OberFeldwebel Fresnel uryu ishida REAL PPsH-41. Can't afford one. Though I COULD afford to feed it if I did have one. I'm contemplating saving up for a semi-auto conversion. Or an Imbel-built FAL. It's a war inside my head. You know, if you had absolutely no qualms about ignoring Johnny Law, the PPSh WAS designed to be built entirely by independent machine shops and tractor factories, except for the barrel. And you could easily buy a new barrel for a semi-auto PPSh. And then why bother getting in trouble? They've rebuilt semi-auto and lengthened PPsHs, while earlier models were jam prone they're better now and with a much better looking extension. Looks more like the shroud is longer than a steel band around the protruding barrel. Anyway this; http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=152319006except not a repro. No, I'm talking about home-brewing an original full-auto PPSh. The Russians made it REAL easy to do.

Shrantic Either the M21 or the SCAR-L. They're around the same price, and the optics I'd put on them would be around the same price, too. That being said, though, I want the SCAR more. No lie the SCAR's not that magical. The Masada/ACR is more impressive for price.

Also, the fact that it's not from Bushmaster and isn't a blatent rip-off of its competition. It could use a better pistol grip and rear sight, though. But if I come across 1,400 dollars, ******** the ACR. I'm getting an AR with better sights, a better barrel, grip, stock, ergonomics, and value. The AR-15 is still by far the best value; I'd just rather have a SCAR if money wasn't an object.

The AR-15 is still by far the best value; I'd just rather have a SCAR if money wasn't an object. The three things you just mentioned are all just standard AR parts, for all intents and purposes. The only thing thing the SCAR has is a side charging handle and gas system. And those can be picked up with a call to American Spirit Arms. My big annoyance is the height difference between grip and top rail. Seems taller than an AR, might be just me there. The grip can be replaced like a standard AR grip, the one advantage I'll give it. That would be valid if the ACR was actually Bushmaster/Remington. It's Magpul, they just grabbed the larger production capacity of the Freedom group to market and produce. Calling it a tipoff is hardly fair to it. The entire lower was redesigned. They just happen to look similar because they're both children of the AR and G36. Same. Already got the list of parts, and cultivating contacts for a 10.5" SBR of the ACR. Both in 6.8SPC.

I saw the civi-SCAR at the gun show Saturday and loved the look and feel of it. It would be great to have one if they weren't so damn expensive.
I may end up going with a Mini-14. I mean maybe it's inaccurate to long ranges and maybe not. But if it is, there aren't even very long ranges here in which to shoot. Otherwise I'd want something like a Remington 700 right now. But I don't mean to thread-hijack.
Oh I also saw a suppressed 1911 of some sort for around $3,800 which seems grossly overpriced. And there was a sawed-off 20-gauge, also absurdly expensive.

I've shot the SCAR, and it feels like an AR with a ******** up stock that felt like it was designed to bring your head up to the sights, because, like I mentioned, it feels tall. I need to get down and measure it sometime, but that price tag is prohibitive... Where the ******** are my ranger buddies when I need them.
The stocks adjustable comb seems to be a duct tape fix.
Mini-14's are cool, but expensive for what you get. Look at other 5.56 carbines if you get a chance.

I still desire an SL8. I don't know if I can get it here in California, though.
And if possible, as mentioned before, a Model 500. I want it with the 10" barrel.

Theyre not bad or anything, definitely cheaper than an AR.

Freak_090 http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/364/jae100da4.jpg First of all, that rifle doesn't match ANY of the aforementioned criteria. Second, I called the picture before it even opened. Third, ******** you for posting that and making me want one again.
