 It was his lady's look of hesitation that doused the fire that flared inside his sunset eyes. He locked eyes with the other male, not caring that he was smaller. Maybe Waltz didn't carry himself as this buck did, but that moment of hesitation in his lover's eyes told him that he still held a part in her heart. And his part was obviously larger than the tiny bit the buck -- Distant Thunder? That's all he really was, just a loud, annoying sound with no real heat, that's what. Humph. -- was trying to squeeze himself into. "And yourself, Distant Thunder," Waltz said with a forced smile that quickly faded, "I am what my lady makes me, mind you, whether it be her stallion or her hunter. I mind not, so long as she smiles as she says it. And I do say that she does."

Starburst watched Waltz carefully as he spoke and gently pressed her muzzle to his ear again. She whispered, soft, like a summer breeze into his ear, "Thank you." She stepped just the slightest bit back, though she still remained close to Waltz. She had a choice to make and she wasn't sure how to proceed. Starburst glanced at Thunder and tried to smile for him, but it wasn't until she looked at Waltz again that she could really smile. "I-" She paused again and closed her eyes. When she opened them, she searched Waltz's eyes and she found his love and it made her heart ache, and she just was never sure if she was ready. She didn't know how to leap, how to fall like he did, she had grown up without any expectation of her parents always being together or even taking care of her. In the same way, she didn't know what Thunder was asking of her, but she would go along, maybe only for a little while to get him settled in the swamp. "Thunder, I'd be honored to be your guide and companion in the swamp. Sir Shadow, wait for me?"

Obviously there was some kind of complex history going on between the two, but Thunder reckoned that it could perhaps have to do with swamp customs - after all, she was a swampchild - and either way, since Starburst responded positively, he could afford to be blissfully ignorant. At this point his stubborn desperation convinced him that he was doing the right thing, and whatever was to come would work itself out. After all, had it not today? " Most kind of you, Dances with Shadows," Thunder's supreme confidence and positivity had managed to filter out the sliver of aggression in the other buck's eyes. " And it is I who is honoured, Starburst! I am happy to wait for you twain to complete your goodbyes, following which, I believe, you have many things to show me." He stood by, angled towards the wide reaches of the swamp and away from Dances with Shadows and his since-abandoned fowl.

Something, oh, Thunder was searching for something, and it seemed that he was forward about all things that he was looking for, some of his confidence made Starburst uncomfortable, but at the same time, he seemed so genuinely pleased that she couldn't help but think that perhaps it was simply because she had said yes and now he was just exuding all his pleasure in confidence and smiles. "Thank you, Thunder." Turning to Waltz, she pressed his nose to his cheek, closing her eyes and breathing in his scent. She simply said, "Sir Shadow." Maxx D So I guess, Blinded, then me, then you, and I'll wrap? And then beautiful babies! Woops, and sorry about the edit, my writing is doing weird things.

Waltz closed his eyes at her touch, leaning into her slightly, wishing, aching for her not to leave again. Some where, deep inside, he knew that, one day, his Lady Summer would return to him. All he had to wait. "Always, my Lady Summer, always," Waltz whispered before locking eyes with the white buck again, "If any harm comes to my lady, I will find you, good sir."

A soft sigh, and one last lingering moment, and she pulled away. With certainty, she said, "I will see you soon, Sir Shadow." "Thunder?" She turned to the other buck and smiled slightly. "If you are ready to see the swamp, I am ready to lead you." She took a few steps towards Thunder gesturing away from where he had came with her head. There were many things to be seen. Blinded By Silence You could probably wrap the RP since my next post will be Starburst turning back to take one last look at Waltz before heading off with Thunder.

He nodded reassuringly at the buck, noting " I will take the greatest of care." There were many things that transpired between then that he did not understand, but after all - the swamp was a very different culture. Thunder was a simple soul, and both the Kiokote were kind and gracious: he was ready to know the swamp. " I have been ready," he smiled broadly, " for a long, long time."

And so, Starburst took careful, measured steps away from Waltz before smiling at Thunder. She would help him settle and then she would return to her ever patient, sweetheart who said he would wait for her. And because he said he would, her heart settled and she was able to smile. She led the way out of the clearing, towards ever more damp and wet places that were warm and filled with swamp creatures that a kiokote would not see on the plains, but as she stepped over the threshold between dense swamp and grassy clearing, she looked back, taking a long look at Waltz, carefully meeting his eyes before starting the journey.
