He couldn't really hear what was being said as the voices got distorted from him being in the waters. But he could see that one was not moving from his spot and the other was madly digging into the sand.
His attention shifted to Holly as she stared at him with a shocked facial expression. "What did he say? Did you hear? I couldn't make out the words."

"The earth phony said 'If you don' get outta here, I'm gonna bury you alive!' and the one with wings said 'You won't and I'm not moving,'" Holly explained to Wave Watcher ", What should we do? I want to help both of them. That earth phony is not being nice at all though! I want to be rude back but that wouldn't be a good thing."

Wave nodded at her response. "That is quite a dilemma ain't it?" Again he surfaced above waters and submerged back down as quick as a dolphin. "Say...how about...we show ourselves to them together at the same time? You can hide behind me if it gets too much for you to handle." He gave the green merphony a super bright smile. "I'll protect you with my life."

"With your life? Wow, you sound brave," she smiled and gave him a nod ", Okay, we'll show ourselves to them, but what will happen if the earth phony is rude to use? Should we be rude back or try to be as nice as we can?"

He nodded again. "With my life. Nothing will scare me away. Not even a mean little colt." Wave lifted his front leg and flexed his muscle. Although there was barely anything to show off. "If he's rude to us, merphonies, we can simply drag him down into the waters with us," he told her with a wink. "That should show teach him. But if he can't swim, we'd totally save him in the end. The last thing I want to see is a dead body." He frowned at the thought of seeing anyphony drown in water. If that happens, he'll have nightmares for life.

Holly shook her head no when Wave mentioned bringing him in by force ", That is just mean. I don't think we will get anywhere from being mean back. Maybe... we could use that pride of his against himself? I'm sure we could think of something. Maybe a race with one of us and him? I volunteer."

Being just a little colt himself, he made a little D'OH face, as he agreed with what Holly just said. "You're right. Being mean back doesn't solve anything. Sorry I wasn't thinking clearly."
He scratched his head and groomed his hair as he thought about Holly's method. "You know. Challenging him to a swimming match might do just fine. Imagine the look on his face losing to a girl !" Wave snickered out loud. Boys will always be boys. They can't help think they're better than girls at sports.

"Hahaha, maaayyyybe," he replied all teasingly towards her. "We definitely need our own race some other day. I am rather curious myself."
He peeked his head out of the waters again to see if the little colts on land are still there. After spotting the dark remaining close to the shore, he lowered himself back down into the water. "Yes you can race against him."
Wave Watcher noticed that the other one hasn't moved much at all. Is he really just going to sleep the day away? He turned to face Holly again. "I might try to get the other one's attention while you two battle it out in a swimming match."

Oblivious to the pair of merfoals in the water, Boss was blinded by rage at the one foal on land who defied him. Dude's steadfast attitude and stubborn look caused him to balk at first, but then he reminded himself who he was.
"You can' talk to me like that! Who do you think you are, anyway?" the Earth phony colt shot back. "You doubtin' me? I'll show you! Just watch me!"
He turned around to kick sand at the pegasus, not seeming to bother considering if he got some in the other colt's eyes. He had given him fair warning, after all.

"Yes! Ready as ready can be!" he replied all pumped up and excited to meet land phonies for the first time. Just for a little while, he surfaced above waters again, and managed to witness the black colt kick sand at the chubby one.

Dude Food was not expecting the other foal to kick sand in his eyes. Sure, the Earth phony had so far shown himself to be belligerent and rude but this was a step beyond what Dude had thought him capable of, probably because he couldn't imagine ever doing it himself. He quickly shut the one eye that was open and turned his head but it didn't stop a few grains getting in. His nostrils flared but he still wouldn't budge and he said nothing. Kitomyx Now he's getting a little mad. 8P

FrostyPeaches Now that she has become suddenly bold, watch her get nervous for a bit before finally challenging him.
"We're going up," Holly Mistletide told Wave Watcher, swimming up to the surface and splashing water onto the beach (But not at them) to get the earth phony's attention ", That was not nice what you did to that pegasus! Very very mean!"

Wave Watcher nodded and surfaced above waters again after Holly. He blew bubbles as he watched the mergirl lost her cool, and ended up yelling at the dark earth phony. "No phony likes sand in their eyes."
and this merphony is just going to float about in the waters for a while as if watching live TV lol
