Rather than take her finger back, Sailor Iris kept her glove-covered finger jammed into the girl's stomach. She didn't explain, but it came across as if she was trying to make another point.

"I jus' picked it up I guess. Never took lessons, just picked a lotta fights when I was a kid."

Her finger was still digging into the girl. It seemed as if the yellow suited girl had something in mind, keeping her lips pressed shut. However, something rather suddenly broke that silence.

"So, what are you going to do?"

The Senshi of Rainbow's eyes shot open wide as she began to look around. She didn't move her hand, but began to look around hurriedly. Was it a possible enemy? It was pretty dark, so it wasn't like she'd be able to really spot it at this point.

It still wasn't hurting to have a finger digging into her, but it was enough for Metis' lips to twitch to the side in discomfort. This time she picked up much sooner, reaching to grab Iris' wrist to pull her hand away. Get hit and use it to your advantage. Her mind swam around the idea of grabbing someone's wrist in that scenario, pulling their arm to her side and past her, and somehow try to knock them to the ground. Easy manipulation of concepts she'd had to dodge someone, then try to kick them in the back.

Not that she'd had the chance to actually try it, note.

Plotting and planning and calculating came to a screeching halt when a new voice came into play. She didn't move either, swiveling her head to try and locate the new copper aura that must be present. Nothing. Not even a new set of waves to give her an idea of where they were coming from. Only thing she could see were yellow waves bouncing around, blinking as she focused in on the source. An... animal? "The aura's not the right color for it to be a youma or person," she stated to Iris, having noticed the quick change in her demeanor as well. "It's yellow... an animal's."

An animal with a sparkling aura. An animal with a sparkling aura like how Astraea's was. Oh... huh. "... excuse me?" That was a strange question, at the very least, though Metis quickly rounded with another that just might be stating the obvious. "Um, by chance... are you one of the guardian cats?" Now what was one of them doing out here?

If it was not for the fact the taller of the two girls was trying to locate the possible intruder, she might have acknowledged the fact that Metis had done a good job picking up on that lesson. Since her hand was no longer where she had poked, the blonde stood herself up to her full height and resumed her searching.

At her student's mention of what that new voice could possibly be, Sailor Iris simply groaned out "Jus' what we need... another cat..." God, she hated cats. Seriously.

The faint sound of jingling approached until a rather small cat literally sat itself right in front of Sailor Metis.

"I knew you would be able to figure it out, Metis!" the cat almost seemed to purr out. Without any hesitation, the cat nudged her head against the blind senshi's boot, causing the silvery bell about her neck to jostle and make a small metallic sound.

Sailor Iris watched the cat, crossing her arms, practically glaring at this cat. It was pretty dark, but there was one thing she noticed after enough staring.

"Say, cat, yer not 'ere t'b*tch us out 'bout how we're not findin' yer 'princess' fast 'nough, are ya?" Pause. "Y'must be a defective cat, since yer missin' yer tail..."

If it wasn't obvious, Sailor Iris did NOT like cats at all. Regardless of whether they could talk or not.

"There are a lot of senshi - would it really be so bad to have a lot of guardians to help?" She kept her voice light and friendly, less to debate a point than simply try to keep the peace as the feline neared. Of course, her question left for a lot of room for negative countering, something she hoped would be missed as she focused on *********. She was used to dogs, obviously. Cats? Raja never had a problem with other animals, including cats. The canine was quite fond of them, in fact. The girl's own opinion didn't waver far from her companion's too often, with nothing but a grouchy cat girl in a yellow dress to cast a faintly negative look at the species, magical or non.

If they were civil and as sweet as this one seemed to be, where was the trouble?

It was a nice compliment to get, though confusing since... since when did anyone just pop up and say something like that? "Really? How is that?" she asked simply, carefully lowering herself down to kneel on the ground. Was there just some mental network for the cats to know each of the senshi's identities, even as civilians? It would at least explain how they were able to awaken them.

Playing peace keeper wasn't going to be easy if she was going to try and stick with it. She shot a little look to Iris, though had to admit - her silent question still stood. Beyond her awakening and the meeting, she'd never crossed paths with one of the guardians out and about like this. Now, on this, she was going to stay silent, until the second piece made her openly stare at the other girl with wide eyes. Well that was uncalled for. Again trying to help (why did she feel this was going to backfire on her eventually?) she lifted a hand, pointer finger the only one up in a matter-of-fact fashion. "Is a dog defective if it doesn't have a long bushy tail? There are lots of variations in animals, some cats are born without tails." Looking back to the one in question, her face fell a bit as she suddenly began to pray the little one was born that way. She'd heard enough tales of how sick people could be to animals... "But um... what does bring you here, Miss..?"

Two ears twitched at the blonde's rather harsh words. Had they upset the cat, the ears might have pinned themselves upon the feline's head. Instead, they remained up and alert, as if the comments were simply tossed over the cat's shoulders. Her green eyes glanced from each senshi's face. Good, both of them were looking at her.

"Not 'Miss,' Metis. *********. I am *********, and I will be honest, Iris, I have not missed the tail since I never had one to begin with. Can't miss what you never knew!"

The cat paused again to look at both girls, making certain that they were still looking at her. Still good in those regards.

"What brings me here is that I've finally found you both! Kinda convenient if you ask me, since you are both here together!" The cat laughed out a good natured chuckle before continuing. "You two, Sailor Iris and Sailor Metis, are my girls! My Asteroid Belt girls!"

Sailor Iris was beginning to lose interest pretty quickly in all this gushing. Her eyes began to drift away so she could focus in on the words being said. Yet as her eyes began to move away, the pale spotted cat did something strange. As her eyes moved, the cat began to walk to stay in sight. This cat, ********* (as Iris remembered she introduced herself), was looking at her rather purposefully as she followed the shifting glance.

"You know, Iris, I was hoping that you would be a bit less... rude. Maybe even a bit more polished. I am going to have to work with you a lot to get you to your best potential. I expect a lot from my girls, and right now, you are barely tolerable."

Sailor Iris' glance seemed to grow so cold, that she could possibly freeze someone in place with a glare. She didn't hesitate to pick the cat up swiftly by the scruff of the neck and holding it up to eye level.

"Look, cat! We were doin' jus' fine without ya! Why th'hell weren't ya around when we first started up this stupid senshi thing?! Ya make it sound like we're pretty damned important t'ya, but if ya ask me, yer full of bullsh*t!!!"

The cat's ears only twitched slightly as she dangled from her new location. Was that a smile on the cat's face?
PostPosted: Sat Mar 13, 2010 12:02 am

Her smile was genuine to the introductions and to hear it was simply how ********* was born that resulted in no tail... oh the relief that flooded her. Now if only Iris would be a tad more civil, then everything would be just peachy in her book.

The dreamy look at this prospect was slapped off her face as the cat continued, pure confusion taking over as Metis just stared at her. Her girls? Asteroid Belt? Huh? She recalled mention of the Zodiac scouts at the meeting, how there was that specific group, that single team, and blinked. Was that what they were? Since when though? And why weren't they informed of this earlier?

As she tried to remember if anyone had ever mentioned this to her, she missed ********* moving in time with Iris' gaze, missing the cat's first sentence before she focused back on the pair. Instantly she paled, looking between human and feline to see... yep. The blonde was not happy. Oh crap. Just as swiftly as Iris had ********* by the scruff, Metis was off her knees and to her feet. "Iris! Hold on!" Without really thinking, she wrapped one arm around the cat, using the other to carefully pry the other senshi's hand off the silver fur. Once freed she took a half-step back, holding ********* rather protectively against her though still mindful not to squish. Her entire expression was begging for patience and peace and all around "please don't kill the cat!" "Please, just calm down a second." Was this calm for her?

She looked down to *********, taking a breath to try and organize her thoughts. "Can you explain to us why we never heard about this before? Why this is the first we're meeting you?" It was tough to be diplomatic when she was also rather curious for answers, same questions Iris asked, really. Though her course of action wouldn't have been to attack *********, more like glare till she got the information she wanted. Not that she could do that now.

Even with the cat out of her hands, and even after Metis attempted to calm the senshi of Rainbow's mood, there was no soothing this particular savage beast.

"No! F*ck that sh*t! She has NO RIGHT coming in 'ere like she knows everythin' and tellin' us we gotta do things to suit 'er fancy!" As if to accentuate her point, she stomped her foot on the ground.

The cat, now in her new location, was making herself cozy. She snuggled up against Metis' bosom and purred into her body slightly. Her green eyes glanced back to the obviously upset senshi.

Obviously upset.

"You really are going to be a hell raiser, Iris." The cat mimicked a shrugging gesture as best as a cat could, then continued. "Look, girls... I actually can't explain the 'whys' now. All I know is that you are my girls. I only know my girls by name, not by looks, not by personality, just by name."

********* sighed, knowing how unconvincing she probably sounded at the moment. "Look, you two are only the first of my girls. There are six others. And I need help finding them."

Sailor Iris let out a bitter laugh. She was not amused, despite the amused sound escaping her. "So, this is all 'bout you then, is that it?"

Silvery fur puffed up slightly. Obviously a nerve had been hit, but the cat tried to maintain her cool as she interjected "No, it is about us! Things are only going to get more dangerous as we keep going. You need a team to survive, Iris! The solo act will get you killed sooner rather than later!"

In any other situation, having such a cute and lovable cat in her arms like this, purring, would have had Metis in a fit of grins and giggles and just all around feeling like a happy little kid. Having an adorable purring kitty in her arms while trying to not let Iris get to the point that she'd skin the animal, well... she could only mindlessly run her thumb over ********* coat as a show of she really was an animal person.

When the accusations flew and the fur puffed up and the storm was looking even worse between the two combatants, she quickly threw out the first thoughts that came to mind. "Why not give it a shot, Iris? I mean, it sounds like it'd just be the two of us until the others awaken, would that really be so bad?" She was hoping she wasn't digging herself a grave by saying that. "Once they are though, if you really can't find a reason to stay, at least you can't say you didn't try. Besides, wouldn't you agree working as a team is more efficient?" Her own opinions aside, that is. Until she got the knack for fighting, and most likely after still, working with a team or at least a partner was the smartest course of action for the blind scout.

How odd though to think, out there were six other scouts that had yet to be awakened, completely unaware of what was going on in the world around them. Of course this could be said for almost all of the city's population. Still. Six girls that should be standing with them. Huh.

She looked back down to *********, a new train of thought occurring to her. "Is there much we can even do to help you find the others? Any information at all about them - or our enemy even?" That had been an afterthought, but one she threw in just in case. It was grasping at straws to ease the beast really. Anything that might trigger a more positive reaction though...

Why was all of this sounding so familiar? Oh, probably because she had this conversation at least one time before, if not a few times. And just like then, it wasn't coming through loud or clearly for Sailor Iris.

"I don't care if I get killed!" she stubbornly shouted in rebuttal. "I don't care! Everyone dies at some point. I don't give a damn when I do or don't die!" Her almost intense eyes shot to Metis' dulled ones. "And I don't mean that in the 'I cut myself cause I'm emo' way!"

Had there been any dudes here, she would have probably started throwing her fists at them. Yet, unfortunately, there were no dudes. Instead, just chicks. A chick named Metis, and a chick-cat. Chicks were obnoxious and annoying to deal with. Dudes, you threw fists, then you got over everything. Chicks continued to cling onto whatever issue had been brought up and tried to bring it up in the future to make you feel horrible. Mental torture.

The girls did not know how ********* worked. They had only just met. However, as Metis seemed to offer her support of the whole idea, ********* patted a paw along the girl's arm, as if to try and hush her.

"Thank you, Metis. However, it is Iris' decision, and it sounds like she is saying she'd rather die than be on a team." The silvery gray feline sounded rather sad, as if her heart had just been broken into many pieces. Yet, she continued to speak. "All I request is that you think it over, Iris. I know you don't really know me, and you don't really know me, but I am serious when I say that I want to see all of my girls safe." Feeling almost miserably defeated, the cat's ears flattened across her head in sorrow.

The blonde turned away to look off somewhere in the distance. She wasn't looking at Metis. She wasn't looking at the cat. She was just looking out towards where the street was. She wasn't looking for anything particular, but she was sick of looking at the senshi/cat combo. As she remained standing there, proud and tall, her hands balled up into tight fists.

"I don't like it when people put words in my mouth." Her tone was serious, and in all honesty, almost saturated with a deep sense of loathing.

"I ain't makin' any promises with you, cat." She couldn't see it, but the cat's green eyes seemed to sink down towards the ground in disappointment.

"However, I don't back out on promises I already made. I'll train Metis, like I told 'er I would. I'll figure th'other sh*t out later!" Getting that off of her chest, the tomboy of a scout just began to run. She had enough of this conversation and this evening. Screw them all for not being guys so she could just pummel them.

The cat just sighed.

"She's going to make this difficult on us, isn't she?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 14, 2010 11:22 pm

Well... the reaction could have all around been worse? Again she took silent as she listened to the senshi and cat continue on, shoulders drooping a bit as the air around them turned from aggressive to just plain depressing. At least it wasn't a brawl. The heck would she do then if Iris seriously exploded on them? Blind her? That sure wouldn't go over well, god no.

She didn't like being patted on the arm like a child watching grownups fight, or the pain in her chest at Iris' tone when she'd turned away from them. Her stance straightened, hardened, expecting yet another verbal strike. It didn't come, instead, a flicker of hope. Iris would stay, at least to finish what she'd started. Briefly, Metis closed her eyes in relief. It was all she could ask for, really. Inwardly, she played with the idea of calling her in a few days if she hadn't heard from her, if only to use the training as an excuse to check up on her.

Her lids didn't need to be up for her to see the cat, turning her head down instead with a small shrug of her own. "It's like you said, it's her choice. Maybe once she's had a chance to cool off and think about it we can all sit down and discuss it again." Or just let it slide uncomfortably under the rug for a while till maybe the blonde herself brought it back up. Didn't think that'd fly too high with *********, though.

Lids sliding up, the girl inspected the cat for a moment before continuing, "What will you do now though? Do you have anywhere to go?"

The feline sighed once more. She glanced up and managed to catch the fact the girl's eyes were shut. Lightly, she tapped her paw at the girl's chest, as if to say "please open your eyes." Eye contact. It was important. Especially to ********* tailless cat would wait until she had the eye contact, even if the eyes were physically blind, the least Metis could do was look at her with them. Once eyes were on her, she then replied to the senshi's concern.

"I will continue my search. You can set me down, I will go off and keep trying my best."

There was a thoughtful pause before she added "Iris probably doesn't get it, but my girls are important to me. I don't know any of you, but you are all still very important to me." The spotted cat rubbed her cheek against Metis' chest bow, whiskers poking against the material. She tastefully decided to not mention the fact she had nowhere she could technically call home. She was far too busy to be able to stay still for too long.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 15, 2010 2:58 pm

"I wish there was a way we could help you," she stated wistfully, knowing of course this was a job for ********* and ********* alone. It wasn't like Metis' sight could help them find other senshi, unless they were already awakened and in their senshi forms, that is. Would have been so useful to just tell who was and who wasn't without all that specific nonsense. But no, since when could anything be quick and easy?

As requested, she once again knelt to allow the cat to return to the ground, though not before giving her a quick little hug in response to the cat's little show of affection. "We have the chance to get to know one another at least," came the helpful smile. "I don't expect it to be instantaneous, but I'm sure once you two have more time to talk now and then, she'll get it through her stubborn head. Iris is a good person, I can vouch that much for her. She just... is tougher than most."

"You don't hang out with guys too often, do ya?"

The almost joke played around in her head, forcing her to chuckle softly as she shook her head. "If there's anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to contact or find me." She rose back to her feet, hands clasped behind her back as she grinned down to the feline. "The sooner everyone's back and working as a team, the better, right?" Maybe she was being over optimistic, maybe being just a little too helpful, but somehow, it felt right. It seemed like the least she could do was act like this, though she wasn't quite sure why.

It was always a shame to have to leave the warm arms of someone kind. Yet, ********* knew she had to leave sometime. She couldn't do her job if she was cradled in the arms of a senshi. Unless the senshi could read minds and take her everywhere that the cat's heart desired.

That would be nice though...

Once on all four paws again, the cat looked up to Metis. "Well, now that I've found you both, I will be checking up with you. Both of you." The cat's sturdy little body rubbed itself against the girl's boot, as if to claim her. "If I need either one of you, I will just find you. Even if I don't need you at the moment, I will still find you both again. I want to learn more about my girls." With a quick rub of the cheek along the girl's boot, the cat then began to walk away.

Even though it was the dead of the night, the air seemed a bit more lively, now that a single silver bell was livening the air with that gentle tinkling sound. It did not take too long for the sound to almost disappear completely. ********* had work to do, and staying at Meadowview's soccer field was not part of that work.
