Given that Kenley had now caught himself in a brace for impact, muscles tensed and pain receptors turned more inward, it was cutting off his perception of the outside world. Sounds that his spined ears picked up didn't register to his mind, knowing that the fall was going to be rather painful, and how tightly he grasped to Bastet's tail in the fright-induced action followed the same guidelines. He didn't even realize that his descent had been slowed with the meowth's quick actions as he just waited for the ground to rush up from under him, eyes closed tightly. Any anger he had been experiencing just seconds prior was immediately replaced with a survival-based fear response, and with that coiled fear came with it an inability to release his grip.
The ground felt a lot less flat than Kenley had been expecting, but then he didn't anticipate Lorne to try to do anything but taunt from his stead. The wurmple child didn't try to right himself in air at all, much too startled to really think about doing something like that. His grip on Bastet felt as though he had a grip on the tree branch they fell from, too, and he wanted that above him, as though grabbing ahold of it before falling too far -- much as the meowth herself had attempted to do. Regardless of the child trying to tourniquet off his senses for his landing, he still felt the effects of the wind being knocked out of him full-force; his lungs felt paralyzed.
It was fortunate that their fall was slowed down, for it seemed to offer Lorne enough time to try his hand at a rescue attempt. Arashi was still just barely too far off to reach in time, and only managed to meet up with the pokémon after the pileup had already occurred. He winced as he studied the extent of the situation, unsure of what he could do to help. Sure, he hoped that the Helping Hand from earlier could offer enough strength to Lorne to withstand being under all that weight, but he wasn't very sure that's how the boost would help in such circumstance. He didn't know any healing moves, and the only thing that he was carrying with him at the moment were a handful of berries.
Arashi spotted Kenley's fingers still wrapped around Bastet's tail as he tried to shove the boy off of Lorne, cringing as he tried to enlighten the other child, "Good gods, don't you know not to grab a tiger by the tail?" By the way her fur seemed to be standing on end, he didn't have much more time of consciousness... He attempted to help Lorne out of the way, "Hey, you alright there?" Arashi may have helped Bastet had he thought he could avoid those enraged claws of hers should she decide to use them blindly.

Her muscled tensed as she could just make out the form of Kenley coming to a halt as the whole scene rushed past her. Unable to right herself like she would if she were naturally falling, her side came to land on the Wurmple boy's legs, knocking the wind, and most of the fight out of her. There world got really blurry for a few minutes and everything sounded so far off. Was that Eevee-thing saying something about her? To her? She really couldn't tell at the moment. She tried to say something about "this stupid thing on my tail," but it sounded garbled to her own ears, no telling what everyone else was hearing.
From the outside, one could tell that the Meowth was not alright. Her eyes weren't focusing properly and she was muttering incoherently. She'd been knocked silly by that landing. But her claws were still out... just not swiping. Guess that's one good thing.
Gaining some semblance after several moments, she managed to wheeze out Lorne's name. She felt a little queasy as the world came back into proper view. "Ugh... did anyone get the name of that Rapidash?" She tried to stand, only to have a wave of dizziness push her on her rump. "I think I'mma be sick..." She heaved, but only a belch came out before she fell backward and lay relatively still. She was groaning, so at least she was still alive.

Lorne was directly under the falling pair, muttering away under his breath as they came closer and he braced himself for the impact, knowing this was going to hurt. …and was he ever right. They landed on him in a heap and he laid there sort of flattened and unable to breath from all the weight atop him but after a second or five he was shifting and breathing and moving himself out from under the pileup, looking better off than he had a right to. A bit dirty and fur ruffled, but other wise unharmed it appeared. He looked to Arashi with a light smile. “Thanks for the help.” He realized that whatever the kid had done, had helped him, not to mention the help getting out from under the others.
He could hear Bastet talking though it sounded garbled like she was talking around a mouthful of food or something, and he slowly padded over to her and lightly butted his head against her cheek in concern. “Bast?” her name was said softly. He took a half step back at her declaration that she was going to be sick and watched her worriedly, looking a bit more relieved as she merely burped and laid there groaning. He nuzzled at her cheek again then turned to the other kid, and nudged at him. “You okay? That wasn’t what was s’posed to happen…” not one little bit had that been what was supposed to happen!
He finally sat and began to lick his paw, slowly grooming himself a bit so he looked less rumpled and shook himself a moment as if to clear cobwebs from his head or something. “Okay so …now what?” he rubbed his paw over his face, wincing slightly. He ached some now that the adrenaline was wearing off.

Well this was... profoundly less entertaining than what Arashi had initially been expecting with this encounter today. He heaved an impatient sigh as he watched the scene, crouching down to balance on the balls of his feet as he made sure everyone was alright. Or, at least, as alright as one could be after falling seven feet... or being landed on from such a height. He wasn't unfamiliar with the feeling of helplessness, but that didn't mean he enjoyed it any more than if he wasn't. He hid a wince behind a sheepish smile as Lorne thanked him, considering he didn't think he really did all that much to help, "You alright?" Regardless, it seemed Bastet was in a much worse condition. The eevee-boy frowned, rocking slightly back-and-forth as he anxiously tried to grasp at any idea that could aid in such a predicament; he had to use makeshift first aid all the time, after all, just not usually within the confines of a forest so far from any urban setting.
Eyes squeezed shut, Kenley attempted to force himself to cough to kick his lungs into working again. A burning sensation shot through him, but he was unsure as to where it was originating from. He jolted, the pain burrowing into his consciousness and causing his closed-off mind to recognize that he was still awake, that he had to deal with reality. Quickly, he released his grip on Bastet's tail, his fingers stiff from holding on so tightly, and smacked his chest. The force caused the cough he had been trying to urge out to come, his breathing coming in deep and unsteadily.
Pieces of the encounter started coming back to him. Amidst the coughing and wheezing he finally registered the prod that Lorne had given him, Kenley sat quickly upright and scooted himself away, as though he would be injured more completely if he stayed put. The gravity of it all put strain on what was already fragile in the boy, a hand shooting up to his head as he huddled in place against the tree. "L-Leave me alone..!" he shouted before resting his forehead on the knees pressed closer to his chest.
Arashi snorted, "Arrogant..." He didn't really have the patience for the other child at the moment, so decided to focus attention on Bastet instead, taking Kenley's command literal. Swatting his vulpine tail onto the ground, he leaned forward suddenly, bracing himself with a hand to the ground as he rolled onto his knees, "Ah, I might have an idea!" Tugging at the bottom hem of his shirt a couple of times, Arashi yanked it off and showed it to Lorne, "There's a river that cuts through here a little to the north. Maybe I can soak this and come back with it. A wet rag, it's suppose to help with the disorientation." He hated wearing clothing anyway. Hopping to his feet, he started off in a sprint, calling back as though it were an afterthought, "Be back in a second, hold tight!"

Bast felt nothing but pain, discomfort, and the world spinning. She rolled around on the ground slowly, grabbing at her side where Kenley's knees had connected. Until her tail was released. It seemed she'd completely forgotten that she even had one until now... when all the blood came rushing back to it. Oh the waves of pain she now felt! She yowled and curled on herself, shutting her eyes tightly to make the pain go away. It wasn't broken, or so she hoped, but there was definitely some straining of the muscles and nerves in it.
She whimpered, petting her tail. Her poor, beautiful tail! When the world stopped moving so fast, she'd have a word or two for that kid! Oh, the "words" she'd have! The thoughts of her revenge were her only consolation right now.

The Eevee kid mentioned something about a rag and water and ripped his shirt but he nodded his head though he was more than a little muddled from it all still. "Okay that sounds like an idea." better than anything he was coming up with.
He eased to his feet and carefully stretched out, first one back leg, then the other, tail shaking a bit as he worked out the slight kinks and padded over to the boy pressing his head to his knees and prodded him again with his tail.
"Not so tough now huh?" he was gloating some as he moved back towards Bast and sat on his haunches and poked her in the stomach with a paw. "You okay? Anything broken? Do I get to eat the bug?" well...why not?
Of course the answering yowl made him jump backwards with a hiss, and he stood there back arched, and fur on end, which smoothed quickly. "Gah! Bast!" and there he went, nuzzling at her again. "Bast?"
Lorne felt at a loss of what to do honestly. This was new territory for him either of them being hurt and all. Oh sure he'd almost frozen and starved to death but this...this he didn't know how to fix in any way.

The river Arashi had previously mentioned was not too far of a trek away from the clearing where the scuffle had occurred. Skidding to a halt at the boundary between grass and water, the eevee-boy dunked his shirt beneath the surface, glad to note that its temperature was a little on the cool side. That would help. The fabric felt a bit heavier as he yanked the shirt from its swim, nearly causing the child to topple in with the hastiness he was trying to employ to the situation. Arashi wrung it out enough to be able to run back to the clearing with the sopping shirt in tow, but continued to loosen the water from the fabric so it could act as a wet washcloth instead of a makeshift bucket of water. It held a surprising amount of liquid.
Kenley couldn't tell what he disliked more about this particular situation, considering nothing seemed to be going right at all. He was beginning to get used to the on-and-off migraine reprisal since he transformed into what was not quite pokémon, but not usually when he was around others. All he wanted to do was secure his home again, as swiftly as possible, so he could attempt to sleep it off.
However, it didn't seem like any of the individuals that had infiltrated his home had any common sense. Did they even speak the same language? They were doing everything contrary to what Kenley requested! Stupid, stupid..! he seethed, teeth set tight as he refused to lift his head. Lorne prodded him directly after he had asked to be left alone, causing the wurmple-child to weakly swat at him in reaction. If he hadn't been willing himself not to throw up, he may have devised some other means of retaliation. Nobody seemed to ever understand he just wanted to be left alone, he didn't want to have any correspondence with the backstabbers that filled this world!
"Back!" Arashi barked, slowing his steps as he neared the two injured pokémon so as not to accidentally overshoot his mark. It looked like Bastet was able to regain more consciousness, so this wouldn't be as much of a shock to her, but that also meant she was more aware of her pain. "Here, try this. It'll help the world stop spinning, then we can try to use it to stop the swelling in your tail," he instructed as he tried to place the damp shirt on the meowth's head. Glancing at Lorne, Arashi noted that the purrloin didn't look to be in the best of condition, either. The eevee pulled at a hem of the shirt enough to be able to cover the purple feline as well, but didn't know where it was needed the most, "There's enough fabric here for you as well, if you need." Hopefully they didn't mind how dusty the shirt was... Arashi didn't very well have access to a laundromat.

A much needed coolness was felt on Bastet's head as she kept her eyes shut tight. She didn't even seem to mind the fact that the cloth compress was wet. The cold was enough for her to not care at the moment. Slowly, the world stopped spinning and her head stopped throbbing so much. Her eyes fluttered open and she groan, her tail still being caressed by her paws. The pain in that extremity had not gone away.
"W-what happened?" she mumbled as she sat up, tail still in one hand as the other was brought up to her head. She felt around, touching and retracting her paw from the damp cloth. "What's on my head?" she asked flatly, a slightly disgusted tone in her voice. She could now tell that whatever was on her was wet. Arceus save Arashi when she found out it was also dirty.
Today just was not this cat's day. She'd already fallen out of a tree, got the wind knocked out of her, had her tail pulled and nearly crushed, and most likely was given a mild concussion. Add to that, the best first aid she was given was a dirty, wet shirt wrapped around her head. As the previous events came flooding back, the lost look in her eyes faded and gave way to rage.
"YOU!" she roared in a voice not fitting such a small feline form. She pointed at Kenley with a shaking claw. She was so mad right now that her vision was going blurry again... or maybe that was the blood rushing to her head. She forgot all the pain again and tried to stand, immediately falling to a knee. "I'm going to kill you!" She growled and tried to stand again and rush the by boy, claws swiping at him.

Lorne would never admit it, but it might have been funny to watch Arashi drop the not wrung out shirt onto Kenley, or Bast. He had an odd sense of humor at times honestly.
The weak swat made Lorne prod again. "I don't know if it's possible but you have a sort of greenish sheen...you gonna hack up a hairball kid?" he snorted in amusement really. Something about it just amused him too thoroughly really.
Lorne took a good look at the shirt and gave a snort. That thing was filthy, Bast was likely to have kittens if she realized that fact... as for himself despite disliking water he did enjoy the cool seeping into him and gave Arashi a grin. "Thanks for that, seems to be helping me a little." well that had to be something. He was also, as Kenley had requested, leaving him alone.
As Bast sat up Lorne shifted and gently butted his head against her. "The bug tried to eat you. As for your head, it's a wet shirt to help you be less dizzy."
Her suddenly getting to her feet though, had him reacting and he despite being landed on by those two, stepped in front of her, and mock whispered so all parties could hear him. "I wouldn't Bast...he loos about ready to hork up a hairball and you know how messy those can be. You wouldn't want that all over you now would you?" sound, sensible advice.
Though he wondered if she was beyond reason at this point. He noticed the Eevee kids shirt had landed on the floor, and to diffuse the situation on Bast realizing a dirty cloth was put on her went "Aw man...we dropped your shirt and got it all dirty, sorry 'bout that!" he turned back towards Kenley, and a grin crossed his face, a devious look...and he deftly hooked the shirt and flung it at the Wurmple boy hoping his aim was proper and that it'd thwack him. Why not?

Arashi watched as Bastet regained her full consciousness, a relieved sigh emerging from the child. He hadn't expected it to work so quickly, but the fact that it did allowed for the release of pent up worry; she was going to be just fine. He offered a smile to Lorne as he accepted the makeshift washcloth as well, nodding as though to indicate that it was no problem, "Good, I'm glad to hear that!" However, the meowth's repulsion to the wet shirt on her head was immediately evident in her voice as she began speaking coherently again, and Arashi wasn't sure how to respond to it. His first impulse was to truthfully explain, but something told him that that wasn't the brightest thing to do... He considered gathering it up from her before she could figure it out for herself, but was luckily beaten to the punch by some of Lorne's quick thinking. Definitely a better idea to leave the explaining to Bastet's own partner-in-crime than a stranger who could easily be used as another target.
And boy was she in full-on rage mode. Arashi flinched at her sudden welling up of ferocity, it nearly had him backing up. That's one way to ignore pain... he thought with a slight smirk. However, this little scuffle had long since gotten out of hand. It had ceased to be fun, evolving into something too dangerous to continue on. He almost mentioned that there was no reason to drag it out further, but again, that nagging voice... it was difficult to keep one's words in check like this when the eevee-boy was so used to spouting off as well. Let this be a lesson of self-control, and from the looks of it, for all parties involved. he considered, absently scratching at an ear. "No use making matters even worse, I think everyone's gotten their point across by now," he piped in, "Continuing with this confrontation isn't going to change a thing."
Despite ignoring the good majority of what was going on outside his immediate vicinity, Kenley was able to ascertain that Lorne had stopped picking on him at the moment. That was one thing he could be grateful about, considering the anger he was feeling at the moment wasn't helping his migraine any, and the pestering had only been proving to intensify that emotion. However, it also left plenty of room for the wurmple-boy to recede even further into his own mind and current condition, which didn't help the nausea.
It was then that Kenley felt the brunt of the damp shirt as it unceremoniously crashed into his huddled form. The boy unfurled himself, shocked into paying attention once more as he blinked his eyesight back into focus -- the shirt found itself slightly tangled on his small horn, but took little time to peel off. His first reaction was that this thing really didn't smell all that great, but the sudden 'attack' was enough to distract the shiny bug from dwelling on how ill he felt. "Th-That's disgusting, what was that for!?" he growled, voice still shaky and weak but nonetheless venomous. His green sheen seemed to pale to a more white tint.
Of course, Arashi only offered a snorted laugh in response, "Great aim!" That was both unexpected and absolutely hilarious.

Bastet tried to side-step Lorne, wanting to go after the bug boy and tear him a new one. But, much to her added irritation, her companion was much faster and had better coordination for the time being. After a few minutes of "fighting" with him, she eventually just gave up, especially at the mention of the hairball. Those were so messy and gross! "Pfft, not even worth my time!" Bast hissed, obviously still miffed more than what she said let on.
She stomped off a few steps, keeping her back to the boys and missing the "attack" on Kenley; but all the same not currently caring. Honestly, it was probably best that she didn't see it, lest it start another argument of some sort. It wasn't fair that Lorne got to harass the bug and she didn't! So what if her harassment would probably end in him going to the hospital, or worse.
The Meowth seemed to be pouting as she sat in the dust with a loud thud. Arms crossed, she glared off, keeping her back to the boys. This day had been nothing but an utter mess and waste of her time. And her tail hurt! "Stupid bugs. Stupid boys." she muttered under her breath as they talked about lord only knows. She didn't care. At this point, she just wanted to go home and take a loooooooooong nap, to forget this whole crumby day.

Lorne was with Arashi on the relief thing. He'd been truly worried about her well being after that fall and was glad to see her coming around thanks to the wet shirt.
He gave a wink to Arashi at the 'apology' for 'dirtying' his shirt, and turned to Bast to try and calm her. "We could go back...and you can change and clean up some and I can go and nick us something to eat while you do that." well why not? Seemed the best course of action really!
"Cool cloths help with nausea and you looked ready to throw up all over the place. Just trying to help kid." Lorne grinned at Kenley then, an innocent look. Almost too innocent perhaps.
He watched Bast stomp off and shook his head. He'd have to really make it up to her now! "I hate to be a downer but I guess we're going. Bast looks grumpy." that was certainly an understatement. He grinned at Arashi. "It was an enjoyable meeting. Maybe we'll run into you again sometime eh?" he looked to Kenley and padded to him lightly patting him on the shoulder. "No hard feelings...and hope you feel better." he knew it was no fun feeling so sick!
"C'mon Bast...lets go. Maybe I can get that hat you pointed out on the way here..." trying to appease her? Hell yes.

Now that attention was focused back to the trespassers in what he so adamantly guarded as 'home,' Kenley was more aware of what they were conversing about. Well, to an extent as he saw fit to care, at least. He was back to huddling himself together, the shirt already tossed to the side, arms wrapped around his knees and chin resting on top. Eyes were locked on Lorne and Arashi for a moment before falling on the back of the cranky Bastet. He had heard her vicious temperament, and now that it was finally sinking in, there were a couple of realizations. For one, Kenley was fairly certain that she was even worse than he was when it came to pride. The second was more prone to reluctance to admit, but the prickling up the spine was indication enough that it wasn't a false assumption... he was scared of Bastet. Probably almost as much as any flying-type pokémon.
The wurmple-boy gave a quick flinch when Lorne started speaking to him again, tempted to scoot in the opposite direction the purrloin was standing if it didn't threaten to topple Kenley over. He couldn't formulate the words to accept the feline's reasoning for the shirt, but it had already been rejected. Regardless, he managed a quiet, "Oh..." Crude way of explaining that, though... There was an abrupt cringe when Lorne patted him on the shoulder, expecting something worse to come out of the action. There was no doubt that he was surprised at the congeniality Lorne displayed at that, despite all the bad that came with the encounter. Kenley had inadvertently injured his friend, angered her beyond reasoning, and... and he didn't place that offense on Kenley? No hard feelings? He lifted his head, watching the purrloin wander back to Bastet's side, stunned into silence, What. Just. Happened!?
It was all Arashi could do not to start laughing at Bastet's reaction to the situation, folding his hands behind his head in a more relaxed fashion to offset the urge. Throwing a fit? Really? He nodded to Lorne's assessment of the meowth's current moodiness and sighed, "Yeah, looks it. Man, and I thought I was going to be getting more of a workout here. I barely did any fighting!" Tail flicking in minor irritation, his arms lowered and he offered a shrug in response instead, "Ah well. Another place, another time. I'm sure it wouldn't be all that difficult to run into each other again, all things considered." It sounded like they frequented the city as it was anyway, so all they'd have to do was... stop by the shadier downtown area. It could easily be fun, but something told him Bastet wouldn't be caught dead there...
Picking up his shirt from the ground, he didn't think twice before slipping it back on. It was actually kind of nice to have that extra cooling effect, even if it was now probably twice as grungy as before. "Weird day..." he mused to himself. With a random direction selected, leading outside of the expanse of trees he currently stood in, Arashi took a few steps forth before pausing. He glanced back and gave a lazy, dismissive wave, tossing out a simple, "Later."
