She watched his lips carefully and chuckled lightly at the thought. "Maybe... It's possible for me to not have.. don't often get out much.. Only to usually see my friend or family... but occasionally I get to see sunsets from different places." She didn't think her father would worry terribly much if she wasn't back before dark.. after all she'd told him where she was going. He was always worried about her wandering off alone unless she mentioned Amelia's name then for some reason it was like he trusted that the smaller mare would some how keep her safe. It was a rather amusing thought. To be bigger than one's protector, but it was how it was. She always looked to Amelia to keep her safe when they were about.

A chuckle escaped him in response to the mare's own amusement...if she had been in this particular spot, he would have known. Turning his head to look at her, he shook his head slowly. "Well if you had ever been here before, I must say...you're invisible. I go to this specific spot almost every night I can manage and never before have I seen you and well, trust me...if I saw you, I'd remember." Cedric smiled at her, thinking of all the times he went up his hill in the valley, only to spend every sunset there alone, watching as the day gave way to the night. Yea...he may have a thing for the ladies, but if she came around once or twice before, he was sure he wouldn't have forgotten.
Keeping his pace at a steady rate so the two would be able to chat, the stallion continued to walk toward 'his hill'. Oh the excitement!! Every single sunset proved to be even more beautiful than the last and each time he saw one he fell in love with the idea of them all over again. Now, having the opportunity to share it with someone else made the whole experience that much better.
"It's a shame you don't get out much...but then again, I suppose I don't either. I don't know much of my family...my mother doesn't have one and my father is estranged from his....long story...I just have them and my four other siblings. Everyone is scattered around though, so even still I don't see my siblings very often." Cedric wasn't too terribly bothered by this because it was the way he grew up, so it was the only thing he knew...plus if he really wanted to see his family again in one big gathering, it wouldn't be too hard to track everyone down.
It was then he realized he spoke freely, without the thought of her deafness in his mind. This would take some serious getting used to, if he was going to try and get her to understand every word that came from his mouth.
"What about you?"

She thought how best to answer his question. "I've a mother that left with my sister to return to where we'd been born.. My parents.. they didn't work out.. But still friends." She smiled fondly at the memory of running around chasing her sister. "My father.. doesn't like to talk about his parents much.. but I've an uncle.. His half brother.. from his father's side.. he found when he came here to these lands." She chuckled softly.. she hadn't yet met him but she figured they'd meet some day. "Other than that... I've got a good friend.. like a sister.. and that's about it.."

Oh the poor mare!! Cedric tried best to hide his surprise (and pitty) for the life she had been given before she had even arrived to these lands. He had been born into a loving family, who wanted nothing more than for their children to grow in a healthy environment full of understanding and acceptance. His father...well, his father hadn't the best childhood, but he did everything he could to change that for his children.
And this poor mare didn't have a family that stayed together. He slightly wished he could have done something to amend that. But by her words, it appeared as though it didn't really bother her...so well, he had to just let it go.
"Do you see your uncle often? I've heard stories about mine, but they're only stories. Apparently my grandfather had a lot of fun in his younger years...my father has brothers and sisters all over the place." He chuckled...his father had always told him that Bliss was kind of ignorant, and even though Cedric had never actually met his grandfather, he wasn't sure he'd like him all that much.
"Oh yea? I wish I could say I have a friend on that level, but it's good you have someone outside your family you can rely on....especially in your erm...." He paused and looked at her calmly, "....condition." They were almost at the hill now and he didn't want to scare her off now but he liked the conversation they were having. It was simple and it was nice.

"My uncle is a pretty big guy... though I've seen him maybe.. once or twice.. I some times think he'd consort with my father to watch me when I'm not aware of it..." She chuckled lightly though her bell jingled some more. "I'm sure I'll see them again.. my family that is.. Merte''s bound to come see me some time or another.. I hope." She pondered that last bit. "I guess I could go find her.. but I might get lost... we went to find my father when we were foals fresh from the baskets..." She looked at the hill and smiled. " This the spot?"

Ha! That sounded exactly like what any father would do for their daughter. The over-protective, overbearing dad of any pretty mare!! Cedric assumed his father was like that with his two daughters on occasion as well. "You seem to be doing fine on your own...even if they are conspiring to spy on you..." He smiled at her, thinking of how strange it would be to have children of his own. Would he be protective? Probably not....then again, he knew what some mares were capable of and if any of his daughters took after him then well...
...let him only hope he never ended up with girls.
Or children at all, for that matter.
"You could always bring a friend along on your journey." Cedric looked directly at her, his face a mixture of friendship and hopefulness. "I could accompany you, if you'd like." Turning back to face the hill, it was the perfect sight before them. The sun was on it's way to setting and the hill looked as beautiful as it had ever before. Sporadic colors of blue, purple, red and yellow in the shape of flowers scattered the base of it and decorated the sides. It was perfect.
"Yea, this is it. It's almost time, so hurry to the top!!" He bumped her side with his own and took off running toward the top of the hill.

She read his lips and pondered what he'd said, taking in his facial expressions. Before she could say anything in reply though, her shoulder was being bumped and he'd confirmed their location and taken off running. Smiling warmly, she gave chase. Her hooves thundered against the ground, her bell chimes and jingled in sporadic answer to her every hoof falls.
It didn't take long and she was cresting over the hill to the top and slowing to an eventual walk. "Hey.. maybe I could take you..." She stopped talking as the landscape and the sunset seemed to cause her to stop as her blue eyes looked out over the land. It was beautiful.. and stole her breath. She'd watched the sun set with Amelia a few times and even with her father.. but Cedric was right.. this was a really unique place to spy it from. "It's.... beautiful..."
