Amerald nodded. "That's it." he said, smiling. He walked away from the table and left Kaden there, going to his desk to grab some papers and a pen. He sat down, beginning to write. He always cataloged his achievements for further analyzation later on in his life, just in case they were needed.
"Have you thought of a name yet?" he asked, still writing, not looking up whatsoever from his paper. He then finished writing, pushing the paper aside and turned towards Kaden and smiled, taking off his glasses and rubbing his eyes. He leaned his elbow against his desk and rested his head on his balled hand.

Kaden glanced up from the child as Amerald moved towards his desk, then looked back down. It still hadn't fully clicked with him that this child was his. That he was responsible for another person, another living being. He just stared in amazement at the boy.
The question jarred the fisherman out of his thoughts and he blinked, startled a bit. A name? Well, that made sense. This was his child. Parents named their children. "Eirik," Kaden answered, saying the first name that really popped into his head. It was a good name and thus it would be the name.

Amerald smiled as he turned his gaze constantly between the two figures after putting the pen down. He nodded when the name was given. "Eirik is a great name. I bet he will be proud to have it." he said, smiling. He was happy that this man had come up with a name so quickly.
"Do you believe you'll be able to care for this child? Get him from place to place without allowing his abnormalities to be seen?" he asked, quirking a brow. He then looked down at the ground as if he were thinking about something. Was this man ready to become a father? Amerald surely hoped, for if he wasn't, Amerald had wasted his time.
"Kaden, this is important. You must keep him a secret from everyone for now. Hopefully in a few years we'll be able to come out of this...awkward closet so to speak. We can't allow his existence to be known...or, if it is known, they cannot know of his abnormal attributes. If the guards find out, they could arrest you, me, my daughters and your son. I have done my job thus far, keeping a low profile. If you could continue that tradition, I would be in your debt." he stated, nodding a bit.

Kaden nodded, still looking down at the boy. Had he seen movement? Perhaps... He was looking more closely when Amerald continued on, now talking about secrecy.
The fisherman looked up to study the alchemist for a few moments. "Well, I live outside of town... and I don't think the fishies will talk to the guards." It seemed that his lifestyle was rather perfect for keeping the boy. "I mean, I go to town to sell my catch, but I never stay long and he wouldn't have to come with me, would he?" Going to town as a child had been a big event. His father usually went in alone, leaving the kids behind to do something boring, like mend nets or scale and gut fish.
He rested his hand on the table, near to where the boy's hand lay. A brush against the back of his hand made him glance down to where fingers were twitching.

"Ah, that is quite perfect. I'm glad that you do live outside of town...the only issue is getting him over to your place. You do plan on using the tram, yes? I wouldn't want you to walk all the way there with him, just for safety's sake. And to answer your question, no, he wouldn't need to come with you per say. He could definitely stay by himself in the house doing whatever you wish. Lets just hope that he's a good kid and doesn't get himself into trouble while he's alone." Amerald said, chuckling.
He then stood up and walked to where the boy lay. He glanced down, the boy was definitely beginning to awaken. "Good, it's beginning to take affect." he said, his glasses falling down a bit on his face. He instantly pushed them back up as he laid both his hands down on the boys leg. He clutched the boys leg tightly, as though to massage it, making the blood begin to flow faster.
It was going to happen soon, most definitely. The boy would awaken and Kaden could be introduced to his new son.

Kaden grimaced a bit. He sure hoped this kid wouldn't cause any problems. He was already going to have to adjust his living style to accommodate another living being. The fisherman watched as Amerald started massaging the child's leg.
More movements were becoming apparently. Shoulders hunched and relaxed, causing the arm near Kaden to fall off the table. Before the fisherman could reach out for it, the fingers curled up as the hand made itself into a fist. A soft groan escaped slightly parted lips as life started to flow more and more through the young boy's body.
Kaden watched in amazement. The kid could've been taken for a corpse only minutes ago. Now, it was obvious that the child was indeed alive.
Eyelids fluttered open and the boy blinked as he tried to bring his surroundings into focus.

It was perfect. The boy was waking up quite nicely and it seemed that everything was going fine. Amerald smiled brightly as the boys eyes began to flutter open. "Hello there child. Welcome to the world." he stated as he leaned against the table the boy was sitting upon.
He then glanced over at Kaden who was quiet. "I'll let you two be alone for a bit. I'll come back. He's definitely waking up. Teach him some things. Whatever you fisherman do or whatever you'd like really haha!" he said, slowly getting up and moving towards the door. He smiled as he looked back at the boy once again. It was time to give these two some time to bond. He then walked up the stairs and into the main room.
The morning was still upon them and Amerald had yet to open the shop. He rolled his eyes as he passed by the shop door and then shrugged as he kept going towards the kitchen.

The boy's head turned towards the sound of a voice, eyes still trying to adjust and focus. The child pushed himself into a sitting position as Amerald continued to speak, stretching as life flowed through his body and awoke nerves and muscles.
Kaden could only watch in amazement as the boy definitely showed signs of life. He opened his mouth to protest Amerald leaving, but the alchemist was already gone. What was he going to do with this boy? How much did the kid know already? Surely not much as he'd been pretty much dead just minutes ago. "Uh, hello. Hi."
The boy's head turned as another voice spoke. He squinted as he tried to bring into focus the face of the speaker. His head tilted slightly as the voice stopped speaking.
"Well, uh, I guess I'm your dad, kid. Er, Eirik... that's your name, you know." Kaden frowned, leaning against the table where the boy was sitting. What all was he supposed to be saying? This whole ordeal was a bit odd, after all. How long was Amerald going to be gone?? The fisherman gave a sigh and glanced up towards the boy, wondering if the kid could even speak.
Eirik continued to listen as his new guardian spoke. Then the man went quiet except for the sound of a sigh. "Dad...?"
Kaden gave a bit of a start. Oh it was going to take him time to get used to that! "Er... yes... Eirik?" He reached up to gently stroke the nearer wing, amazed at the boy still.
"MINE!" Eirik proclaimed loudly as he felt something touching his wing. Both wings snapped closed and the boy scooted backwards on the table, getting rather close to the edge that he could hardly make out.
"Hey now! Watch out!" Kaden quickly made his way around the table to catch the boy as he started to fall backwards off the table. "Hey, hey... you're okay." He tried reassuring the boy who was startled by the sudden sensation of falling and then being caught.
Eirik had never been so scared! One moment he'd been falling backwards, arms and wings flailing about to try and stop himself and then he'd been wrapped up in the strong arms of his father, saved! The boy burst into tears of relief and flung his arms about Kaden's neck. His daddy had saved him!
Kaden had no idea what to do now as he was holding a rather naked kid who was clinging tightly around his neck and sobbing away. This.... was definitely awkward.
