
Really -- all this silence is getting a bit ridiculous.Hello, indeed.
The hatchling inside Mooncake poked around Devlin's thoughts. The sensation of a person reclining backward, lost in thought, then entered his mind. Hmmm. Clearly Mooncake was thinking. After a few moments of silence, there was the feeling of a slight head bob before another sensation of moving the lad along.
Carry on, lad. Carry on.Baklava was quite fond of its stripes, too. Kaleir had a decent eye, but it was not good enough, it seemed. It was good that she listened to to its sibling, but the candidate clearly didn't pay good enough attention. She went too far back.
Oh, well -- no worries. She'd figure it out eventually.

Banana Split
Asheryn giggled at the egg's excitement. "Patience, little one, you'll hatch soon enough." She grinned and shifted on the sands and lay her hands on the splotched egg she had just reached over. "Are you as excited as your sibling?" she wondered softly. She felt a little less shaky from her own excitement, but she was so curious about which one could be hers. They all seemed like so much fun!

Birthday Cake
Jarah chuckled softly. "We wouldn't want that, would we?" he grinned and, staying in the same area, reached over to run his fingertips over a brown and white egg with red stripes. "You're colorful, aren't you?" He traced one of the red stripes, thinking that all of the eggs he'd touched so far would turn out to be wonderful dragons.

Unlike the others, Banana Split was a bit shy. It didn't talk at first, but eventually gave Asheryn the image of an animal peeking its head out from behind the bushes. Hmmm? No -- not really. It wasn't excited. If anything, it shrinked backward. There were too many people. Too many hands. Perhaps Mooncake could provide more stimulating conversation.Yes!
Birthday Cake was full of colors!
If the hatchling were out of its egg, it probably would have pounced on Jarah. Yet, he would have to settle for a mental glomp in the back of his mind, instead. Birthday Cake loves colors, and it loves to play. Would you play with Birthday Cake?

Banana Split
Well now Kaleir was just confused and by the looks on some of the other candidates faces she probably wasn't the only one feeling that way. Catching the eye of a male beside the tipped over egg she shrugged and offered him a smile as she pulled her hand back before turning her thoughts back to what the previous hatchling had said..go back to go forward..what did it mean?
Well..maybe she should visit some of the eggs near the blue one, maybe going back just meant visiting the ones she's skipped beside it? Her eyes landed on the colorful Banana Split egg and she made her way towards it, laying her hands on its bright and sunny looking shell.
"I think your siblings are having some fun with me." She told the egg softly.

Turkish Delight
Well..it was a response! And not even a bad one at that, certainly better then some of the other responses he'd gotten. "Your going to be a good steady dragon" He told the egg, giving it a brief farewell pat before moving on. The brightly colored red hued egg right beside the one she was standing beside seemed like a good candidate for his next attempt and he reached out to place his hand on the shell, catching the smile from the girl across the sands he offered her one of encouragement before turning his attention to the egg before him.
"Good afternoon" He greet the egg warmly.
