I know a bit about quests but it's a bit hard to explain. At least for me. I have been considering making a quest thread but since I don't know much about graphics and don't really know what to quest for yet, I haven't really tried to go for it yet. I am thinking about it though.

If you look in the important links sticky, about the fourth or fifth post down is a list of purkles' quests to get a general idea of what they are about. They are started in the charity forum I believe.

Yeah, a 'quest' is something you're working to save up for, like a wishlist. When you're questing, you're trying to save up enough for whatever item(s) you have your heart set on, and you make a thread to let others know what you're going for, and very occasionally someone might donate gold or item(s) to your quest. That's all it is.

Some people make quest threads that just have one post stating what they're wanting, and maybe how close they are to getting it. People 'bump' the thread to bring it back to the first page so hopefully more people see it. Once it goes off the 25th page, nobody can get to it unless it's linked from somewhere else, like our handy announcement here, or if you're subscribed to it. Just how organized and involved you want a quest thread to be is up to you. Mine just had one post to begin with, and I had a list of donators and bumpers, but I didn't remake mine to include different posts for different things (like links to friends' quests, a table of contents, and rules) until much later, and I got ahold of one of the forum moderators to help me delete the superfluous posts on the first page that weren't by me.

It's a good idea to reserve a number of posts in a row for yourself if you're going to make a quest thread. Just put in your title that it's under construction, or not to bump yet, and make posts that say 'reserved' and then once you have enough of your own posts in a row, you can go in and edit them one by one, and then change the title and let everyone know you're open for bumping!

And quests always go in the charity/quests subforum in the Gaia Exchange forum. People who ask for donations elsewhere (often get flamed) and then have their thread moved to the appropriate forum.

Have all you new wickeds read the welcome to gaia rules and regulations thread, and newbie guide to gaia threads in the Welcome to Gaia forum, or at least skimmed it? They're stickies/announcements in that main forum.

Thanks for all the information! I confess, I've not yet read the regulations and such redface I will - eventually. It's all a bit much at first, and I'm having too much fun with my other "endeavors"! ninja rofl
