F'ren smiled, "hehe yeah they wont let you forget now, i guess it's when they're older you need to be more alert, when they have other things to think of" he said, thinking of training and things, as well as Flights. Rubbing the last bit of oil into Toulonth's hide he heard a growling stomach, if it hadn't been for S'kor mentioning it was Scarath's that rumbled he would have sowrn it was his, then another loud rumble came from his direction this time. "i think Toulonth is too, since i'm ravenous yes lets go eat, all of us" he laughed.

"Sand is nice, there is a little where we sleep you know, for rolling and itching in or so some of the older ones have mentioned" replied Toulonth to Scarath "i cannot wait to fly F'ren places, and to get Yours a Small one" she chirped happily, then got all embarrased as Scarath's stomach growled, followed shortly by her own, as if the Bronze one's runbling had triggered hers "Mine doesn't let me out of his sight, he would worry if i didn't" she rumbled "is Yours going to flavour your meat? if he does could i try some? just dont tell Mine or he'll worry that i shouldn't eat it if He didn't give it to me. If YOU give it to me he cannot argue" she said the last a little smugly, her reasoning was that it wouldn't get Scarath's into trouble with Hers either

"Hmmm, I would have thought the growing period would be most dangerous. When the hide is still tender and stretching over night." He glanced fondly at Scarath. Hearing the answering rumble from Toulonth's stomach, he joined in the laughter. "They have it well timed." Rising from his bed, he stood by Scarath as the bronze waited for the green to go first. With a smirk he whispered to F'ren, "Ladies first eh?"

'We will have to find such places when we get big enough to take Ours out. I cannot wait to fly with Mine, too, and we will go far. Mine always suspects I'm in the kitchen when I'm out of sight.' Which was probably exactly where he was anyhow. Scarath's eyes whirl reddly with hunger; even so, he waits to let Toulonth go first. 'Yes, Mine will flavor my meat. I will give you a big juicy piece for you to try. Your's wont refuse an offer from a bronze.' Scarath nodded with self-assurance.

F'ren smiled, "it's when they can go Between that it's deadly to forget to Oil your dragon, have you been Between before?" he asked "it's colder than you could imagine, or so iv'e been told, i've had no real reason to ride someone's Dragon so i dont even know" he admitted, chuckling at S'kors comment of timing, "must come with sharing bunks" he suggested weakly. His jaw would have dropped open had he not have been grinning at the sight of Scarath letting Toulonth lead the way "Well, that's different" he mumbled to himself.

Toulonth was delighted, "Mine pretty much never lets me out of his sight, unless i walk away too fast" she replied, "Really? i'm sure i will like the meat Yours seasons" If Dragons could blush Toulonth probably would have right there and then, a Bronze making way for a green?! How wonderful "Thank you Scarath," she said stepping quickly so that she didn't hol Scarath back from feeding.

S'kor shook his head. "Nah, never left the ground. Traveled with the caravan and never had a reason to fly dragonback. It should be interesting." He seemed amused by the bronze's attitude. "Oh? Do bronzes not usually act that way?" He would be the last person you'd ask about Weyr hierarchy; traders sure, but dragons? Not a clue, but oh he was learning!

Scarath moved out almost right on Toulonth's tail. He really was hungry now and was focused on getting there. Where was there? To the feeding table of course. He moved around and caught up to the green. A glance over his shoulder to be sure His and Toulonth's were following closely. 'Your welcome Toulonth. Why doesn't Your's let you out of sight? Mine doesn't mind too much, unless he thinks I'm heading towards the kitchens.'

F'ren walked behind his dragon, making sure to keep his eye on her "Bronzes dont usually defer to a Green no, Golds and Crimsons yes, but not usually Greens, we're the lowest rank in the Weyr" he said, not concerned at all about rank or station, which had been obvious at the hatching feast. "You'll learn fast S'kor" he said amused.

Toulonth hurried up her walking, Scarath was hungrier than her, she could tell by his eyes we will go quickly she said with a mental smile. i don't know, i think he's afaraid he will forget, or lose me, he can be very forgetful Mine can she sighed. but i will remember for him, if he forgets i will remember, we will be a great team

S'kor shook his head. "I don't see why. Is it because of size or they don't breed? That doesn't seem like a good reason to me. Why shouldn't they have respect?" He watched the two dragons for a moment then repeated the head shake. "No, I don't see any reason to curb that attitude. If Scarath wishes to show respect to whoever he wants, that's fine with me." He grinned when F'ren said he'd learn fast. "I'll have to wont I?"

Scarath crooned and slowed his pace as the table came into sight. 'Look Toulonth! The table is empty, we will get the best picks.' He seemed pleased with that. Now he wouldn't have to be rude to get what he wanted. 'Yours will not forget or lose you. He will do good with you beside him. Mine, don't forget to spice the meat.' His eyes whirled happily.

F'ren shrugged "It's the way it is S'kor, Greens may be small and ranked lowest but they're practically the best at catching the stray strands of Thread, or so i've been taught, they're swifter than a lot of the other dragons and they're just as useful" of course! he chuckled "even Toulonth agrees" he said with a smile "It's always the dragon's choice, even bronzes will give chase to a green when she rises sometimes" turning towards the tables in time to see Toulonth hurrying along.

Toulonth sped towards the tables, very hungry now there was meat right there "I am glad we are the first, Yours can spice the meat he wants!" she replied "and look, there are some large peices! and food for Ours!"

Unfortunately Zevra decided that right there and then was the perfect time to want food as well and his loud creels were enough to make Zeren cringe "Go on then pest, go and eat" he said, almost affectionately to the silver flitter.

He had to agree with the other as he mentally compared the sizes of adult bronzes to the greens. "Small and agile. Nothing wrong with that." Maybe his attitude had been affected by having male and female traders. He laughed, "well that's good!" F'ren's comment near stopped the young man in his tracks. Did he just say what I think he said? He had to mull that one over in his mind for awhile.

As they approached the empty temple, S'kor reached into his pouch and pulled out a couple of spices. "I'll have to see when the caravan comes in next, if they have more of these spices." He gave a consolidating grin to the other. Getting to work to satisfy he's dragon's hunger, he started picking up pieces and giving a light dusting of the spices to the meat. That ready he started handing the pieces to the patiently waiting bronze.

"Hu, wonder when they can start feeding themselves? Should be soon don't you think F'ren? Say, Scarath, how do you think I'm suppose to spice your food once you start getting it yourself? I really doubt people are going to like you bringing me every kill." That could indeed be a problem in S'kor's mind.

'I do not think they will want to eat while they are feeding us. Mine is very peculiar about that in fact.' He could feel his mouth watering as he watched His apply the spices. As soon as the meat was ready, he reached out and picked a largish piece for the green. 'Toulonth wont you try a piece of my meat?' His eyes whirl with humor.

The dragon had to seriously consider His' question. This was really important. How would get spices when he was the one catching and feeding? 'Perhaps only the last one then Mine? Or bring me a treat from the kitchens after dinner.'

F'ren mused, and sat near Toulonth and Scarath after grabbing a bowful of food from the tables, "Oh! those spices smell good" he said smiling "Dragons huh? get what they want even if you try and discourage it" he laughed as Scarath 'handed' Toulonth some meat, and before he'd been able to tell her no, she'd swallowed it in one gulp. "they'll be able to get their own meat once they're flying, then when they're strong enough they'll learn to fly with us on their backs" he replied.

Toulonth waited patiently while S'kor spiced Scarath's meat, he eyes moving betwen F'ren and Scarath "Thank you Scarath i would like some yes" she said, taking the meat from the larger Bronze, she knew Hers would try and stop her so she swallowed it down as fast as she could "Mine, this its very tasty but.... i don't think i could eat it all the time" to Scarath, her eyes whirled gently happy and content "delicious Scarath, i think i would like this only sometimes, the spices are ...strong"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 13, 2010 12:47 am

He chuckled. "Indeed they do. Scarath says the same thing, shortly followed by 'Can I try it Mine?' I ordered a couple of new ones last time the caravan rolled through. Still waiting for them unfortunately." He blinked as Scarath snagged a piece of meat and passed it to the green. "Wall I never!" He laughed. You could have asked silly beast. I wouldn't have minded giving her a taste-test.

After making sure there was plenty for his dragon, he began to thoroughly clean his hands. It was something he'd picked up handling the spices. Contamination could seriously lower the price of a spice. So, he always cleaned his hands after handling anything. That done though he helped himself to some food. "So what did she think of it?"

The bronze crooned happily. 'That is alright. Mine makes is stronger for me. Next time I will tell him which piece is for you and he wont put nearly as much on it.' A green-red eye turned on his rider. 'I could have, but it was funner this way. I will be sure to tell you in the future Mine. She wanted to try it and was afraid Her's wouldn't let her.' Working quickly now, the dragon focused on filling his belly.

F'ren sighed "Don't come complain of bellyache later on Toulonth" he said, still not much good at speaking in his head to her, preferring to talk out loud to the dragon, proceeding to feed her some usual meat, knowing her preference for the larger chunks that she liked to take time to chew, IF she chewed at all. Tell Scarath's that it was tasty however it was strong for me, i would not like to eat it like this all the time
And F'ren dully repeated what she'd said.

Toulonth concentrated on eating the rest of her meat, only chewing after practically inhaling the first few chunks Mine i am getting sleepy she told F'ren after a while Scarath? is Yours finished? i'm taking Mine back to our bunk, i'm sleepy she said, almost shoving F'ren towards the doorway towards their beds

S'kor chuckled at F'ren's comment. "I've been pretty careful in which ones I give. I don't think they will give her a belly ache. And she didn't really have that much, so with the unflavored meat I think she'll be fine." He smiled at the green. "I see. Next time you would like a flavored piece, please, tell me and I wont put so much on." He seemed amused by the whole situation. They could be quite cute.

Scarath tilted his head. While Toulonth may have finished, his stomach was still slightly empty. 'Not yet, but soon. Mine wishes to get clean and I want a bath and oil. We will catch up to you later Toulonth. Sleep well.'
