This time, Xeion didn't even think of dodging. He could if he wanted to, but he decided that asking the creature directly, at close range, would be the best bet to get an answer. It was a highly risky option, but Xeion had to know. If he didn't, he might do something irreparable to the creature which might also cause irreparable harm to Evie-chan if, in fact, the creature was Evie-chan, although the clues that pointed to that conclusion were already quite strong and clear. Xeion just needed to assure himself that it was her so he would have no regrets afterward.
Condensing the Cosmic Energies around him, Xeion created a multidimensional barrier around him which had enough power to protect him from the full force of Evie-chan's monstrous attack even if it were just a few minutes. He just needed to get an answer out from her, then it would be fine. Xeion just didn't like the idea of unknowingly hurting his friends if he was ever forced to take that option if it presented itself which was why he wasted no time getting right to the point when the creature smashed against the barrier, causing a large amount of energies to fluctuate and surge around the area wildly like a fierce lightning storm.
"Evie-chan, is that you? Please, answer me. Evie-chan, is that you? I don't want to hurt you, Evie-chan. Please, I'm begging you, give me just one sign -- one clue -- to confirm your identity as Evie-chan. That's all I ask -- one clue to ascertain as to who you really are."

Evil scrabbled at the barrier that had suddenly appeared around him, roaring in frustration. She was really starting to hurt now and it showed plainly on her face, however animalistic it might be. Her stomach clenched tightly again and she gasped, the breath escaping from her painfully. A tear slid unbidden out of her eyes, though they contained no trace of Evil in them, just the hungry animal. She pounded on the barrier as hard as she could, snapping at it with her powerful fangs and digging at it with her claws. She tried to wrap her Black Flames around it and smoke him out at the least. She was getting desperate now and was even trying to crush the barrier with her sheer weight, but it didn't seem to be working. her breath started to get ragged and her fur was spiked out all around her in clumps, making her look like some sort of rabid dog.

Xeion saw the creature's actions harboring no ill-intent, just the urge to get something to eat out of desperation just because it was getting very hungry. It was oblivious of anything else other than satisfying its urge to eat something and fill the raging emptiness inside her stomach if it would be able to silence the hunger for just a little while. In reality, Xeion already started pitying it and didn't care if it was Evie-chan or not. To him, it was just a poor animal who needed help and his heart was already starting to overpower his mind as thoughts of assisting it began to distort his logic.
"At least tell me what you want then...," Xeion asked one, final time although he thought that asking it any further would already be futile since his past attempts had failed in getting him the answers he needed.

Evil whined, scrabbling even harder at the barrier. Her stomach growled again, the sound even louder than before. She shook her head, drooling profusely and still trying to get at him. She sent off another sporadic burst of telepathy conveying her rudimentary feeling and broken distorted thoughts Hungry-him-food-now-belly-hurt-! But then it was gone as quickly as it had come. She redoubled her efforts and now began to assail his barrier with her Black Fire. To her, he was the only potential food big enough in this area. Since Evil had earlier driven all the animals away, there was nothing left for her to eat. If there had been other potential creatures to eat then she would have give up on this attempt and futile and would have gone to find easier prey. But this wasn't the case and she had to get food NOW!

With a disappointed sigh, Xeion shut down the multidimensional barrier and used a Dark Mirror to immediately transport himself a good distance behind Evie-chan, hiding in the trees for cover as he figured out a new way to get a response from the wolf. Hurting it was out of the question for now since he still had no clue if the creature was, in fact, Evie-chan and not just some other creature with similar powers as her, quite possibly being another surviving member from her pack before. That was a story Evie-chan had told her several times before and Xeion, having seen another wolf he didn't recognize who could use Black Fire like Evie-chan did made Xeion hesitate. There was so much stuff going on that he didn't know what to do -- he had to make his decisions wisely or risk reaping the consequences for them if he would ever make the wrong choice. He needed to think up of a strategy so until he could, he would just have to keep silent and hide for a while. It was the best option for him.

Evil stumbles forward, almost falling on her nose again. This time she caught herself and got to her paws. She snarled, her tail arching in annoyance. Now where did he go? She turned around in a circle, whining loudly as she did so. If she didn't get anything she'd probably collapse or something. The ravenous hunger in her empty belly seemed to sharpen her nose and ears and she quickly enough caught his scent. She stumbled forward, swallowing reflexively even as saliva dripped off her fangs onto the grass. She paused. Something was constricting her throat! She roared, twisting around and yanking it off. It was her collar, the characteristic E etched on a metal plate on a leather band with her tiny golden bell landed on the grass, the bell jingling softly before falling silent. Her breathing was heavy and uneven now and her sides hitched a little every once in awhile. She staggered towards his scent, once again crashing loudly through the woods, her collar abandoned in the clearing where Xeion had just come from.

Sensing that the creature's presence somewhat lessened a bit, Xeion allowed himself to breathe out a small sigh of relief, happy that the creature was, at the very least, out looking for a trail that was very, very hard to find considering that its prey, knowledgeable in the field of stealth and hiding, knew how to cover his tracks and do it with such precision and style that it would seem like the handiwork of someone in the second squad. Still, the young captain knew he had to investigate and something in the clearing from where he once was immediately caught his eye.
Jumping down from the random tree that he was hiding in, Xeion made a dash, knowing that using a shunpo would attract attention from the creature since it would entail using a bit of reiatsu. Once he had reached the spot where he saw the item, he took the aforementioned into his hand. His eyes widened when he saw the insignia and the design -- it definitely was Evie-chan's collar; the creature was, indeed, Evie-chan.
"Oh great, not again," Xeion mumbled to himself in slight annoyance of the situation. Now that he knew who it was, it would pose a huge problem for him to try and restrain the enormous creature Evie-chan had become without hurting her. With a heavy heart, Xeion once again hid among the trees, careful in his every movement, to prepare something for the creature's arrival. Sure, it would attract attention, but it was a necessary risk that Xeion was willing to take.

Evil was beginning to feel herself get weak. Her eyes had become even more dull than before and she stumbled a little when she walked. Where could he be? Her stomach growled insistently at her, pressing up against her skin and building the pressure there. She gagged a little, the pain becoming even worse. She was getting dizzy now and had to eat something soon, even if it was rocks. She snuffled along her way, trying to find where he had hidden. His scent trail confused her, looping back and around and going all sorts of ways. Her huge claws left deep gouges in the soft soil as she walked, her steps heavy and harder to lift up as time went by. She was wheezing now, her ears drooping downwards. Soon she'd be too weak to even pin down her prey and swallow it...
She shook her head, picking up her pace with a dogged sort of determination. Must...get...food... She thought in her halting way of hers. She perked up when she thought his scent was getting stronger, and she forced herself to go a little faster now. any second now she should find him...and then maybe she could eat something...If not she would resort to rocks, although it would hurt like hell...

Evie-chan didn't have to look any further though as Xeion was back where everything began, standing in a seemingly unguarded and casual stance while holding Evie-chan's collar tightly in his left hand. He gazed into the darkness and waited for the creature to make its presence known to him. Xeion breathed in and out, trying to stay focused and calm amidst the oncoming threat. He had prepared, but he wasn't sure if it was enough. Sure, with Elena's help, Xeion could probably pull it off, but considering the sheer power and speed Evie-chan in her Bankai possessed, was it really enough? There was only one way to find out, but Xeion only had one shot at it. Any more was impossible since if he missed that one shot, he would be a sitting duck.
"Come on then. Let's get this over with," he whispered to himself, breathing in deep one last time before he psyched himself up with a loud shout, taunting Evie-chan to come and get him.

When Evil heard a loud shout her ears pricked forward. Her stomach rumbled loudly and she suddenly stopped her current course and bounded towards the shout. Sure enough, there he was, just standing there. She stopped, still wheezing and stared at him. She looked haggard now, her fur having lost it's gleam and having gone dull, much like her eyes were. Her claws and fangs were chipped in some places and her ears drooped. She was still large and imposing, but obviously much, much weaker than before. It was amazing though how rapid that this transformation had occurred, since it had only been an hour or two at most since he had stumbled inside of the barrier. She licked her chops eagerly, thick strings of saliva plopping onto the ground. Want. She said in her new, slow way of hers, staring at him greedily as her stomach rumbled once again, even louder than before. She took a step forward, warily though since he might do something. Her Black Flames flickered to life, almost transparent now. Since her belly was empty and unfueled, her flames were weaker. Even this small show made her hungrier, using up her last reserves of energy. her legs trembled to try and hold her up as she padded towards him, her head low and her mouth open in a snarl. In one last ditch effort she ran as quickly as she could at him, pushing off the ground with a small burst of reitsu to make her go even faster.
If she didn't get him now it looked like she was done for.

At the same time Evie-chan lunged at him once more, Xeion, too, pushed off into a shunpo, putting everything on the line to get in just one, crucial strike. It was all he needed to do because Azumi would take care of the rest, taking her out from her dimensional storage bin within the Dark Mirror dimension. He felt Evie-chan's power and the darkness that had swelled up inside of it. In fact, her power had become so weird that one might even categorize it as demonic. Since that was the case, then Azumi was the perfect weapon to deal with such a thing because of her immeasurable abilities for healing and salvation that made her the bane of all evil entities. Coupled with the fact that she was a sword that can never kill, but instead, heal, Xeion wouldn't have to worry about Evie-chan getting injured.
Taking in the powerful energy head-on, Xeion felt like being pressed on by a steamroller, but even so, he made his move -- short, but decisive -- as the young captain crouched down on the ground, looking into her eyes and went beneath Evie-chan's jaw line before making a quick pivot to the left and thrust Azumi backward in the hopes of stabbing Evie-chan straight through her stomach which was the source of everything. Azumi would definitely be able to revert Evie-chan back to normal with her unbelievable purification abilities, but before that happened, Xeion needed to bear with the flames first.
Even with Elena's barrier, Xeion could still feel the pain of the Black Fire licking his body. It wasn't something to be surprised about since he was near the source of the flames. With that said, it was now a showdown as to which overcame first. Would the strike with Azumi win, or would the Black Fire roast the shinigami captain first before Azumi could finish completely purifying Evie-chan of her madness?
"Evie-chan...come back to reality...," Xeion murmured, holding Evie-chan's ripped collar with the hand he had used to stab Evie-chan with Azumi.

Evil gave a high pitched snarl when she felt something stab at her belly. The Flames around her flickered, and then faltered, starting to disappear. She roared, trying to twist her body in mid air away from the thing that had stabbed at her empty belly. Oddly enough, it didn't hurt though, but felt sort of nice and warm. Her stomach constricted, groaning as healing energy started to spread throughout her body. She reared back on her hind legs, slashing wildly at Xeion before falling onto her back and curling around her her belly, whining. She felt strange, with conflicting emotions that confused her. The roaring hunger of her belly started to fade slowly, leaving her feeling hungry still, but not ravenous. While she didn't come out of her Bankai she slowly regained her consciousness back, becoming Evil once more as intelligence flickered back into her eyes. She shivered, her massive form looking pitiful in the fetal position she was currently in. Soon enough the stupid hungry animal she had become was gone and she was back to her old self, for the most part. Her ears drooped and she uncurled a tiny bit, blearily looking around. Who...Who's there? She asks a little fearfully, her memory fuzzy from when she'd been hunger crazed. She felt tired, worn out, and still a little bit hungry, but not like before.

What Evie-chan would see as soon as she opened his eyes was the sight of what looked like Xeion, lying face-down on the ground, with large quantities of blood gushing out from the countless lacerations on his back. The crimson-colored liquid was spattered everywhere as if it had been the sight of some gruesome beating on some horribly sick and insane slasher movie, but it was there -- everything was. However, the most generous amount of blood was on Evie-chan's coat; her massive frame like a canvas with uneven spatters of blood, some having a thicker concentration of red than the other.
The figure lay motionless, neither exhibiting any signs of life. He didn't draw any breath nor did he move around to show that he was in agonizing pain -- something which was, at the very least, able to tell Evie-chan that the young captain was still within the safe levels of life, but it was apparent that there was none. If Xeion were able to, he would have smiled knowing that Evie-chan was back to her normal self, but since he was unable to at the moment, it was all Evie-chan. Really, how could anyone last a minute with that kind of shock?

~* Evil Wolf*~Evil's fur started to slowly rise when she saw Xeion lying face down on the ground, similar to how an anime character's would in a show or movie. She was frozen in shock for a moment. Unbidden, her stomach growled softly and Evil hissed, her ears flattening. She snapped her head back and forth, dispelling the awful thoughts that had started to creep into her mind. Xeion? Xeion?! Get up! She barked, getting to her paws. Then the smell of his blood, nice smelling to her lupine nose, hit her like a slap in the face. She could see it was all over her pelt and splattered across the ground. Had she done this? She glanced at her claws, seeing them bloody and she whined softly, her tail curling around her legs. She padded over to him, nudging his still body with her nose, getting more blood on it. Xeion...Why did you come here..I...put up a barrier... She mumbled stupidly, already taking note of the injuries on his back. She wasn't terribly good at healing, but she would hopefully be able to help them a little. She debated about whether or not she should go back into her human form, then rejected it. She needed her Black Flames and special Lycan abilities for this one. She hovered nervously over him, then bent her head, licking at his wounds to clean them. This was very hard for her to do, since it only made her hungrier, but she ignored it. They were still bleeding, but they were at least clean now and free of the dirt and bits of rocks and such that had gotten stuck in there. Her saliva, which had weak healing properties, slowly started to mend the wounds. But she knew this wasn't going to be fast enough and she had to stop the bleeding now. She let a small flicker of her Black Flames appear and scooted a little closer to him, putting one paw gently on him to keep him still. Carefully, she cauterized his wounds, sealing them shut with a quick administer of her Fire. The smell of burnt flesh wafted over her and she swallowed hard, curling her tail around her more tightly. Then she sat down in front of his head, nudging him and licking at his face. Xeion, wake up now...Your wounds are better now...Come on... She murmured, trying to bring him around. ~*Commander-General of the Sereitei, Captain of Squad 10*~

Even with Evie-chan nudging him and healing his wounds partially, searing them shut with the use of her abilities, the body of what used to be a healthy young man was still very much motionless. His body showed no signs of improvement either with the only exception being his wounds that were healed by using Evie-chan's abilities. The warmth from his body soon began to fade away as his usually pale skin became even paler and paler with each passing second. There was seemingly no other way of preventing the coldness to spread throughout the young man's body, but fortunately for Evie-chan, she couldn't see his face. Heaven knows what could happen if Evie-chan were to see the motionless figure's face after she had already seen what she had done to him. Can she take whatever it was that she would see? It would probably be better if she hadn't though. Soon, everything will be taken care of as the figure's body began to dissolve into blue spirit particles, starting from his toes. They were beautiful -- like fireflies dancing in the air, increasing in number as, more and more, the body broke down and gave light to the once dark forest, basking Evie-chan in a glorious azure light that was full of warmth.
