Tim barely restrained a grin at the sight of the jackal puffing up at him. The corners of his lips twitched upward, his blue eyes twinkling a little. "Well then, Miss Dylis," The lion began, "The watering hole is this way." He turned towards the east, stepping slowly so the jackal wouldn't fall too far behind. Tim didn't want to tire the poor thing out just by escorting her to the den he had found. He hoped it would work for her. The lion would hate to have her spend the night in the rocks. Though some snakes he knew were perfectly pleasant and kind, most tended to be violent and cunning. "So tell me, Dylis, if you don't mind, what caused you to leave your previous home?" Tim asked, glancing down at the jackal from the corner of his eye.

"Thank you, Mister Tim," the jackal replied, noticing his small smile and slowly started to feel a little comfortable with following him. When she noticed that he seemed to be slowing his strides so she wouldn't have to run to keep up, all the fear seemed to vanish. As she continued walking with him towards the watering hole he had mentioned, she contemplated the question he posed to her. "This is my home," she finally responded, then realized she might want to clarify her statement a bit, "I grew up out here; I've never been part of a pride or what ever sort of thing the others join." Since he had asked her, she figured it was only fair that she was able to ask him, "What about you? What made you decide to leave? I'm glad you did," she chuckled, knowing that without him, she probably wouldn't have lasted the night, "but why?"

Tim's steps faltered a little bit at the question. He regained his composure and glanced back down at the little jackal, blue eyes showing a little bit of sadness. "No one has ever asked me that." It was true. And it threw him off a little bit. The lion returned his gaze to the ground he tread on, thinking about how to answer. Why did he leave? All he had known at the time was that he felt an irresistible urge to just get away from the pride. Too much had happened. The crisis, Kon coming back, everything was just so different now. Tim no longer knew where he fit in, no longer knew where his place was. "I guess I left because I needed some time be alone," He began, brows furrowed together in thought, "Some time to think. A lot happened back in my home." The lion sighed softly, memories coming back to him. It had been a tumultuous few months, to say the least. He turned back and gave the jackal a small smile. It was forced, but it was a smile nonetheless. "But you're right. I'm glad I left too. Else we wouldn't be having this conversation." He stopped as the grasses cut off abruptly, leaving a small watering hole in sight. "Well, here we are. What do you think?" Tim asked, stepping aside so that Dylis could see.

Dylis quickly noticed the expression on the dark lion's face change when she asked her question. She wondered if it was a touchy subject for him and contemplated withdrawing her question so he wouldn't have to answer. Before she could, however, he was answering. As she listened to his explanation, she felt bad for him. "I'm sorry you had to leave your home like that," she said quietly, "Though these lands do offer a lot of room to think. Just don't wander too far away," she had heard of others who had lost their way out here and never found their homes again. She didn't want that to happen to the kind lion that had rescued her. She looked ahead and noticed that the grass wasn't as large as it had been, in fact it completely disappeared. She could see the water even before Tim stepped out of the way. She looked around the watering hole and spotted what could be used as a temporary den. "It'll do for now, at least. Thank you, Red Robin!"

Tim gave Dylis a nod, relieved that the small den would suffice. "I'm glad." He responded, eyes crinkling fondly. He was glad that the jackal was safe, and would be for another day or two thanks to the den by the watering hole. The lion took a few steps back, starting to disappear into the grass again. "I'm afraid I must be going now, Dylis. It was a pleasure to meet you." He dipped his head towards the jackal. "I do hope you find some place that you can end up calling home." He said. Perhaps he would return to his own home for a little while, even if just to visit.

Dylis walked closer to the watering hole and looked around the area. This did really seem like a nice place. If she had managed to get away from the dog on her own, it would have taken her a while to find this place. She probably would have gone out of her way just looking for a drink. "Thank you," she stated again before going over and nuzzling his paw affectionately. "It was great meeting you as well." She gave him a small nod before he could walk away. "I hope you find what you're looking for as well." She hoped that he would eventually find the answers and have time to do all of his thinking so he could return back to his own home in peace, at least with a peaceful mind. She watched him leave and once he was out of sight, she went over to the pool and took a drink before ducking into the temporary den to rest. Fin
