Oh yes, Teak had seen the movement which caused him to panic a bit. He wasn't sure what to do if the other male would attack. He didn't want to touch him as he knew that was something that cause the other man to panic but Teak didn't want to get hurt either. He frown, hoping for the best. He backed up a bit away from the other male as it was the only option that seem right at this time.

Teak frown once again. He knew this was going to be really hard. This male really didn't want help at all even though he needed it the most. Has he was in mild thought he notice that the other male had started to shuddered and he looked over to see if he would have to go other there to help him, even if it meant getting hurt. But he saw a different movement this time he was actually concentrating on him. It was a bit weird as this noodle had never done this before but Teak knew this was a break he needed to help.

He frown for the third time and move closer lift his paws over his head. " Please do not hurt me. You can see Teak has nothing on her. Teak is only here to help." he said slowly and calmly inching closer to him. He smiled a bit hoping it would make him seem more friendly. "And Teak can do a lot. She can offer a shoulder to cry on and a pair of ears to listen to your story and most of all an open heart to anything you need." he ended with, with a friendly smile, moving even closer. He looked at him with shimmering eyes as he move to sit on the couch, eyes not moving from him to show him that he was nothing to fear.

The hand on his knife tightened and Bath eased it out of his braid. Since the other male obviously wasn't taking the hint, he snapped in a voice that verged on hysteria, "Stop moving! Keep...away, Teak..." It wasn't that s/he might be armed, it was that s/he was moving closer, moving closer until s/he could strike and grab his arms and pin them against his ribs and he didn't want to finish that thought. "I don't want to attack you," he added. S/he didn't seem to understand why he was upset. He couldn't tell him/her, but he needed to give some sort of explanation, at least to stem the tide of movement. But what can I tell her? "I won't hurt you so long as you don't hurt me," he whispered. All around him it was dark and it was cold and it was empty and silent. He had to fill it up. He just didn't know who he could trust.

He frown. No, not this time. He was not going to take no for an answer. "Teak's done moving, but Teak's sitting here and not moving." he said sternly. Something being a superheroine had it's bad times and this was it. He hated to be stern with this noodle but he had to be. He didn't want to get hurt.

Teak nodded. Good, at least he different feel treated for his life anymore. He gave a small smile and wag his tail a bit. Maybe this would be easy after all. He was a good superheroine! He was going to save this noodle and be on top of the world! He smiled at him, "Sure! Teak already said that Teak wasn't going to hurt you. Teak is only here to help. Is it okay if Teak get's your name? It will help her to help save you. Teak is the name, if you didn't know by now!" he siad with a slight smile.

"Never said you couldn't sit there," Bath croaked. "Just don't come closer to me. Got to stay safe." He slowly released the handle of his knife and crossed his arms across his chest again. "I'm Batholith," he murmured. "I think it's a type of rock formed when a blob of magma gets stuck in the crust. You can call me Bath for short, Teak." And it wasn't that hard to figure out what your name was, the way you speak, he mentally added. That thought felt unkind, though, and he pushed it away. He didn't want to think like that, not with someone who genuinely seemed to want to help. Even if s/he kept coming closer and closer and closer and stop that.

Teak smiled again. That seemed fair enough. In his panic state he had forgotten that the other male didn't say he couldn't sit on the couch. It felt good to rest his feet for a few second. It wasn't a lot of times where Teak got to sit down and take a bit of a rest so he took advantage of this and snuggle his way down lightly into the cushion. He tilted his head when the other male finish his words. "Teak is very safe! She's only here to help. You are very safe with Teak here." he said grinning.

He felt better when he saw the knife disappear and let out a bit of a sigh. I mean who wouldn't feel better when a knife left their sight. He nodded at the name it was nice, a bit like his name. His name also came from the earth and he was proud of his name because every child and grandchild of his mother was named after a tree. So it was good to find that other's mother name them after earth's beings. "Teak likes you name, Batholith. And no Teak will call you Batholith!" he said smiling. He looked over to the male and then look down and messed with his paws. "You know Teak's named after a tree just like all her siblings. Willow is good with names and names everyone after wonderful trees. So...that's why Teak likes your name because it's after another nature element. Plus rocks are neat." he said giving the other male a warm smile. He hope his warm embrace of smiles would make Batholith also feel good.

He hadn't mean to speak this much but he wanted to explain himself. Plus if Batholith knew a little about Teak then he would feel a bit more comfortable around him. It all made sense. Also since he opened up a bit, he should right? Well he hoped. He needed another lead and quick.

"A teak's a type of tree?" Bath asked almost listlessly. He tried to hold onto the conversation. He had to. He had to have something to listen to and concentrate on. "I don't think I've ever heard of a teak tree--they some kind of pine or something?" Why was it so cold in here? He shivered and rubbed his arms. "And I don't really think rocks are nature. Science, maybe, but not nature." How had he gotten that name, anyway? He couldn't remember. Maybe he'd heard about it from some book or something, but he couldn't remember reading any books about science when he was a kit. It couldn't have been something someone else named him, because everyone else called him...Something else. An article in a magazine someone had thrown out, then? That seemed pretty likely when he thought about it. It had to have been a name he had given himself. He just wished he could remember now.

He nodded. He wasn't sure what the hard fact about his tree was but he knew some and knew it was tree.A very nice tree if he may added. He smiled and let out a girly giggle. "No silly! It's a tropical tree. A very pretty one if Teak may add." he said smiling. He always added his two cents. No one never really stop him not too.

He tilted his head looking at Batholith. He must be cold. Turning his full body away from him quickly he makes a blanket pops up in his paws making sure Batholith sees no one this. He smiles and turns around with it in his paws and hands it too him. "Teak found this when she was turned around looking for one. She saw that you where cold and that' never a good thing." he said smiling. He felt bad for the noodle and it really yanked on his little heart. "Teak do hope you feel better." he said pushing the blanket even closer to him.

He grin and shook his head. "Oh Teak thinks it's nature! It's wonderful and very pretty, rocks are! So are all the things on this earth! nature is wonderful." he said smiling wide.

Bath hesitated, but he was cold, and besides, the weight could be comforting. He took the blanket gingerly and settled it over his shoulders. He buried his nose in it briefly, inhaling deeply. Thick wool, not too scratchy, though. It smelled heavily like cedar chips. He liked that smell. "Tropical tree, huh?" he murmured. "That does sound pretty. Covered in vines and parrots and stuff." He closed his eyes and imagined it. Yes. It did sound pretty. Rocks didn't sound pretty, though. "I think a batholith is usually made of granite," he said. "Granite's not usually pretty. Crystals are pretty, gems and jewels are pretty, but granite's just granite. It sparkles, but it's still just grey and boring. And I like that," he said very softly. "Not everything needs to be pretty. Strong's better than pretty anyway." He was rambling, and he wasn't sure he cared anymore. He could trust Teak--right?

Teak watched the other guy and tilted his head and sighed. It was good that he was feeling a it better, it all but overjoyed him that the other male was finally feeling "happy". The more and more he could do to save him the better he would feel about himself and he hoped he would soon open up for he could really get down to the dirty truth. He smiling looking at batholith and shook his head while talking. "Mhmm! Teak hope to see her tree soon. it would be a wonderful fairy tale dream and get away if she could! You can come see it too, if you want to." he said smiling. Maybe offering his dream to him would make him feel safer with him? He hoped.

He frowned. This male was really hard on himself and Teal knew why but he just couldn't understand why he keeps bringing upon himself. He knew now this was another thing he would have to help Batholith with, self confidence, which Teak had a lot of. Once he gain that then this problem would....should... resolve itself. He frown again and looked at the other. " Stop it. Granite it beautiful. It shines like no other rock can shine. It can do so many things" he pause to point at him, " just like you. Do not say things like that Batholith. You rock is wonderful and you should enjoy it because your rock is just as special as you. And yes, strong is better then pretty because then you can outstand anything that come in your way, right?" he said smiling. Ok, maybe not that over-exggrated but Teak had a problem of showing off....a lot.

Bath shook his head. A tropical tree might be interesting, but it wasn't all that captivating to him. When it came right down to it, he had no idea what did captivate him these days. Things just seemed so...empty now. Under the blanket, he ran one hand down his arm as he shivered. The sound of Teak's voice was lulling him to sleep. He wanted to sleep. He wanted to trust Teak to let him sleep undisturbed. The nasty, cynical voice in his head was telling him that he wasn't to be trusted, but a kinder voice he thought he had trampled down long ago was telling him that Teak would never hurt him. He didn't want to risk it, though. Bath kept his eyes open, even when they slid down.

He wrenched himself into wakefulness with a pinch on his arm obscured by the blanket. He didn't like the turn the conversation was taking. "Teak, please," he murmured, "I don't want to be pretty. I like being strong like granite, but I don't like being pretty. There's no point to it. It's just more dangerous to be pretty." He had never said that to someone else. Usually he just said, "don't call me pretty" and left it at that. He was opening up, though, through exhaustion and growing trust. "I like my name. I like my rock. I like trying to be strong like my rock. But I'm not. Other people are stronger, other people are..." Bath trailed off. He didn't even realize that he'd said that. He thought he had just said it to himself in the silent confines of his head. He didn't even stop when the words hit the air--he continued to talk. "Can't think about that, don't think about it. It's just a bad dream. Just a dream."

Teak watch as the other male was drifting off to sleep. He wondered why he just didn't let himself go. Teak wan't going to hurt him. He would just watch out for others that would. He saw the other male struggle with his inner demons just to fight his way out of the trace that was called sleep. "Batholith, you know you can go to sleep. Teak won't hurt you. She will watch for others while you are sleep. Keep a watchful eye too." he said with a smile. He hope he would listen to him. Teak could really see that this male really needed some peaceful sleep.

As he talked, Teak turn to look at him. He frowned and knew that was where his pain had came from. Someone must of really enjoy his looks and abused that. He frown again, rage filling in him. He hated that, he hated noodle that abused other it wasn't right, it was wrong. He turned as tears filled in eyes in rage. He quickly wiped them off with his shirt and turn back to him. "Teak is sorry. But if Teak wan't to say one thing. Batholith you are strong because you had the power to get away and most do not have that." he said looking away with tears in his eyes once again.

Oh was this red noodle angry. If he ever meet this guy or anyone that hurt noodles like this he would just snap.

He wanted to trust her--him, damnit--but Bath wasn't ready yet to trust anyone. Not yet. It was too soon. He couldn't trust people. Couldn't trust them to follow the right rules...You don't hurt people who trust you, who rely on you for help. There are some things you do. Some things you don't do. She's...he's...too innocent to know that...

The memory stabbed into him so suddenly that he gave a soft whimper and hugged the blanket tighter around himself. He hadn't been able to defend himself. Hadn't been able to get away. I didn't escape. I just survived, and I don't even know how I did that. Bath didn't answer Teak. He didn't know how to. He was burning up inside, whether from the warmth of the blanket or from the shame of knowing he had been too weak to put up a fight, he didn't know. Sleep. Teak's too innocent to betray me.

He watched as the other male fought his inner conflict. He frown looking away. Oh he hoped that the other male would find a way out. Something, anything that would knock him out of this horrible traced or place. He frowned and looked away. It was a bit too hard for him to look at him without wanting to go over and give him a hug but he knew it wasn't the right thing to do.

He moved back to look at him as he saw the other male falling asleep and smiled. Hopefully just hopefully he would. "Batholith. Really it's ok... Teak is here to protect you. Just go to sleep. Please just go to sleep."

The struggle was too great. He hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, either, there was no way he could stay awake here for long. Bath slid down onto the couch proper, laid his head down on a pillow, and closed his eyes. He shivered a little and swallowed hard. Please don't hurt me, Teak. I trust you. I shouldn't, but I trust you. With that last thought, Bath finally fell asleep.

He watch as the other male fell asleep and smiled. He had trusted him, he had let him in because he had felled asleep. He looked around watching, waiting, making sure nothing was going to touch Batholith.

The sun was rising and yet Teak was still up, still watching, waiting, making sure nothing was going to touch Batholith. He eyes where heavy and yet he fought it to keep the promise he gave to Batholith. He pinch himself when he knew the growing pain of sleep was too much, just to stay awake. He looked around, hoping his friend would wake up so for he himself could sleep for a bit.
