Heres my perspective on it:

I'm a God believer, and a Christian. We (or I) don't believe that gay people will go to Hell, but will be lost (that may be a contradiction but oh well). Also, note this:

In the Bible, God made man to be with woman. If he approved of gay/lesbian marriage, he would of probably had another Adam.

I believe that if there is a God, and he/she was really that adamant about men being with women, he/she wouldn't have given humans free will to choose who they love.

Pertaining to the United States: I believe that the First Amendment is there for a reason. The state should not favor one religion over another, and therefore it does not have the legal right to ban gay marriage.
As for personal opinions, I don't see civil marriage as anything "sacred," it's a tax benefit. A religious marriage may be sacred, but gay people are not asking for a religious marriage. They're simply asking for a living situation to be recognized. And why the hell shouldn't it be.
I've read a lot on this topic, and the counter-arguments are all really easy to shoot down. I can understand if a person doesn't personally approve because of their religion, but really, they have to admit that legally it makes sense.
If you don't think it does, throw out some counter-arguments and I will be happy to challenge your ideas.

Just because he created only Adam and Eve doesn't mean he didn't approve of it. You're saying just because he did one thing, means he doesn't approve of you doing another.

Do you really think God would condemn someone for being in love with someone of the same gender?. Is he really that hateful?

If he really loves all his children, I am sure that he wouldn't mind the homosexual ones.

I'm Agnostic btw. So i don't really care if there is a God. I'm just giving some food for thought.

Meh, I refuse to take religious beliefs as an appropriate argument against gay marriage.
It's basically the same as saying "It's wrong because I say so."

Im not saying he would condemn someone, and He is not hateful. If He didn't love us He wouldn't of sent Jesus.

But anyways, I'm not saying its that he wouldn't love gays/lesbians, but just wouldn't of approved.

Sadly, what I've heard from most Christians, including my own parents, that's not the case.
I've been told multiple times, in my own church, that I am a living blasphemy and that I'm going to hell.
If that's the meaning of WWJD, then I feel sorry for the disciples that had to deal with that p***k.

He made Adam and Eve to populate the world. Once civilization flourished, there was really no need, and now-a-days we have far more people than homes. That's how I see it anyway.

While it may state in the bible that men and women were created to lie next to each other and not next to a person of the same sex... people have to realize that the bible was created so long ago, and with society evolving at such a fast rate, some changes have to be allowed. It's silly to live completely by a book that's so old, assuming one even believes it exists.

I think it's silly how people are so willing to live by the 'things not to do and tolerate' underlined in the bible, and completely forget about loving everyone as an equal. If we're going to live by a book that has so much doubt cast on it, by atheists and those who actually practice it alike, why can't we look at the good stuff?

Then there are people like Cpt Lance Sk, who do believe it is wrong, but are not in a hurry to condemn those who aren't straight as a die.
Kudos, sir. You have somewhat helped my faith in humanity. I no longer want to hurl it off a cliff into an endless abyss.
(Apologies if this seems sarcastic. I'm actually being completely serious.)

That being said, I could care less either way. I actually have a lot of respect for those who try to stick by their same-sex partner, despite any slander and violence they might face. It can't be an easy thing to go through.

Since many people aren't Christian, or any variant of, I don't see how the Bible is a valid source for this topic; and it amuses me how so many people are willing to place faith in a book that was written by man(and thus could have easily been falsified).
