lol That is soooo true. But I still count my pets as family. I have a dog and I sometimes think she hates me but my grey tabby loves to climb onto people's lamps and head-but you until you pet him. Then he purrs, which is something he never really did until now. when he isn't sitting on you, he is on the arm of the rocking chair and falls over every five to twenty minutes. Then he climbs back on and falls asleep. Then the whole thing starts over again. My orange tabby loves to be outside and he meows and climbs on the back of the couch when he is inside. It's so funny.
Our dog barks at everything and gets really playful around other dogs, being a puppy and all. But I bet if she thought you were threatening her family, she would hurt you.

Cats are ... quirkier than dogs, it seems.

My old dog, Hershey Bear (The bear is a joke. A town in Ohio has every sports team called the "Hershey Bears") He was mellow and wouldn't hurt a soul. But you can bet he'd attack if you threatened me (he was more my dog, but liked to follow my dad), except he'd probably just lick you to death. sweatdrop Now I have a dog named Zephyr who has bitten people. She is kind and calm, but will bite your arm off if you threaten us. However, our other dog, Chinook, would lick you to death. biggrin

What an amazing story! It just makes you want to go to the nearest dog and hug it. My dog, Bear, is a American Cocker Spaniel, and he's a sweetheart. He's never bitten any one, and he really likes people. I'm often proud of my dog, over his puppyhood there's been numerous dogs that have gotten into fights with him, always in OUR yard, but he manages to protect his family and his territory in the end. One dog actually came at me, snapping and snarling, and Bear threw himself in to help me. In the end, I seperated them, but I was still happy that Bear fought for me. Dogs are very loving animals, and I respect them because of it.

I know. Bear, that's such a coinkidink. That's amazing. Right now, Chinook is trying to eat a fly. She's cute, but she's such an idiot sometimes. At our cottage, she chases the baby ducks around in the water, mouth wide open, as if she's screaming "Fall into my mouth!". It cracks me up every time.

Aww that is beautiful. Reminds me of my dog. He saved us from a fire once. We were alol in bed when the carbon monxide alarm went off. Since it is such a small beeping noise no one heard it. All of the sudden my dog, who we now call old man due to age but is origonally named Pepper, starts barking. He runs into my sisters room who was very young at the time and wakes her up. She hears the alarm and goes to wake up my parents and Pepper runs towards the den which happens to be closed up for the night. He barks at the door until my dad who is now awake opens it. Smokes pours out like crazy because someone had left the vacum against the wall heater and it was melting the plastic. We would have never known about it until the fire started if Pepper hadn't been so upset and inisisted on waking us up. We got lucky that the gekos survived the carbon monixide poisoning had the fire started they would have been crispy cirtters.
