when you bring up your ring menu you have a button that says salvage and tells you how many orbs you get.

Go inside null and open your ring pouch. Now look up the middle of the screen. You will see Salvage in the middle of the column. Click on the lower CL duplicate ring, then on salvage, and the ring is converted into orbs.

You will use all 40 basic rings if you continue in the game. When you salvage duplicates, always keep the one with the highest CL.

Salvaging can only be done in null. Open your ring pouch (click on the white bag mid-panel at bottom of your zOMG screen). On the left you will see your rings. On the right side of the rings you will see a panel, and that is where you salvage rings. Basically, you get some (not all) of the orbs back from each ring you toss. Go ahead - duplicate rings are useless, and the orbs can be used to level up your other rings. Always keep your equipped rings close to each other in CL, it gives you an edge. (You lose power if more than 1.5 CL apart.) And as much as possible, level up your unequipped rings. Learn what each ring does and how to use it.
