(It happens)
The beach. Ah, the warm sand, the cool ocean breeze, the small watermelons...for eating contests. Good times. "The beach is ideal, depending where you are. Mexico in spring break? Down in Baja? Best locations I've been to." Amazing how many high school students could, and would go, even if it was mainly college types.
Bad thing happening around a girl? "Sounds like your just awkward. Hit on her. Ask her out. She's single isn't she? Maybe her ex got into a fight with her and tried to fight you. And..you lost? Still, fighting for love, always a good thing." Unless you were Elzo, then it was just stupid. "But, if not her, then just get out there, play the field. And I hope you do. With Valentines soon...the field is full, and ripe for picking." Sadly, he'd not found anyone of interest. Eve was cute, and his prom date, but...she wasn't some one he could see himself with.

Azzo nodded, "Mmm not sure if I could afford Baja or Mexico this year. What with the doctor bills. I should probably pick up a job to cover it."
He paused, looking at Marlo his head tilted. If only Marlo knew what he'd gone through, not only Marlo, if only Azzo knew too. He paused, "Maybe I will.... eventually" He said closing his eyes he wanted answers first, he didn't want to put her in trouble if this really was a sign of trouble. "As far as I know she doesn't have an ex."
He nodded, "Hm, anything happening around here Valentines? Or just that prom that's coming up?" He opened his eyes again and glanced around. Landing on another TV screen, this one seemed to have some sort of music show on it.

"Eh, only best to go in a group anyway. Mexico and spring break are like that." And expensive. He'd only gone due to Elzo's friends dragging him along. Still, the views were nice.
"As for valentines, can't say. Hillworth doesn't do anything, unless you're gay, then maybe. A few teachers hand out assignments to make sure even if you have a date, you can't do anything about it. Personally, I'm just going to wait till the day after and buy sale chocolates. Supply and demand my friend." And chocolates for cheap.

Azzo nodded, "I see, I suppose the good places for spring break are limited. " Azzo hadn't been really dragged anywhere for spring break that he could remember. Which also was apparently lame for him, though he tended to go on summer vacations. "Eh I forgot the name of the beach but there's one on the east coast that isn't bad for summer vacation. Lots of bars and partying though. Everything's in walking distance of most of the hotels which is good 'cause the road's always packed with cars to the point you can't really get anywhere driving."
He paused and wrinkled his nose, "Hillworth doesn't sound like much fun." He said, "Sale chocolates are always nice, it's like waiting till after Christmas to get the good stuff."

Marlo nodded, finally starting to feel like he was getting a good start on his cardio. "So, sale chocolates aside, what else you do? I'm running out of topics here. And if i run out, I will start staring at that girl. I know I will."
At least he would admit it.

Azzo chuckled, "Honest, nice."
He paused as he stretched before answering the first question. "Mainly silly stuff. Puppetry, amateur I just occasionally offer to help out shows or what not that might need puppets for things people can't handle."
His eyes flicked back at the girl, "I also study on uses of hypnotic states, mostly for medical uses. My grandfather use to hypnotize people. It's a pallor trick mostly."

He'd never heard of puppetry still being used. What came to mind were the lame puppet shows at renaissance fairs. Er, Faire. Fairy. Close enough. Still, he was a bit biased about it. Never did like puppets.
"Hypnosis? Think you can charm some one and make them your slave, like in the movies? Or, is it more of a self influence thing? I've had some tell me it's hogwash, other tell me its real. Your say?"

"My grandfather was great at it. As long as it wasn't against someone's will or moral values he could pretty well manage very interesting... shows... so to speak."
He paused and looked down. "I didn't get to learn it much from him... He died while I was still young... However, I picked up a few pallor tricks. It's not something you can take over the world with..."
He paused again trying to figure out what to say, "It's handy for medical uses though, if there's will enough to want to... say quit smoking... but they can't just find a 'reason' so to speak, you can plant the suggestion to help push the will to be enough to quit."
Shaking his head, "The movies however just make it more glitz and glam than it is. But it really depends on what you believe, that's what's makes it real or not. If you believe it is real it makes it easier to fall into a hypnotic state. If you don't believe then unless someone's hella determined there's not that big of a chance you'll fall under."

Popping his shoulders, (they were always needing to be popped), Marlo thought about this. "So...it is more a self manipulatory process, one which tricks the mind lightly with a possible lasting effect." The speed of the elliptical decreased. "I might need to look up more on that. But, I think your friend is looking for you?" He nodded over to the desk, where a rather frazzled looking attendant seeming a bit frantic at the possible lost customer.
"It's been nice talking with your Azzo. Perhaps we'll see each other again." Marlo had stopped the machine and offered a good bye handshake.

Azzo chuckled, "It would seem she is."
He shook Marlo's hand. "I hope so. Maybe at the kick boxing classes." He grinned, "Hopefully she won't be too mad at me having wondered off to explore." After Marlo headed off Azzo went back over to the clerk.
