After the night was over his mother did finish her assignment and kill the other agent. When she found out that she was pregnant she hid the pregnancy through her shapeshifting until Thomas was born and then discarded him at an orphanage. Growing up in the orphanage he was adopted at a young age by a young couple that couldn't have children of their own. Growing up a normal life for a child living in the suburbs Thomas was happy for a time. While in middle school he was walking down the sidewalk when a car swerved and hit him. He was taken to the hospital only to shock the doctors when he healed from his wounds within days. Being released his adopted parents were both amazed and afraid. By the time he entered into high school his adopted parents began to worry what others might think of their child when they were first approached by a man calling himself Charles Xavier.
After a little bit of convincing Thomas went with him and after a some training became a member of his x-men. After a couple years of living around them and seeing his adopted parents on occasion the x-men were attacked at their home. Thomas was a casualty of the battle and after being mourned and prepared to be buried something odd happened. Bursting into ashes his body was replaced by the body of a baby. His adopted parents were informed however they didn't want to raise him all over again saying they were still mourning him.
While he knows little to nothing of his previous life he has had a few brief visits from his adopted parents in the years since his rebirth. Therefore the only home he has ever known was the institute being raised by the people who were his close friends and peers before. Because he was raised at the academy he knows little of what it is like in the real world having never been persecuted for who he was or what he could do. He has attended classes at the academy since he could walk. Despite being at the academy since he was reborn and having been a mutant in his past life his powers didn't reappear again until he turned 11. Because of growing up in the institute he has a good education and has graduated from High school already and is taking college level courses.
When old enough he took a position on the Shadowwalkers at the request of Psylocke for reasons he doesn't entirely understand. Working with the team closely he was eventually offered leadership, but turned it down in favor of following instead. His reasoning being he was never much of a leader. Not to mention he figured he would mess something up if he were to lead. Through the years he has met most students that have been on a team and enjoyed a friendly rivalry with some. He has lots of friends including some of the teachers considering past history that he still doesn't know completely. His time with the x-men has been mainly pretty unremarkable with the occasional mission he has endured. Most of his active duty spent with the x-men has been letting his blood be used to heal people who returned from missions wounded. The infirmary has several vials of his blood for emergency use for if he isn't present on the base.
He has made multiple attempts to find out information on his past life through various means and still knows very little. Frequently being told they could use him on one of the junior x-men teams the Alphas or the Omegas he continually declined. Feeling that he was not cut out for those types of missions. However after the mall incident he had a change of heart and decided to join. His help healing those who were wounded helping along that decision. If he had been present after all he might have been able to stop some of the more serious wounds from becoming life threatening. He could be frequently seen during the incident in the infirmary having his blood drawn to heal the wounded. He also was briefly affiliated with the Corsairs before accepting the invitation to join the Alphas. Whether through injection via needle or ingesting the blood from the mouth. While he can take extreme amounts of damage he will eventually hit a limit. He has only hit that limit once in his entire existence which successfully killed him. While he is immortal through reincarnation it is hardly a viable option considering he will have to start life again as a baby and grow up all over again. When he loses too much blood because of having it drawn for healing purposes or from bleeding out he becomes light-headed and needs rest. Reese Barely: She is a girl she bonded with after moving to Chicago. Collin trusts and even admires Reese as much as her brother. She is a talented DJ and skateboarder, much like Collin herself.
Albert Sole:One of her few guy friends. He was a fellow classmate that initially stood up to her from some bullies when she first moved. After that they became close friends. xxxxxxxxxxxxE n e m i e s → .... xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ H i s t o r y ↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxIn the small Irish town of Lisburn, Donald Tathers celebrated with his wife Ramona as they welcomed a new little life into the world, Collin. Having their son Seamus 6 years prior Ramona’s prayer for a little girl finally came true and the family felt complete. Donald worked as a physics professor at the private school just outside of town, closer to the next city to be more specific, so many of his hours were spent there while Ramona enjoyed her time at home with the children. Donald and Ramona were loving parents, but Donald was a man who was more concerned with his reputation than anything else, and he expected his children to be at their best as well. Nothing seemed wrong with her life, loving parents and a wonderful brother that looked out for her. Things began to take a downward turn when Collin was 3 and she had yet to speak or for that matter stopped uttering laughter and sounds. Worried her mother took her to the family doctor and Collin was diagnosed with a bacterial Aphonia. Aphonia is the inability to produce a voice due to the disruption of the nerve that controls the muscles that control the larynx. Aphonia has many causes and it was discovered a bacterial infection was attacking the nerve. She was immediately admitted to the hospital in order to treat what was happening, but when the infection began to clear up the doctors told them that the damage was seemingly irreversible. Her parents couldn’t believe this was happening to their little girl and Seamus was heartbroken. Collin spent the next year and a half in the hospital for recovery and observing of the condition. When she returned home she had very little understanding of what was happening and how being mute created so many obstacles, one major one was finding a way to communicate, so her parents started taking her to classes that taught sign language. She caught onto it rather quickly and as Collin grew it was as if her condition wasn’t bothering her at all anymore and that gave her family a huge relief.
At age 10 she began to see the real strain her condition had put on everyone else. The hospital bills from her diagnosis and recovery were just about to be finished being paid off, the cost of the classes and specialists her parents took her to see all of it was costing more than one person could provide. It also appeared folks in town would come up to her and smile, but were really trying to gossip with her mother about the family’s situation. Putting the pieces together was made easy by it all and when she asked Seamus to tell her what was really going on he didn’t have the heart to lie to her. It was soon after this talk that Donald announced that he took a job overseas in America with the Apollon Institute of Research where his skills as a physicist would be proven more useful than as an instructor. Collin wasn’t too changed by the initial move, but she could tell Seamus was, being older he had many friends he had grown up with, and it wasn’t too likely he would find the same thing here.
Now in Chicago, Illinois they had a home that was a grade above their other one, enough money to pay off the bills moreover and a nice school. While this all seemed fine Collin and Seamus learned pretty quick that the people they were around now weren’t as understanding of Collin’s condition as they were back home. Kids would argue with her when she wouldn’t speak to them, one even tripped her leaving the classroom and others would just look at her funny. For the first time in a long time Collin was beginning to be confused and hurt by her condition, but Seamus continued to re-assure her that it wasn’t her it was them. Thankful for her brother’s support she became introverted from others, staying inside as soon as she got home and doing nothing but reading and listening to her music. She found that if she was to herself she felt calm and free from all the chaos of others. To keep himself busy in this new city Seamus would go skateboarding and take part in some parkour with other people he met at the skate park. He started bringing Collin here after finding the people there to be kind and together they became a tight knit group of friends. Collin started to feel better and find her place in this new home and her parents couldn’t have been more pleased with it. With these new friends Collin became an avid skateboarder and with her new friend Reese they would dj events at the skate park, finally she had something fun and new to do every day.
As all the comic books, tv shows and movies say, one day everything changed. To be more specific everything changed when her powers first manifested. Collin was 13 and had been staying home after coming down with a fever. Near the end of the week while she was napping her parents and brother came back from a dinner at the Institute. Seamus was told to go and check on her but when he did he screamed and fell back. She woke up with her Bock record still playing and found she was surrounded by a force-field. She freaked out as well but as soon as she did the force-field dispersed. When her parents ran in they told them what had happened but they brushed it off as their imagination and a bad fever dream. The next day Collin stayed home again and hesitantly started to play the record, but nothing happened. She felt relieved and started to play something else, a pop song that had recently become very popular and annoyingly catchy. While Collin obliviously danced around the room she was forming an orange colored mass in her hands. When she opened her eyes to see this “stuff” on her hands she threw it to the ground and in doing so it dispersed into a harsh blowback of sound waves. The blowback damaged things around the room, including the window and a small chunk of the wall. Unsure of what was happening to her she went to her brother and showed him what was happening. Staying calm she was able to do it again, holding the mass of energy in her hands, this time admiring it rather than throwing it to the ground. Seamus, while shocked, calmly told her that it was possible she may be a mutant like the people the news are always reporting on. She had heard about those kinds of people that had strange powers, but she never thought she could be one. She broke down scared and frantically signing that being mute was bad enough. From what they knew mutants were hated and after so long of working with her disability she had a new thing to worry about and was more than upset about it, crying for most of the day after the realization.
For her safety her brother promised not to say anything to their parents. The rest of her time sick at home was spent in complete silence, too afraid to do anything that may cause her powers to activate, including listening to her music. It was obvious to her family that she was upset, looking miserable whenever she came home and secluding herself in her room without a valid reason. Seamus finally confronted her about her behavior and told her she needed to get a hold of this, or else everyone would suspect something is really wrong. Collin knew she had to control herself, but it was scaring her more than she could understand. She started to spend a lot of time at the library researching books on sound and anything they had on mutants, but unfortunately it was mostly news reports and propaganda that pit them as the bad guys. After a few weeks she was finally ready to try and start understanding her power. From what she started to gather about her mutation she was making sound into a solid form. It wasn’t just the music that was doing it, when she was watching tv she made the mass from the sounds it emanated, and while in the skate-park she made some from the roar of applause, but she didn’t know what to do with it and thinking about running it changed its shape into a flat, circular form. This was her secondary discovery, that she could shape it. She showcased her progress to her brother and he was extremely proud of her, but he also found this would be the right time to tell their parents, since Collin now understood it better and wasn’t freaking out anymore, well not as much as before anyway.
Following his advice she told her parents what was going on, how the window was really broken, and even showcased what she could do. She waited for them to respond, Seamus even saying when he found out he thought it was pretty cool, but to their surprise they said nothing. The rest of the evening was left in awkward silence and Collin closed herself off in her room, playing with the mass like silly putty in her hands. Not able to sleep she came out in the middle of the night to storm the fridge. She stopped after hearing her parents talking, more like arguing, about something. From what she heard they were arguing about what to do with Collin. It was unsettling hearing them speak in such a way. The final stab in the heart came from her father saying that they would not raise a mutant in the house and that their reputations here would be jeopardized. She crept back to her room and upset by the words snuck out the window and ran off to the skate park, the only other place she felt safe. A few hours and Seamus found her, looping around the lot on her board aimlessly. He couldn’t believe their parents would say such horrible things, having been so supportive up til now. He convinced her to come back home before their parents noticed but she decided to stop listening to music again, in order to keep her powers at bay and her parents happy, one of the only things she cared about more than music.
Not having music and unable to listen to the other sounds around her was incredibly difficult, having to run or even cover her ears when she got the feeling. Her power seemed pretty active so when she got home she would stay in her room and listen to her headphones just to calm herself down and unwind from the built up urge. After all the hiding and sneaking around Collin came to a realization that this power felt...well it felt right, along with the fact that just not listening to every little sound was near impossible. She started to go to the skate park at night and play around with her powers while skating, since it was basically deserted at night, but Seamus would be with her too sometimes. Seamus had begun going to college a year later and with him there he couldn’t keep watching to make sure Collin would stay safe. Two years passed by and Collin had been able to keep up the rouse, but a month after she turned 16 it all finally broke down. Her father had associates from the institute over for dinner but Collin was to stay either in her room or quiet at the table. She took the latter option and stayed in her room but left a few times to grab something from the kitchen. They didn’t notice her very often but one of them had a phone suddenly go off and it caught her off-guard. She swung around but in that movement the energy was in her hands and falling to the floor. As it did in her room 2 years ago it released an impulse that sent her to the ground and shook the dinner up. The men ran out disgruntled and her mother went to check on her. She apologized but her father was furious. A fight broke out between Collin and her father and in anger he struck her. Her mother tried to help her but her dad revealed a whole new side to him; he didn’t see his daughter anymore but a freak. He told her to leave but Collin was feeling too afraid and hurt to even move. Her father jerked her up from the ground by her collar and prepared to strike her again but her mother struck him across the face. She grabbed Collin and moved away from him while he was in shock. He grabbed her mother and threw her against the wall. Donald started coming towards her, but an idea struck Collin and without a dash of hesitation she jumped up and ran through the house and into her room. Her father followed close behind and struggled with her when she tried to close the bedroom door on him. He burst through and she fell to the ground, but she scampered to reach her headphones and turn them on. He grabbed her by the arm but she reached them as the music began to play. She focused on the sound and accumulated the mass in her hands and started to think of something to use, something to stop him, something that for some reason was round. The mass formed a small ring around her hand, but with no time to question why it was like that she threw it at him and it struck him in the head. He fell to the ground unconscious. She collapsed, finally crying and taking in the whole situation. Her mother ran in but crept away crying as well in hysteria.
Seamus came back home after the incident. Her father was arrested for attacking them, but as if to still hold the family together, said nothing about Collin’s abilities to the authorities, of course she believed he still wanted to retain his status as the father of a “normal” kid. The whole event showed Collin that she couldn’t be scared all the time and she had to embrace this gift as it may safe her again one day. Her mother fell into a depressive state and relied on the support of her children to get back on track. Oddly enough the men from the dinner didn’t reveal anything to anyone, as far as they knew, but the whole event started rumors that spread through their neighborhood. No one really knew what had happened but Collin did, and she had to live with it. She continued to practice with her powers, now more freely at home, and at the skate park, but there was only so much she could do herself, she needed help. That was when her brother found out about a school that could give her exactly what she needed. xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ P e r s o n a l i t y ↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxD i s p o s i t i o n → Collin has generally calm and easygoing disposition. She is content and otherwise happy most of the time but her biggest problem is how quickly she lets herself become confused or conflicted even over the most straight forward subjects. She has been called indifferent, but it is really her wish to be neutral and stand at the side of peace. She doesn’t put her trust in others easily. She isn’t very social except with a few amount of people she has known for a long time but besides them she will stay quiet and out of things. Growing up has shown her how hard and terrible people can be so she is very wary when meeting people, but will put up an effort to befriend them in hopes of creating that bridge of trust if others are willing to as well. When she gets extremely angry or upset about something she will try to speak, better to say yell, rather than sign. She is blatantly honest with whatever she says, knowing she doesn’t want to waste anything she says. xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ M u t a t i o n: Sonokinetic Construction↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxD e f i n i t i o n → Sonokinetic Construction, also referred to as Solid Sound or Sound Constructs, gives Collin the ability to convert sound into a malleable form and use the energy mass to create simple 3-dimensional constructs.
As sound is needed for her powers she prefers to use music as her main source. Different music genres influence the color of the construct. For example: One construct that she is the most comfortable with is a force-field that becomes a yellow color because her favorite type of music is classical. It becomes red when she uses sound from rock n’ roll or orange from dance/pop music. When she uses natural sounds like from people, animals, vehicles, et cetera the constructs become a grayish green color. Constructs she knows and is comfortable with making are:

◉If the time ever comes Collin may be unable to find a source of sound to manipulate; an area of pure silence is the worst place to be with this power.
◉Distance from a source can determine the aptitude to control the sound, the farther away the harder it is.
◉One of her biggest worries is Sound Nullification, or the cancellation of sound. In order to use it she has to be able to hear it.
◉Collin is limited to how complicated the constructs can be based on her own physical and mental strength and skill. This also is put into account for how long a construct can last as well as the time between which she can do different ones. If she does too many for her to handle she could become drained, or worse fall unconscious. She needs to have pre-existing knowledge of what things are before she can create them, making things up could cause an adverse reaction from the mass ((trying to form it into something she and the energy cannot comprehend)) and injure her and others with the energy blowback. This is the main reason she is so comfortable with creating such simple forms, they don’t require as much thought as complicated ones, but the point of being at the academy is to push her out of her comfort zone and become more controlling and creative with her powers.

Music (Intermediate) She started working with her friend Reese as a DJ and finds herself intrigued by the technical side of it and has been studying the composition of music to better understand the task and hoping to someday compose her own music. She also has a general love for music and listens to it almost all the time.
Dance (Beginner) & Computer Skills (Beginner) Becoming a DJ got her started working with technical applications in the field and Reese got her into trying to learn to dance (but she'd rather be behind the turn table).
Collin is a fast reader and doesn’t waste much time reading a book or set of instructions. She loves to study so any reading material she can get her hands on she will not put down until she has completely read it from cover to cover. The longest time she took to read a 500 page book was 1½ days.

As was typical of most farm kids, especially as the sole boy of his parents, he was made to help out on the farm by doing various chores. Once a bit older he was eventually taught how to operate the various farm equipment. Farm life, however, as expected, wasn't particularly exciting and as a result nothing of particular interest really occurred in the younger years of his life.
Once he hit high school, life became a bit faster paced, lively and colourful considering he was able to venture away from the farm more often. School had always been a welcome reprieve from his farm chores and tasks, not because he didn't enjoy them or want to help out, but because he wanted some spontaneity in his life, not to just live by a set routine.
Aside from having a great aptitude for sports and being a part of practically every team the school had to offer, he also did relatively well in his studies and made sure to keep active within the clubs he was able to attend when not at sporting events. Being a busy body, essentially, was his occupation throughout high school. Attending as many events and extra curricular activities as he could, learning what he could along the way in order to keep his mind occupied.
His high school years, however, didn't pass without some less than pleasant incidents. In fact, one in particular would prove to be the very incident that would forever change Lachlan's life and eventually lead him to seek out Academy X, though not immediately.
Outside of high school, Lachlan didn't really have a job aside from helping out at the farm. Every so often, however, to earn some extra cash and do a good deed, he would volunteer to babysit the neighbour's daughter who lived down the road, Holly. It was a generally easy job as she was an extremely well behaved young girl who was quite content playing hide and seek or cards in order to pass the time.
One particular day, they happened to be playing one of Holly's favourite outdoor pass times: tag. It just so happened that Lachlan had been 'it' and was expected to chase Holly along. Naturally, as any decent near adult would, he gave her a fair head start and followed along at a severely decreased pace so as not to dishearten her by immediately catching up to her. However, Holly began venturing toward the edge of their property. Normally it wasn't that big of a deal, however, this particular day there happened to be a couple ATVs out nearby and as a result, it made Lachlan nervous to allow her to venture through the bush trail that bordered the property.
Uneasy, Lachlan decided to catch up to the young girl as fast as possible while requesting she turn around and stop going down the path. It seemed he had a sixth sense that day because no sooner had he caught up to Holly, an ATV happened to be racing straight down the trail at an utterly reckless speed. Not having enough time to think through all his possible options, Lachlan's immediate reaction was to shove the girl out of the vehicle's trajectory as fast as possible while hoping he somehow didn't end up hit himself.
He awoke in the hospital a few hours later only to be told it was an absolute miracle that he was alive, and on top of that, that he somehow hadn't broken any bones despite being hit head on in the collision. As a concerned babysitter and neighbour, it was his duty to assure that Holly had been kept safe and naturally he'd inquired about her. It turned out that she had managed to break her back during the incident. It had been rendered a freak accident, that she must have hit a rock or hard surface of sorts when she had fallen. Later on, he would come to discover it had been due to his mutation that Holly had hit her back so hard, a guilt he would carry with him even to the present.
Holly and her family had not bared any ill will toward Lachlan for the unfortunate incident where she had lost her ability to walk. Instead, they had been grateful that she was alive at all, knowing that if he hadn't shoved her aside and been hit in her stead, that she would more than likely be deceased. And while it brought comfort to the family and Holly, Lachlan was not at all satisfied with the results. How had it been that he'd come out of everything completely unscathed and Holly was forced to forever suffer for it?
Doom and gloom aside, Lachlan continued to attend high school as normal, eventually managing to secure himself a scholarship to the University of Nebraska to play football. Initially he thought about turning the offer down, opting for tending to the farm and inheriting it in order to take extra time out of his day to pay Holly visits to assure she was adjusting to her new way of life. However, with encouragement from his parents, older sisters, Holly and her family, he decided to accept the scholarship and move to Lincoln and attend University there.
It was in Lincoln, he would develop his interest in swimming over that of football and would eventually join the swimming and diving team as opposed to playing football. Alongside swimming he would pick up both running and cycling, competing in triathlons as a means of conditioning aside from simply swimming. His passion as a triathlete would eventually earn him a sponsorship as a semi-professional triathlete where he would raise money toward people with similar conditions to Holly's and ultimately lead him away from the university lifestyle temporarily.
While making a living as a triathlete worked for a year or so, Lachlan progressively began struggling more and more with his mutation. If he had unfit sleeps, he often found himself awakening in a near, if not fully broken bed alongside many other incidents. It finally came to a point where he decided he needed to learn to hone his ability before he accidentally hurt someone again, and that was what lead him to Academy X.

His father, Charles, worked for the city as an electrician and his mother, Arlene, worked at a local supermarket. They had a small house in the suburbs, they weren’t rolling in money, but they were well off enough to not have to worry about a whole lot. Bills were paid, food was on the table. And it was boring.
It was the typical, all American family that people either had or they didn’t. His parents rarely argued, which was boring. His school was full of kids that were either eager to learn or didn’t care either way, which was boring. Everything was just so damn boring. School, home, supper, homework, bath, bed, repeat. Every day. In and out. Like God was punching a reset button on his life or something.
When August was six, his parents had another child, a little girl, who they named June. June became August’s new obsession. He always wanted to hold his sister, feed her, help their mother whenever he could when it came to the baby. He was head over heels for her. She was new, and she was never boring, not to Gus.
A year after the new baby entered his life, they had a small, intimate party for the little girl. Just him, his parents, and his mother’s brother. His grandparents were either gone or too far away, and his dad was an only child. Just as his mother lit the candles on the cake and turned to grab June to put her in the high chair, the curtains caught fire. And in the sweltering, dry, Texas heat, that little fire turned into an inferno.
Gus doesn’t remember how he got out of the house, a lot of the memories gone because of his age at the time, and because it all happened so fast. It wasn’t long before Gus stood outside, next to his uncle, waiting for his parents to come out the window they had managed to escape from with his baby sister. However, they never appeared.
After the funeral was done, and his parents, along with his baby sister, were all deep in the ground, or what was left of them, Gus was taken to Dallas to live with his uncle. He changed schools, changed friends, changed his life. He went from being a quiet kid with a gentle disposition into being a rebel, a bully. Either push around or be pushed around. He was the new kid, he was a target for any upperclassmen that wanted to tear him down. So he never gave them the chance.
As August aged, his personality didn’t evolve much. Even after his powers surfaced, he just used them to his advantage. He was a small kid in general, and so, he used his abilities to be able to pin other kids against the walls, to take them down to the floor as if he had super strength. No one messed with him after a while. So his sights turned to the teachers, which landed him into countless detentions and Saturday trips to the school to help out the janitors.
But that didn’t change him much. After he graduated and went to college, he cooled his bad boy attitude a bit. Instead, he became the guy that you see today. The one that you’re not sure if he is joking around or deliberately trying to be hurtful. The guy that has that smirk that will either make people swoon, or will get him a punch to the jaw. Now, graduated with an auto mechanics degree, he is ready for the next chapter of his life. xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ P e r s o n a l i t y ↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxD i s p o s i t i o n → August is sarcastic. It's hard to differentiate between his sarcasm and his seriousness because he plays them both so similarly. He is a bit of a bully and will retort to his own made up nicknames for people rather than calling them what they prefer. He doesn't care what people think and isn't afraid to show it. It's a bit of a show off and is a bit selfish and narcissistic. He thinks he is God's gift to men, women and mutant-kind. He doesn't take a whole lot seriously and will usually laugh in people's faces, especially if he just wants to piss them off.

In his spare time, Finn’s father would also attempt to pass on his own religious knowledge to the boy. The teachings spread from scripture reading to language study, to even famed tales.
By the time Finn was eighteen, he had become a seasoned fisherman and sailor in his own right. Due to his close proximity to the ocean, Finn had spent the vast majority of his free time enjoying its beauty. He had grown to understand the ocean’s calm as well as its anger. As his eighteenth birthday rolled around, Finn eagerly enlisted himself for Australia’s Coast Guard program. He would operate as a Search and Rescue member for the next three years of his life. It was during his enlistment that his mutant powers began to manifest in addition to unwanted attention. Through his tenure in the program, Finn had quickly rose up the ranks. Although he began as a simple volunteer, by the end of his contract Finn was directing and leading rescue missions. His most notable feat was leading the Search and Rescue mission of an American ambassador’s daughter and her small party during a raging storm. Upon identifying them from his team’s helicopter, Finn immediately recognized their exhaustion from swimming and keeping afloat. In an act of valor and recklessness, the boy dove from two-hundred feet off his helicopter and secured a rescue line to each body. His rash reaction had fortunately saved the lives of the lost party and the media had quickly blown the country kid up as a “Boy Wonder”.
Finn, however, would find his fame to be short lived. During this time, the world was in anxiety over mutant existence and the threat of their unknown power. This anxiety prompted further investigation into the boy’s would-be heroics. Finn’s dive from the helicopter was declared as “impossible to be endured by the human body”. He became the notorious talk of the nation and was quickly degraded following the termination of his contract. The government of Australia had no intention to defend the boy, justifying the termination as “necessary to preserve the sanctity of the State”. Finn sought to immediately return home to the country side in an attempt to hide until the situation had cleared up. Unfortunately, by the time Finn had reached his father’s house, a large hate group had already formed outside. Approaching from the distance, Finn could barely make out the figure in the middle of them being yelled at and assaulted. In fear that his father had been attacked, Finn dropped his belongings and ran towards the mob. When he finally made his way to the center of it, the boy found his beloved elderly father bloodied and lifeless. In rage, Finn lashed out at the crowd, pummeling several people before being overtaken by their sheer numbers. He would feel sharp pain in several areas of his body caused by what Finn could only assume as stab wounds. As he began to pass out in the dirt, he could feel the cold tip of a knife being dragged in a familiar pattern across the back of his shoulder. His final seconds of consciousness perceived only the hate of the man scarring his back and cussing, “Dirty ******** mutant Jew”.
By the time Finn awoke, he was in a hospital bed a week after passing out. He had been found crawling on the side of the road by locals, but he was unresponsive to communication – a behaviour the locals described as similar to sleepwalking. Finn laid in the hospital bed as a shell of the sunshine boy he used to be. The seemingly endless supply of energy he once held had been drained in the tragic death of his father. His eyes had grown dark and weary as he came to accept the grim reality that his life had forever changed, and his only option now was to run for some sort of haven. Persecution and oppression licked at his heel at every corner he turned. Eventually, Finn would come to learn about the Academy X where several mutants were said to have been housed in an attempt to save them from the outside world. With no where else left to go, Finn would decide to leave his country for the academy as a shot for security. Although he wished to remain close to his father's resting place and house, he knew that there was no sanctum for him in Australia. xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ P e r s o n a l i t y ↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxD i s p o s i t i o n → Finn is easily summed up as humble but confident. He holds the demeanor of a man who knows his worth but does not care to show others. He’s friendly but sometimes quiet due to his habit of listening first and filtering his words. However, it would be a mistake to label Finn as an introvert. He simply finds small talk and unnecessary conversation to be a wasteful expenditure of energy. Finn is courageous and quick to act in situations that he deems unjust in order to defend others. Although he is not passive in conflict, he also does not seek to trouble others or go out of his way to prove a point. He’d much rather move on and abandon an argument than persist in a cyclical battle. He’s also quite honest in his words and won’t beat around the bush when it comes to an opinion. Often time’s people find Finn to be a man of maturity and worldliness. He comes off with an aura of capability and adequacy. He is far from neurotic or emotional and is calculated in his every action. That being said, people also find it hard to connect with Finn at an emotional or personal level because he doesn’t react or behave as someone who is fully welcoming but rather distant.
When there is a presence of danger or the immediate need to act, Finn switches into a whole different persona. He becomes very vocal and commanding out of work habit. He is very quick to analyze the situation and run several plans through his head in search of the best option. When in this “leader mode”, Finn becomes much more confrontational, even with those on his team. Although he does not mind taking the back seat and following orders in these scenarios, he would be quick to voice out any of his opinions on the matter.
Finn is quite strong mentally which leads to a very determined personality. He does not want for many things but when he wants to achieve a goal, he puts maximum amounts of energy into obtaining it. He is also level headed and calculated, far from being stubborn. Thus he is capable of withdrawing himself from most social situations without feeling a damage in pride. He does, however, hold a typical weakness of self-sacrifice and being too heavily just. He would willingly attempt to rescue anyone who is in need of help even if his life is on the line and the odds were stacked well against him. xxxxxxxxxxxxL i k e s → Finn appreciates the simplicity and quiet of open nature. He likes the distance it gives him from other people and the ability to gather his thoughts away from a chaotic society. Even more so, Finn enjoys being submerged in water. The sensation of being engulfed by water reminds Finn of the safety his father once provided. Every time the water wrapped itself around him, Finn could swear it felt like the warmth of his father’s hugs when he was a child. Finn had also developed a natural affinity to seafood as it was all that was around his house growing up. Overall, Finn enjoys the simpler things of life such as the intimate company of small groups rather than large ones. xxxxxxxxxxxxD i s l i k e s → Finn hates the current state of conflict the world is in. He hates that the violence between humans and mutants is so prominent. Although he is a mutant himself, he cannot support either extremist groups that wish to harm innocent people. In spite of his father dying by the hands of humans, Finn refuses to see them all as the same entity. In addition, Finn heavily dislikes the use of modern technology in personal items such as cell phones and videogames. As a country boy, he heavily feels the need to enjoy the world for its natural state rather than being preoccupied with something so artificial. Often times, people find Finn hard to reach or contact because of this. Despite the fact that he owns a personal cell phone, Finn regularly leaves it behind in absentmindedness. xxxxxxxxxxxxO t h e r → When people bring up his scar, Finn has a habit of shying away. It causes him discomfort to talk about and acts almost like an Achilles heel – a c***k in the armour of his social confidence. xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ M u t a t i o n: Amphibious Nature & Biology ↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxD e f i n i t i o n → Finn’s mutation makes his biology like those of deep water creatures. However, certain characteristics of this mutation are only activated when he is fully in the water while others are permanently activated. When Finn’s head is submerged in water, gills will grow behind his ears and enable him the ability to breathe underwater. Similarly, his fingers and toes will become webbed when they are in water but will return to normal human physiology when they aren’t. This adaptation in combination with his mastery of swimming allows Finn to swim extremely fast underwater – similar to the speed of a speed boat. Although his natural running speed on land is similar to an above average human, his reflexive ability had been permanently enhanced both in and out of water. His vision is also amplified and adjusted to see in the darkest of waters. His most notable mutation is the high level of durability his body has regarding blunt and traumatic force. Due to his mutation, Finn’s body has become resistant to high pressures and force. This is most comparable to Finn being able to resist the pressures of the ocean water even while swimming tens of thousands of feet under the surface. This mutation in durability cannot be switched off and is permanently affecting his body’s physiology. In addition to the durability, Finn holds a small augmentation in strength, allowing him to lift weight at peak human performance. xxxxxxxxxxxxS t r e n g t h s → Finn is simply very durable and much more powerful in aquatic environments than on land. He is thus a more competent combatant in the seas and oceans. His aquatic nature allows him to be very useful in search and rescue missions as well as scouting and recon. xxxxxxxxxxxxW e a k n e s s e s → Although Finn is resistant to blunt force, he can still be damaged by sharp and piercing objects such as swords, knives, and bullets. Although they can hurt him, the deeper they pierce his initial flesh, the more force is required to keep driving the weapon. Finn also dehydrates much easier and faster than any human. He can live on land fine, but overexertion typically has a more drastic impact on his body, requiring him to either drink lots of liquids or return to an aquatic environment. When dehydrated, his physical capabilities deteriorates by a large amount. This makes him unsuitable for missions in dry and hot zones as he would become a straight liability. xxxxxxxxxxxxO t h e r → Finn doesn’t particularly enjoy the fact that his body changes while he’s in water. The webbed feeling between his fingers and toes are still an adjustment for him personally. From there, he was raised along with his three siblings James, Royce, and Katherine, living in a loving environment in this happy family of six. From a young age, Gabriel had been fascinated by his father’s business: he owned a gun shop that worked on building, repairing, and customizing various firearms, even inventing a few innovative and custom weapons for different clientele. Out of all of his siblings, Gabriel could make the claim that he was the best shot, though they never might actually admit it. As each child reached an age that they could start officially working with their father, each one of his own siblings proved to have a specific skill that proved to be invaluable for the family business. Katherine proved to be a skilled businesswoman, bringing in more as well as higher paying clients for the business. Royce was the natural mechanic of the group, providing near perfect parts. James proved to be quite the chemist, branching out into various fields, eventually learning to create his own paint for the shop without having to buy expensive paints.
Gabriel turned out to be a bit of jack of trades in the production of guns. He could machine a part just like Royce and measure out the chemicals for gunpowder just as well as James, but he never had the savvy to work with clients like Katherine. He seemed to be more comfortable in the shop getting covered in grease and gun oil than talking to someone at the counter all cleaned up. Despite this, he seemed to excel with the ever growing needs of computerization in the workplace. The need for digital testing of weapons as well as programming for custom weapons proved even more invaluable for the shop.
Things began to change for Gabriel one particular day when he was 15, and he was sparring with his brother James. Gabriel may have been the better shot, but James was always the much better fighter. During a heat of the moment shot of adrenaline, Gabriel unwittingly activated his mutant powers, letting out a blast of plasma that nearly took his brother’s head off. Immediately going to his father, he told him what had happened. Rather than rise up in anger, he hugged his son and told him that he accepted it. “You are my son.” he said to him, “No matter what, you are always my son.” Soon the two of them would go out to the range in the back to work on the use of his powers, helping him develop and refine his aim. This took some work admittedly, and even now he’s still not that accurate, but the process strengthened the bond between the father and son even more.
It was not until a year later that tragedy would strike yet again. Katherine and Royce had to make a delivery for a client that lived in New York City, right as Magneto began his attack. Among those that had died, their names were among those identified by the fallen. Broken by this, the whole family toiled in their grief over the loss of their family. Gabriel began to sink himself even further into his work, at times losing track of the amount of hours he’d been at the bench to wind up waking up on the floor. Finally one day his father came to him, and sat him down. He’d made some calls to a school in New York that could teach him to use his powers in a more controlled manner. It could also mean that he could get a good education, and start out college over there. Gabriel gladly accepted the idea, and even suggested that he try and start a business over on the East Coast. However, his father had other plans.
“Son,” he said to him, “the man who killed our blood is still out there, and who knows when he’s going to come back out into the open. You are going to start up there in a few months, and he may show up at any time.” he took out from his pocket a bullet, “This is a plastic bullet, I made myself and it’s just a heavy as a normal one. It’s going to go into a rifle that you will bring with you. And if you ever encounter Magneto I ask you to do one thing for me.”
“I ask that you put this bullet into his head.”
Gabriel agreed, and took the bullet. He then set out and waited for the perfect moment to complete this task for his father. xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ P e r s o n a l i t y ↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxD i s p o s i t i o n → Hard-working to the point of possibility of being a workaholic, he strives to better the family business out of loyalty to his father. He’s one to take on a task and focus on it to near borderline obsession until it is done. Gabriel is a bit of trickster, usually one to rely on his wits and intelligence rather than his physical abilities or powers. He’ll also rely on the use of gadgets to complete a task. He’ll also let his shooting do the talking if he has to. He’s far more comfortable in a workshop rather than at a formal occasion, though he tries his best to be social. He’s also a bit of technophile, habitually looking at his computer or PDA more than the person talking to him. This has lead to some awkward dates for him, if not for his brother snapping him out of it. xxxxxxxxxxxxL i k e s → Target practice, reading about guns, talking to his dad back home. xxxxxxxxxxxxD i s l i k e s → xxxxxxxxxxxxO t h e r → Some people have more obvious advantages than others, big friggin’ whoop. xxxxxxx▃▃ ✖ ▐ M u t a t i o n: Living Breathing Weapons Platform ↓ ▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxD e f i n i t i o n → Gabriel is to put it in simple terms: a living, breathing weapons platform. He has the ability to undergo biomechanical shifts with his body, usually using his arms, in order fire bolts of metal thought to be a form of tungsten carbide. The metal bolts are the result of a still unidentifiable biochemical process within his body that is located within his torso, possibly his stomach. As a result, he has a much more powerful metabolism that requires more food in order for him to function normally even with full reserves for his shots. The shifts themselves are for the most part uncomfortable for Gabriel, but not painful. He currently has only the ability to fire a few bolts, usually five to six bolts can cause him to collapse from sheer exhaustion. xxxxxxxxxxxxS t r e n g t h s → . xxxxxxxxxxxxW e a k n e s s e s → To meet the demand of energy required to fire these shots, his diet consists of an extremely high calorie intake, which results in him eating roughly 5-6 full meals per day. Also, he supplements his diet high dosages of energy boosting vitamins like B12 and B6 as well as high metals like iron to support the material he produces with his ability. This has lead to the near constant use of energy drinks, in particular Monster. When not using his ability, he is slightly more energetic, and usually requires less sleep than a normal human due to the build up of excess energy. Usually around 4-5 hours will roughly put him at the same level of activity for someone that sleeps for 7-8 hours. When he uses his powers, he may fall into a deep sleep that can last anywhere potentially between 12-15 hours. However, unlike his father he has almost no business skills, he simply helps in the design and manufacturing of weapons for his father’s clients.
