Hand to hand? "And how!" Delight was in Camille's voice as she held her bow up at an angle so that it returned to the totem arrow around her neck. She was sick of having to run around trying to shoot her bow when she barely knew how to throw a punch. Didn't know how to avoid one. Ever was likely going to stomp her into the ground with his boots but she'd survive. Ki would still help direct her, keep her safe from harm. Biting her lip Cami tried to take the only stance she knew how, one she'd seen in a boxing ring, and tried to strike out with a punch. Apparently catching Ever by surprise was the way to go, or maybe he was just letting her get in a pity strike, because she clocked him in the stomach rather solidly. For all his apparently readiness, for his argument that he'd been in fights before, he seemed to shut down when Cami started swinging -- unprepared for that first attack, and left a bit stunned by just how hard she'd hit. Maybe he'd been expecting her to waffle out, or be a bit less enthusiastic. Maybe he was just tired. Either way, he fumbled to catch her before she pulled away, arms stretched out, and completely and utterly missed. He looked wary now, at least, blinking at her uncertainly. That hadn't gone at all how he'd expected, nor hoped. HP: 35/40 DMG: 0

Cami had not expected to land the hit but even as she did, her scampering habits came in handy as the sleep-roughened Lifer reached out to perhaps stop her. Pull her to the ground. Rear naked choke hold. MMA? WWE? Something like that. Suplex! Coffee was streaming through her system as fuel which kept her going, had her lashing in with a kick to his lower legs to perhaps sweep him down onto the ground. Success was intoxicating. Ever was tall, which only meant that when he went down, he went down hard -- with an oof and a crunch that he hoped would heal before it hurt. At least it didn't leave him dazed, didn't hold him up for long. This time, when he reached out, he caught at her ankle, working to pull her down as well. Most real world hand-to-hand fights resulted in a scramble in the dirt anyway. HP: 30/40 DMG: 3

Cami had been so preoccupied with getting away to reassess what she was doing, decide whether or not she wanted to actually try to let Ever get back to his feet or perhaps go in to pin him, that she didn't pay attention to the now. Now was that his hand was around her ankle, scrabbling to pull her down, succeeding in sending her hard down onto her stomach so that wind got knocked out of her. Gasping hard for breath she kicked hard at not the hand that was holding her wrist, but the inside of his elbow. Getting his hand off wouldn't matter worth a damn if he simply grabbed her again. Instead of slamming into his elbow, her blow was glancing, sliding up his arm, scraping an angry red streak into the crook of his elbow. In the back of his mind, Amory made a sound like a hungry wildcat, a low purr of pleasure: a vampire responding to the sight of first blood, and it kindled Ever's spirit some. This time he managed to get his feet under him and he swung at her. It was all gusto, no finesse, but that didn't mean it wouldn't hurt like hell when it landed. HP: 27/40 DMG: 5

Cami felt her ribs protest beneath the fist that shoved down hard into her ribs, pushing air right back out. It was impossible to stifle the sound of pain that came with it but, thankfully, it'd be nothing more than an ugly bruise for a day or two before it was gone completely. She'd regenerated (because there was literally no better word for it in her lexicon) ninety percent of the skin on her body in a week. What were bruises? Unfortunately it also hit her in such a way that, momentarily, she couldn't do anything but wheeze for breath. Did flailing count as attacking him? She doubted it. HP: 32/40 DMG: 0

It was easier to get behind trying to beat the s**t out of someone when you actually had a problem with them -- when they'd been hunting for trouble on the dance floor, when they were sloppy drunk and spouting hate speech, or when they were actively trying to smash his face in. With Cami on the floor, fumbling, breathless, it was harder for Ever to really get behind hitting her. Plus, she was a girl. Sometimes, the things your parents taught you stuck around much longer than they should have. So instead of swinging again he hesitated, blinking down at her. No heart of a killer here. Getting her breath back hadn't been an easy feat and perhaps it had to do with the fact she hadn't bothered to rest even a little bit between her jog and now. Even as Ever stood back (and she appreciated it quite a lot) Cami staggered to her feet and stretched a little to ease the ache in her chest. "Ten more seconds and we're back, promise." "...better?" The question came slowly, Ever's hand smoothing over his own stomach, honestly expecting it to hurt more than it actually had. Experience spoke of something different: this, too, would take some getting used to. He watched her, warily, eyebrows knitted. "Are we good to go?" HP: 27/40 DMG: 0

Shaking her arms for a minute she took a deep breath and nodded. "Yeah, lets go." She bounced for a bit and eyed Ever before she tried to lash in again with a kick towards his ribs. She felt it connect but it wasn't hard. She didn't want to start encouraging heavy kicks because, well, he was wearing steel-toed boots. HP: 32/40 DMG: 3

Kicking was all about finesse -- which wasn't at all Ever's style. Even once he knew what he was doing, it likely wouldn't be. No. Instead, he was about force, about being all too willing to throw himself into blows to get close enough to throw blows of his own. So he didn't kick back: instead he grabbed at her leg as it connected, trying to pull her off-balance again. HP: 24/40 DMG: 3

It worked, of course, because Cami was stronger with her legs than her arms and she knew it. Hell, her thighs were about as thick as they came on the island by nature of her heritage and a fondness for roller skating. She wasn't yanked fully off-balance but she was pulled in enough for Ever to strike. It made her wish she could perform one of those amazing moves she saw on tv, clamping her thighs around Ever and yanking him to the ground. Instead she just punched at his shoulder so he'd drop her leg. HP: 32/40 DMG: 3

The punch collided, he dropped her leg, and stumbled back a step: drawing in a deep breath as he blinked across at her. This wasn't going terribly well, getting his a** kicked by a bright-eyed girl, so he tried to focus, eyebrows pulling down as Ever stepped in to swing at her -- Too hard. He missed. HP: 21/40 DMG: 0

Ever thankfully missed but between regaining control of her leg and dodging what she thought would have been a hit Camille didn't do much other than dive out of the way before scrambling again to her feet. Circling him again she looked for a opening to hit, eyes narrowed. "You're not bad for a newbie. Fight much before?"
