"The man that runs the rabbit game can hear you just fine. And it's alright. Go search. I'll keep the rabbtis for you. I was going on break in a bit anyway."

He hung up a sign on the game that said 'Game Closed', and kicked back with a relaxed expression, getting out a sandwhich to munch on.

Seeing that his rabbits were in good hands, he took off, dragging Kiyoshi after him. They headed in the right direction - toward where Cat had run off. Nani didn't HATE his father, he loved him... even if they were.. almost the same age, physically... which was sort of odd to even think about... he was still Nani's father. And most children - Nani included - didn't like to see their father cry.

It didn't take long to run across him. Cat wasn't trying to hide, and not concentrating enough to go invisible. He was in the back of one of the abandoned tents to the side, on the ground, with his legs drawn up, his head on his knees, and his tail curled around him tightly. The manner of a very upset, very dejected person.

Kiyoshi might notice that, while Nani looked the picture of health, it was CAT who seemed rather sickly - rather worn out. IF Kiyoshi noticed that, a few things would become abundantly clear about the predicament of the two. And that first of the things being that Cat was UNABLE to care for Nani as he should. Not that he was doing this on purpose. Someone who runs themselves down that much, and doesn't complain one iota... doesn't have anything but love for the thing they're driving themselves to exhaustion for. Being, in this case, Nani.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:56 am

Kiyoshi found himself looking around for the strangely colored young man that they were seeking out. It was an odd thing, seeking out a person he didn't find himself caring for... until they found the guy. He was sitting in the back of a tent, sitting on the floor, head resting on his knees, tail wrapped around himself, looking as though he were trying to hide himself by becoming a ball of Cat. He starred at him for a long moment before giving a slight sighing sound. What was with this guy...? Not that he exactly looked like a guy did he? He looked as though he were closer to the age group of Nani and his son instead of being close to Kiyoshi's age.

Looking over at Nani and then to Tatsuo he found himself looking then to Cat before he watched him for a long moment, seeming to try to figure out what it was that he should be doing about now... Nani wasn't rushing to him, instead it seemed to be that they were all at a silent impasse. He was the only adult here wasn't he? Lifting a hand up to rub it against his face before he stepped closer to the young man with the brightly colored hair, "Your a wreck." He told him in a helpful manner before he held one hand out toward Cat. As much as he had wanted to be mad at this person if he ever met him it was rather difficult to do so, it would be like being upset with a child...

So that gave him Tatsuo, Nani, and Cat to look after along didn't it? It would appear as though the latter two really did need tended to and he wasn't the sort that could leave people in need of help alone.

Tatsuo looked over at Nani as Kiyoshi moved over toward the Cat man before giving him a little smile, though it was a little wobbly and uncertain. He wasn't sure what he thought about what all was going on but it was something that he'd noticed about his Father, his willingness to help others. This wasn't the first time that Tatsuo had seen it and he was sure it wouldn't the last time either.

Cat allowed himself to be pulled to his feet. He was still crying. He missed Kiri... he missed Kiri, and wished he was here to tell him how to take care of his son, and why his son seemed to hate him suddenly... Once the boy was on his feet, he threw himself into a hug between himself and Kiyoshi... then gathered Nani in his arms, and held him. Although... there wasn't all that much height difference, and it was an awkward hug.

The fluffy tail wrapped around both himself and his child... and he was hurt as the gesture for affection was only tolerated. Not returned. As he pulled away, he found himself breaking into tears again. At least they were in a tent where no one could see them. Working his throat so that he'd be able to speak, Cat swallowed, and looked toward Kiyoshi.

"... W..would you come to... to our house?" he asked, sheepishly. "It's... big enough for you and... and..."

He broke off pathetically, tail curled tightly around his leg, similarly to the tense Nani on the other side. The silence was almost painful.

The moment that Cat was on his feet and was suddenly hugging him he found himself sighing again, yes... he was most definitely a child wasn't he? He wanted to question why he had ended up with Nani in his care but as he recalled his own Pocky was given over to Fenrir and she had just been a child at the time... so he wasn't to surprised that another child had gotten a chance to adopt a child like them. The big difference had been Baldric and Hari, they were taking care of Fenrir and as such they took care of Kiyoshi as well when he was born.

Sighing he returned the hug though it was only for a moment as Cat moved away from him, giving over to his son instead. Kiyoshi was quiet as he watched the pair deal with each other. Badly. He lifted a hand to fiddle with a strand of his hair, feeling a bit as though he were watching something that he shouldn't be watching before he looked watched the way that Cat moved away from his son when the response to the hug wasn't a terribly welcome one... though he could see why. The boy had gone through a lot because of this young man, things a child his age shouldn't have to go through, things that changed him greatly.

"Huh? Come your house?" Kiyoshi murmured, confused for a moment before it sunk it. It was an odd thought, to think of moving into a big place to take care of people. He had thought of that once before, having wanted to stay with Dinnye because it really seemed as though he and his father had needed to be taken care of... but then he'd met the father's lover, someone that clearly didn't want Kiyoshi around, and that thought had gone away quickly. He seemed thoughtful, "I don't know about that, but for now we should see about getting your cleaned up a little, you don't looked well." He told Cat, reaching into his pocket to fish out a handkerchief and held it out to him, "Here, you can use this. Its freshly cleaned so you don't have to worry about germs."

He took the handkerchief like it was mana from the gods, and used it near-reverently to wipe at his eyes. Nani watched his father for a bit, then busied himself with exploring this rather sparse tent. Cat was still crying, but it was silently now. He turned his gaze to his son, and bit his lip when Nani paid him absolutely no attention.

Lowering his head, he balled the handkerchief up in his fist, and that tail of his curled even tighter, the ears flattening against his skull in defeat. He didn't know WHY his son hated him... Why? What did he do that was so terrible as to make this sort of behavior happen? All he'd done was gone away for two months to get a temporary job for something nice for Nani - which he hadn't even shown him yet. And now... Why was he being treated like the worst father of the millennium?

Nani, for his part, stayed out of it. All of it. He was drawing a picture in the dirt of the tent, designing the outdoor habitat for the rabbits he'd won and was going to win.

Watching as Nani moved away from Cat Kiyoshi found himself standing there with the one that he had vowed for a time there to dislike and now found himself feeling a bit bad for. He wasn't going to completely trust him because the fact remained he abandoned Nani... but at the same time he didn't quite seem as though he were able to take care of himself let alone a child, "Tatsuo, you go and keep an eye on Nani for me, alright?" He asked, his voice gentle.

The green haired boy lifted his gaze to looking up at his Father, looked over at Cat, then to where Nani had gone before nodding his head so that he could follow along after the boy with the cute cat ears. He would leave their Fathers to figure out Father stuff he thought to himself as he moved over to Nani, squatting down and quietly watched as the cat eared boy set to work drawing stuff in the dirt. Tilting his head to one side the greenette remained quiet, watching to see what it was that he was drawing but the boy couldn't quite tell. Oh well, he was sure he would figure it out eventually he thought to himself, deciding to watch that much more carefully and closely.

The white haired pocky boy watched the pair for a moment before looking back to Cat, thinking about what it was that he should do, what he should say, "You will need to give him time." He said finally, trying to figure out how to best word things since just blurting out what he thought wasn't anyway to make friends, "Children are delicate things and as such scary or painful things stick with them." He explained, thinking that maybe Cat didn't understand exactly why what he'd done hurt Nani so much. Just because the boy had cat ears didn't mean he was a pet, not that a pet should be forgotten for months on end either, "If your lucky he will come to forgive you."

Once the boys were occupied, Cat withdrew a little farther back. His tail was bottlebrush by now, and still wrapped tightly around his leg.

"I don't understand what I did to make him mad... I went off for a few months to arrange for him to go to a private school, and to get the money for it... But Orion should have told him that I was going... And why... and I left a lot of money for new clothes for him, and a special bedroom and..."

He started crying again. "I just wanted him to go to school..." he sobbed. "I didn't want him to HATE me for it!"

---------------
Nani wasn't pay any attention to the grownups outside the tent. Instead, he was filling in little pictures of rabbits inside the designed habitat. He looked across and smiled at the green one, tail twitching behind him. Curious now... Oh, this one MUST have a nickname....

"Cat thinks that Nymph's dad will like this idea." he explained... expecting the younger child to realize he was talking to him - which was a bad habit. "Nymph should help Nani figure out where to put the rabbit homes!"

Why Nymph? Nymphs were forest spirits... he looked like a forest... hence Nymph.

Kiyoshi's eyes narrowed slightly, looking as though he didn't believe a word the one before him was saying, "You don't need to lie to me. Nani already told me what happened while you were away." He told Cat, not at all happy to hear that the young man was trying to cover up what had happened so as to appear less like the bad guy in the eyes of those around him. He felt his temper rising again though it didn't show on his face as he was forcing him to at least look calm even if his hands itched to catch hold of and shake the other man.

"Instead of worrying about trying to sound good in front of other people you need to figure out how to make up to your son the fact that you abandoned him like you did." Kiyoshi explained to the cat eared man, wanting for him to understand that right now the most important thing was Nani, his safety and his happiness, nothing more then that. If he didn't think of him first he wouldn't be able to make things up to his boy. How he would go about that though Kiyoshi had no idea... how did one fix such a thing like what Cat had done? He didn't even know where to start...

"Perhaps starting with an apology might help?" He suggested, it was a guess but at the moment all he could do was guess since the situation wasn't one that Kiyoshi had much of an idea about when it came to fixing it.

*****

As the little bunnies were added to the picture Tatsuo's eyes went wide as it suddenly clicked in his mind what it was that he was looking at. It was a bunny house! He gave a little smile before looking over at Nani as he started to speak, "Huh?" He murmured, wait... what? What was a Nymph? He wasn't quite sure but after a moment he got to feeling that whatever it was Nani was calling him by that name. He opened his mouth as though considering telling the other boy what his name actually was before he gave up, shook his head, then turned back to what he'd been doing which was starring at the drawing.

"I will try to help." He said in a quiet voice, ever shy, and unable to really look at Nani when he was talking to him. It was so much easier to talk to the bunnies he thought to himself, wishing he was a little better to talking to others without always getting so shy when he tried it. At least he wasn't stuttering this time around, that was a bonus.

Cat's tail uncurled, and started to lash. "Why would I lie to you?" he asked, one ear flicking. "I left orders for my friend Orion to come get him, and he spent a lovely two months having the time of his life at Orion's boathouse!"
He turned around, tail curling again. "Maybe he preferred it with Orion. Maybe I'm just a bad father."

Even the set of his body told Kiyoshi that Cat wasn't lying. There had been a MASSIVE misunderstanding between father and son, due to a lack of communication between the two, and a bunch of assumptions. A HUGE misunderstanding that might break their bond permanently, if not addressed.

"Oh, who am I kidding..." Cat said, sighing, and slumping. "I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not a father at all." More tears slid down his face. "No one taught me how to BE one."
A bit bitter at Kiri? Possibly.

----------------
Nani, meanwhile, was nodding at Tatsuo, and handing him a stick from the ground to add to the drawing with. "Nymph should draw a circle here... and a circle here... and add a bunny here, here, and here. There's got to be five! Nani's going to win the others. Does Nymph want to know Nani's secret?"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 31, 2010 4:33 am

"Then your friend is a b*****d because he never picked your son up. There was no lovely bathhouse, no private schooling, nothing like that at all. Nani told me that he spent two months living on his own because you abandoned him." He said, not happy at all with anything that was being said because he was more inclined to believe Nani since the cat eared boy was his friend. Not to mention the fact that he was a child and a child would have no reason to lie about something like that.

Watching Cat slump and looked defeated he was torn with wanting to pat him on the head to sooth him as well as wanting to agree that no, he didn't know what it was that he was doing. Instead he took in a deep breath through his mouth, let it out slowly through his nose, and kept himself completely calm and neutral looking from the outside even if on the inside he was roiling with emotions.

"Even if nobody taught you rule one is not leaving your child locked outside in the elements." He said, forcing his voice to stay even instead of snapping the words at then young man.

*****

Tatsuo looked over at the bunnies that Nani had drawn before nodding and set to work trying his best to draw circles and bunnies where he was told to draw them. The circles he didn't alright enough at though his bunnies weren't the best... no where near as nice as the ones that Nani drew which made him wonder if he didn't have the artistic gene that his Grandfathers and Aunt had. He knew his Daddy didn't have it either so he wasn't to worried about what he was missing.

Pausing in his drawing he looked over at Nani curiously, "Nani has a secret?" He asked of the kitty boy curiously.

Cat's mouth dropped open wide at what Kiyoshi said. "Orion never..." His eyes narrowed dangerously. They tinged to red. Blood red. Angry Cat was Angry. Then he calmed.... His eyes still red. Not really calm, but acting it. Tears were gone. In their place was utter rage. When he spoke, it was on the verge of a whisper, as he was probably trying not to literally growl.

"I will... go talk with Orion." he said, ears flat against his head, and tail twitching in a manner that was NOT confused or friendly. "THEN.. I will have a long chat with Noname."
That red-eyed glare turned up toward Kiyoshi. "Can I trust you to keep him busy and calm until I get back. This... shouldn't take very long."
As if to emphasize exactly what he was going to do, he looked his nails over once, before starting to pace. "I have some things I have to tell him... and now I understand why he hates me."

----------------------
Nani grinned his Cheshire grin as the green one drew bunnies and circles. He didn't have quite the artistic touch Nani had... but he was pretty good! Gently, he grabbed the boy's hand and the stick both, and helped him draw a better circle. Then pulled back.
"Can Nymph do that without Nani? Try over here."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 31, 2010 12:54 pm

"Yeah, Orion never." He said, watching as the boy went from all teary eyed and defeated, ready to fall over under the weight of his sadness to looking rather like he had rabies or something for a split second before it was all forced down under a mask of calm similar to the one that Kiyoshi was wearing. He crossed his arms over his chest, "I will tend to things here, just remember that murder isn't legal as much as some people might deserve it."

With that the white haired male turned on his heel to walk over toward where the two boys were playing. He had no more reason to stand there if Cat was leaving and since they'd had their talk. No matter if it was the fault of someone else it didn't mean that Cat hadn't been careless he thought to himself. The boy needed a lot of training when it came to what he should and shouldn't do with a child that much was sure. He found himself thinking that perhaps he did need Kiyoshi's help... but shoved the thought aside, he couldn't go around saving everyone. As much as he wanted to he would find himself quickly unwanted and unneeded just like the last time around.

Kiyoshi moved to stand near to where Nani and Tatsuo were playing, a little smile on his lips, relaxing as he watched their play. It was a lot simple as a child then it was as an adult he thought to himself, he missed it at times but then again if he were still a child he wouldn't have Tatsuo would he? He was glad he was the age he was, it gave him the chance to help others from time to time, even if things were more complicated.

Tatsuo lifted his pretty gaze for a moment to look up at is Daddy, giving him a smile before he turned back what he was being showed, smiling when the kitty boy helped him to draw a better circle before he gave a slow, thoughtful nod of his head, "I... think so." He murmured, sure that he could do what Nani was doing, it didn't look to hard after all. Giving a slight smile he tried again, doing as the cat eared boy had showed him, taking it slow and careful before drawing his stick back, "How does this look?" He asked, sounding hopeful that it was better then his last attempt.

Nodding a bit to himself, Nani helped him draw another one, so he could kind of get the feel of what a 'circle' felt like. He didn't notice Cat phase into thin air as the boy ran off to take care of that little problem - and probably wouldn't have cared. At the moment, he was too busy with his planning.

"Nani thinks another hutch should go here... and then another big area where there could be... umm... water and stuff, and..." He looked up at Kiyoshi. "Would Kiyoshi help us with planning a rabbit home?" he asked, giving another big grin.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 01, 2011 2:30 pm

Tatsuo gave a little smile as once more Nani helped him to draw another circle and then he drew one of his own, this one looking the best of all of what he'd drawn so far before he grinned, looking up at his friend, "I think I'm getting it." He said in a rather happy manner, while it wasn't the art that his grand parents or his Aunt could pull of it was still art and it made the green eyed boy smile.

When Nani started to describe where the different things should go the boy nodded his head in agreement before asking, "What's a hutch?" He wondered what they were for and how the bunnies would use them it if they were going to give one to them. It was a curious thing. He was sure that Nani must know though since he was the one in charge of planning. Lifting his gaze at mention of Kiyoshi, Tatsuo smiled at his Daddy, "I am sure he will help, he likes to help people."

Kiyoshi chuckled, kneeling down, careful to draw his long braid around to sit it in his lap so that it wouldn't get dirty, "I will help where I can." He said, looking things over that Nani had drawn so far. To the milk pocky bishie it was a little funny that they were all kneeling down, drawing in the dirt when they were surrounded by a carnival, games, animals, and rides... he didn't mind though, not since the boys were enjoying themselves. That was really all that mattered to him.

Nani was content to draw in the dirt for a while... but soon he got up with a grin, and darted back out of the tent, and back to the rabbit game. Using some more coins from the pile he still had in his pocket, he proceeded to win the rest of the rabbits [three had been added] - and the owner of the stall had to start offering stuffed things like the rest of the stalls. He seemed pretty happy that the rabbits were going home with someone, though - and more than willing to hang onto them until the end of the fair today.

"Nani won the rest!" he said, giving a huge grin. "And now Nani wants to go do something else.... What does Nymph want to do?"
