However, if you want another person's opinion on who Valentine's Day is for ask Foamy the Squirrel. He's quick to point out that it's a day for guys to give stuff to chicks so they'll put out for a cheap necklace and some not so good manufactured choccies--and not for girls at all. *snickers* Just because the big ticket items are aimed at women doesn't mean there's no reciprocation...or attempts to make it nice for men. You'll know what it means when she fixes you a nice meal, or brings you a potted plant. Or she scrubs you down in the bath, and caters to your every whim to make your day nice. Or buys you a video game. *laughs* Those are better than big ticket items, anyway. And if you're a mutant like me, you don't give a rat about chocolate, or shiny, unattractive polymer people jewelry. ..well then, you don't fit the usual V-Day bill, anyway. I applaud ya!
And I was talking about marketing, anyway.

Mr. Malaise Ashahis Thanks for the hug Nisa. ^.^ Opinions on VDay? I had to go with my mom to the doctor's at 7:30 this morning.... but I got some hash browns with breakfast so I'm happy.
Secondly, I don't particularly like Valentine's Day. It's very corporate. One of my arguments is the usual "oh it's there only for money blah blah."
But another is the fact that it's there ONLY for women. I NEVER see a commercial while my mother's watching television that says "Get your husband flowers on Valentine's Day!" No, it's always "Show her how much you care for her this Valentine's Day by buying her a $4,000 ring!"
And lastly: We should celebrate love EVERYDAY, not just one day of the year.I know it's corporate...that and the pinkness bothers me.. but it's still nice to get presents. I didn't...hm. Men are hard to buy for...

Mr. Malaise I never liked the idea of catering to men, though.
And I was talking about marketing, anyway. I'm aware of what you were talking about...but honestly, what couple who doesn't care about each other doesn't attempt to cater to each other in certain ways? This isn't a man over woman thing...it's something else entirely. Anyway, I'm in no mood to split hairs...actually, I'm in a really bad mood. So, I'm going to shut up.

I don't always do it right, but I think it's a good idea to bite my tongue at least once a day.
Usually the pain reminds me that I'm much better off silent on some occasions. Particularly if it's not worth making anyone else mad...I don't need more angries around me... smile
